Yea, I hear ya. I think jelly banned one last night because she couldn't understand why you couldn't bump here. And I do remember the ancient Gaia... the one that was still a community. I do hope that this site doesn't go down that path but we'll see. Some things I read last night make me wonder.

Juru - how are you holding up? lol...all the mods and CMs seem so tired lately! ^_^

Secret - I'm lucky that my "work" right now is commissions - they're fun for me. But I have found that I'm taking much longer on them because of this site. So I've tried to step back a little. Contemplated giving it up altogether, but that's kind of hard to do, so I'm holding off on doing anything that drastic just yet! lol

I really like the gold system here. I do wish we could have some non-gambling games (like Descender...I so miss Descender's pay out!), but I actually like talking to people. I don't really feel all that much of a connection with most people over on Gaia like I do here, simply because I've been forced to come out of my shell and talk. And now, the gold earned is just a nice bonus to the friendships.

I agree Secy. I get sick of those that come here and just complain that the gold sucks. I disagree with that completely. I have earned gold much faster here than I ever did on gaia because the gold per post is better. People are more friendly here too.

• Not just friendly, but also at least in general, the people here seem smarter. Expression of opinion with rational backing is much more prevelant here on Mene than on Gaia right now at least. Makes me happy. xD

I think that in Gaia's case it will be very hard for them to clean up the forums at this point. I know I wouldn't want the job of forum cleanup there (unless they paid me a handsome sum but that's different).

• Yeah. When you're the biggest forum on the internet and one of the biggest websites (I think second) in general, it's a bit hard to keep everything under control, especially with the number of moderators right now. At least they're expanding that team...

Edit: Agreed Yreka. There is just too much. I think they would have to take forums down a little at a time in order to prune and then if they were start sending out warnings and such to users...ugh.. I can only imagine what troubles they would have. I feel bad for the moderators over there. It seems as though they are probably more overworked than we are.

• Hrm. Taking down forums for a bit for something like that might work but only if there was a team of quite a few people working on it. So if they were going to do something like that, then i'd guess it would have to be forum-by-forum. I'd also get that they'd get a ton of complaints if GD or CB was closed down since those would take the longest. GCD I doubt would have to be and if it was, at least the users are more understanding.
  And yes, they're really overworked. I've been talking with one of them and they say that pretty much every time they go online, they have a few hours then taken up by giving out warnings, moving threads, attempting to reply to a ton of PMs, etc...

Moderating here is a job, that's true, but it's nothing like I imagine Gaia would be. Granted I am not on Gaia much these days, if at all, but it seems like trying to mod would totally ruin the site for me in its entirety.

And can you imagine the uproar if suddenly people weren't able to post all the horrible things they are used to? I'll stay out of that nightmare.
