I don't believed I've been assigned anything yet. They posted areas that you can "claim", but since I float around I didn't jump on anything in particular. I'd love to stick around and chat and welcome newcomers though. ^^

@Baja: Ah, well sleep well. The DMV can be a pain, but I know you can renew your license online in the state I live in. But I'm not yet old enough to get a new license. *can't wait until I'm 21*

@Ferra - Ah, the DMV is only like 5 minutes from my house, so its not really a hassle.

oooh well maybe look into those threads and see if you can make yourself more well known so when you get assigned one people aren't like "WTF is she to tell me that?" :P Not that many users would be, but you know? T'is dark days and some may :)

EDIT: @Jayms: That's a good idea; I've been browsing a lot of the forums, and I post here and there when I see topics I can add to. But I should try to be more actively involved. My big issue is making topics; I think I've only made 10 or so in all my time here. :oops:

XD Well I'm not sure. I'm not a big general discussion type, since I feel obliged to reply to everyone who posts, at least as best I can. I'd love to start a role-play again, but that forum is in shambles right now, and I'm spent for ideas. I already have one in the video game section, so maybe I should work on something in the literature or books subforum?

Oh and Juru, saint that she is, ha tidied the roleplay forums up a bit, there's now a 1 on 1 equest section intead of them overloading the OOC and she's thinking of organising it even further! I'm so pleased! I've been moaning about those 1 on 1's all day :P

@Jayms: I heard about that. :3 I like RPing with more than one person usually, but I don't mind one on ones (I've never done so with anyone I didn't know in real life though).

A drabble? I read about them in the Lit. revamp announcement, but I don't remember exactly what they mean. Do you have a link to your thread?

A drabble is a story written by two or more people. One person writes something and then the next and the next. Each controlling all the characters and shaping events. Like those writing games you played as a kid?

I can get you a link to my story if you want one but I don't really do much in there except write a story, I'm trying to get a drabble going.

I like 1 on 1' with some people, but I like group ones too. Both have their merits.

@Jayms: I understand now, I went and looked up the guidelines too just to see. I think RPing is more my forte though, since I'm more comfortable being in control of one character and having to respond to other characters as that character. I'm usually always surprised at the responses, which makes it a lot more fun. ^^

Oddly enough, I didn't play those games as a kid. I actually didn't have hardly any friends until late middle school/high school, so I made up stories on my own all the time. ^^;

I almost got kicked out of scool for one of those :P It didn't help that it was about two students (same names as the authors) kidnapping and torturing a new student (named after our new student)...Yeah, Angel and her best friend were evil!

@Jayms: I went ahead and read it, and I think you did a good job! ^^ You have a flare for telling spooky stories; that's something I can never do. XD If I say them aloud I can't keep a straight face, and my typing "voice" would probably mess it up too.

I should post some of the things I've written, but most of them are just little snippets of character development. Not the most interesting read when people aren't familiar with your characters. =/

When me and my sister were litte we had two sets of neighbours One were Toni and Jayms, the other was Aled, Claire and Ben. Ben was too young and Aled was and still is a prick, but the other three... Oh we had sleepovers with Claire and Toni and Jayms...we half lived at each others houses we were there that often! And of course when youre little you love ghost stories...I gave them and my sisters nightmares! Along with several friends, I was always the one to tell them. But yeah, if you go into the writers block section you'll see I've been having trouble recently. Basically I went through manic depression and almost killed myself, since then I lost my writing muse. This is the first thing I've written out of a roleplay in four years! I was really hoping for some people to crit it, but no one is. So I'll just keep working on it and try to improve.

Feel free to post snippets, almost everyone else does. It's just really to excercise you're story telling skills.

Broken had a depressed day....bleh. Let's just say it involved a pretty vicious fight involving me throwing objects at a person... :?

Anyway...I have another job interview tomorrow....so far the hours kinda suck, the pay isn't as good as I want, and I may have to use a fake name with the customers.....No it's not stripping....it's working as a debt collector. No one likes you to call during dinner hour and ask for money. I've heard things like verbal harassment and death threats come with the territory.....not much incentive to do well at the interview tomorrow but I'll give it my best shot. :roll:

Aye, I would avoid a job like that, but if you want to hear truely scary...We're getting a villages security system shortly...Why? Because their security guard got run out of town with death threats...from murderers and rapists (both of which happened on a daily basis)!

@Jayms: Eeep, I'm glad you got through that. o__o; I'm sorry I'm not much of a writing critic, I generally can only edit text for grammar. That's good that you had childhood friends you could do that with though. I always felt like I missed out on those kinds of things. ^^;

I really like to write, but I don't push myself to do it constantly. In a way, it lets me avoid writer's block by taking things very slowly, but I need to keep my skills sharper by practicing. ^^;

I probably will get around to it. It might bolster me to finish a project I started which was summarizing how each character viewed their relationship with the other characters.
