A new game for the Wii and DS system and it the Sims that we know and love but reminds me so much more of Animal crossing because you build a town and you have to make it appealing for new people to move in.

I haven't played it yet and I want it. One of the first things I'll be getting when I have the money... but what do you think?

Anyone have this game to say what it's really like? I'm getting it for the DS so... if you have it for that, it'd be really helpful for me.

  • This is one of my top-wanted wii games.
HOPEFULLY I'll get it today or tomorrow.
I live in a small town where the closest game shop is 1.5 hours away.
And my sister is there today, but shes not in her own car.
So if they stop at wal-mart, Steve can get it :DDD

I don't have a wii (though I sort of want one now) so I'm stuck with the DS version.. the wii one does look much better.

I shall be getting it when I first get paid.

But hasn't that been the general plot of the sims games since Sim City, way back in the day? Did you play sim city? I've recently come to learn a lot of people haven't. But that was the purpose for that game too. You have a town, and you have to keep the citizens happy by making it an enjoyable place to live. Lots of parks and stadiums and enough roads so traffic isn't congested, etc.

I only just heard of it from one of my now exes last year... never played it... but this isn't sorta like that this time though... you make a town keep everyone happy but it's following Animal Crossing themes. *avid Animal Crossing fan* No traffic everyone goes by foot and you have to create different things...

The lazy Wal-Mart attendant wouldn't go check for my sister, but my friend, who was also there that day, told me that he saw it in the bottom shelf >.>
Looks like I'll have to wait another 2-3 weeks.

*But is also an animal crossing fan*
I scratched my GC version because I heard that it would make you get infinate bells >.>

Well in the gameboy version of Sims everyone goes by foot and you run about town making everyone happy... Either way. I seriously doubt they're stealing from Animal Crossing ^.^; Sims has been around for ever. They just keep making more games with a different spin on the same basic concept.

Steve - That sucks, me I have to wait till I get paid.. another week now.. as long as I don't spend my whole paycheck on books where I work.

Manga - I never said it was a direct copy, just something very similar. In things I've read about it every article has mentioned like Animal Crossing... So... it's the impression I got myself the first time I seen the advertisements for it.

I do have a Sims game for my DS though... The one that I'm a manager and have to keep the hotel geusts happy. That one is quite different I don't expect it to be the same...

The characters on My Sims aren't the usual things though.... they're chibi-fied and aimed mostly towards the Japanese to enjoy.

i was thinking the same thing the other day.
but mangacatgirl also has a point. only its a
"you build it they will come and stay"
while Animal Crossing/MySims is
"build it and hope they come and stay"

the basis is the same. but the story differs on parts.
plus in SimCity you can pretty much destroy the city you created, just for the heck of it. i am sure MySims doesnt even consider such an option...its too cute.
it would make me laugh though...
