No one filled in forms correctly, no one was paired up yesterday, a newbie was encouraged to sign up to adopt and even took another newbie but she doesn't meet the criteria and I had to sort that out, one of our daddies is dropping out so I'm trying to get him to stay. I left my list at home so I paired people up from memory. And works far too complicated for me to bother typing out right now :P

@Jayms;; I signed up yesterday and was tempted to be adopted. P: But I'm a rebel and like doing things on my own. [ Lol. Just kidding.] Some people don't want to sign up because other newbies aren't on the list. I mean a lot of people have more courage when they follow a crowd. Afraid to be a leader, type of a thing. And they are scared of being shot down [ rejected ] because they don't quite know how to phrase their questions. :B I was like that. But then I just kind of wandered about and fell into place.

Angel is instantly notified of all replies to this thread. If she is signed on and sometimes even when she is not then you post and Angel hears it :P

Ooooh as a newbie I have a question for you. What do you think would make the adoption center more inviting to newbies?

And tri colours.
1 colour for things like about/rules
1 colour for newbie text
1 colour for adopters text.

But other than that just re-writing it.

I understand you are adjusting you’re layout, but its just some ideas. The red font is kind of scary, and more images are needed. Maybe some avatars of the people who moniter the thread and explain who they are and how to reach them, what to reach them for, etc. Maybe include links to other guides and a few rules in there? Explain to whom you are addressing with no more applications. I thought no more newbie applications. Color coding is a great idea! Maybe show an example of a filled out application? Just so the newbies can see? I don’t know. Maybe talk where to meet new people, like roleplaying forum, art forum, General Discussion, GN, etc? Any questions go in the information desk or pm some one? Thats all I can really think of.

Thanks :) I'll be sure to take all of that into consideration whilst designing :) I set it up as a floating thread so I used my normal font colour and then it got stickied. I wish now I'd reserved some threads and planned it a little better :)

Yeah. I never expected the idea to catch on so I didn't really take too much time in laying it out. So that's the job for today to re-design it. All crit is loved.

Why don't you make the font into a lighter, more pastel-y color? Like this one that I'm using for this post? xD

Maybe more bouncy-ish images? x] To give the thread a more welcoming feel? :D

Or, going with a whole other theme...

Try bright, happy colors. x] Maybe little pixelated suns at the start of every post? And a brightly-colored font? Not one that's hard to read, but just something very...happy? xD

Well, happiness is nice, but a lot of people don't like tons of bright colors. So Don't make it too happy or cheerful, then your enthusiasm might scare off some of the newbies. XD

last year, I usually wore white, blue, black, or grey. Or brown.

This year...it's always like...magenta, yellow-orange, light blues...

I wear a lot of blues. I have my entire light. Lately I wear a lot of greys and last year I wore a ton of tans. XD
