Who would do that? Hopefully no one would be stupid enough to buy/rent a house that was in a flood plane.

We lost I think two people. A thirteen year old on his way home through milhouses Park was swpet away by the river running through it. The second, a man got his foot caught in a storm grate and drowned.

We got so much water we pumped it out into Ully resivoiur. Which you know, was fine, until we cracked the thing... Then had to shut down the largest freeway to pump the resevoiur!

yeah that would be stupid to buy/rent a house that is located in flood plane.. I do believe that is what happend here with all the ones that have lost it all during the floods we just had.. It is stupid but I don't think they knowingly knew that they were in a flood plane here. but if you knowingly know it is a flood plane and you rent/buy that is just stupid..

Well I think the houses would go fast as Sheffield is one of the best places to live. It's why I rent. I can't afford a place here.

And unless you knew Stocksbridge you wouldn't know the little Don could flood and you wouldn't know you were on a flood plane there. Because all of stocksbridge and deepcar is not on a flood plane they'd go there expecting to be like us and safe from flooding.

yeah I can understand that. I suppose it could be that way here as well. as we live up high but the river is only like 500 ft from where live so we get lucky when it floods..

and yes it is a beautiful picture. almost reminds me of my days living on the farm where we had a creek run through the back part of our farm..

Well get this, see milhouses river? That's walking distance from the center of a city larger than London. Sheffield is half city half countryside. You'll be walking through the city and find a forest or something around a corner.

You can't get flood insurance by the little Don. As I said, my parents live so close! No flood insurance company will sell to them. Not that they care, if the floods hit them the world is ending.

yeah normally our winters are cold and freezing and snow filled. but here as of the last few yrs the snow is less and we still have the cold and freezing winds but now we have rain..
the global warming is alot of the problem. and I so feel for the polar bears as they are becoming extinct because of it..

Same here. We used to have snow and everything, but with the global warming the gulf stream is moving. Now we get ice at worst and rain. More rain than we can deal with. And this is England! We're used to rain!

We had the weirdest winter, it'll be snowing/raining one day and then the next day it'll be 55 degrees. v.v;

Star it has been like that here in Indiana. we got the worst snow storm before christmas and had tons of snow then like a week or two later we got freezing ice and then we got rain a week after that, lots of cold winds. then it all stopped and our tempertures here went up to 60 almost 70 degrees. then it rains again and the temps drop and now we are having very cold winds and temps of like 30 all in like a months time.
