- Hahahaha!
It's fine. Just takes a long time to learn a new language so this is perfectly normal I believe. :3

- Then you also have to keep it fresh in your mind. At the school I go to, we're required to take spanish from 1st to 6th grade. I can't remember pretty much any of it right now. xD

- Ah well. I got annoyed at it by 6th grade. Then again, it just was the language that I didn't like in general. I like Japanese much more although i'm definately not the top student in the class. Acctually near the bottom, but oh well.

That would've been awesome! :o I wish my school had done that!
You could either start taking German in 8th grade or Spanish in 10th grade.... To make it better, the German teacher's old and should've retired YEARS ago, and the Spanish teacher's crazy.
They've got lots of languages here; I'm finally taking German (yea), more Spanish (yea), and I'm going to try to take more German and some French next semester.

Spanish is fun...... I love knowing more than one language. Some just sound better, you know? Like the word for something in one language sounds more graceful than the same word in a different language. 's fun.

Heh. I can already speak Korean, but I can't read or write it. Not really interested in learning, though. I'll regret it when I don't see some sign in Korean that says "Violent Dog: Do Not Enter" or something...

- Streamer: Ah. We've got French, Japanese, Spanish, Mandarin, and Latin. Kinda want to have German and Russian thrown in there, but oh well. I'll learn those eventually. That way, i'll at least be able to talk to a lot of the really good fencers I know in their native language. xD
Anna: Meh, i'm taking Japanese since I may eventually live there. The economy in Japan has been relatively stable lately and i've been to the country before. Not just the tourist areas also. It's a nice place if you can get the people to relax about you being from another country. :3

 That would be very bad.
Yes.. My boyfriend's learning Japanese and Spanish (he already spoke German), and I'd like to learn Russian and Japanese later.... Latin would be useful, because of how closely related it is to most languages I'm interested in, but at this rate, it's faster to just go through each language. Besides, that way I get the languages themselves. Yea.

- I know what you mean. I want to master Japanese and then start taking Russian or German. More likely Russian since I tend to do better with languages which have the least resemblance to English in the character style. Russian is more out there than German in that sense so...yeah.

Yeah. I'm fairly (allegedly) fluent in Spanish..... About everything that we're learning now is which verb tense to use for what. (Which is confusing, because it isn't explained very well.) I'm having better luck with German than Spanish right now, but I keep confusing them with each other. (On the German quiz, I forget what the German word for something is and can only remember the Spanish one. Oop. I expect that I'll get better at it. (Especially because I already am.) Spanish wasn't so bad when it wasn't too similar to English; it's easier to understand it, but not to remember the Spanish word itself.

- I know what you mean.
Grammar has always been a bad point for me in any language. I never got what things like the "present progressive" tense in spanish was and so on and so forth.

Yeah. I think I get that one.... Unless that's the "-ía" ones and such. I have problems getting between the preterite tense and the other tense..... I don't remember what it's called now! :gonk:
I probably won't take more courses in Spanish, unless we don't cover future tense this semester (I'd REALLY like to make sure that I've got a good grasp of that.)

- Heh. Only reason I remembered about that form is because some students were complaining that the tenses were too confusing while walking to another class this last Friday. xD
At least I can remember most of the Japanese grammar forms i've been taught so far...

XD That's a good way to remember it, I guess....
Our German professor isn't doing a lot with tenses this semester; just present tense. (We also aren't covering "du" until next semester.) His rationale is that a lot of the students in there right now are just taking it to get their foreign language credit out of the way (he's probably right). So he'll do more with the German II class because they're probably in it to actually learn.

- As long as you're still learning a decent amount with the present tense, then I think that would be worth-while. I'm also guessing that your German professor then also knows a decent amount about student psychology and might be able to pick out those who both want good grades and are taking the language just for the sake of getting it out of their requirements.

Mom dragged me off to finish my homework. Ugh. I can't wait until school is over. But of course, then I have to worry about jobs.

The file's too big to get it off my camera. :( So I'm without my party spirit until my camera will move files larger than 8MB.
