There is definitely a difference between how we sound to ourselves, and how other people hear us. Maybe she really hears herself sounding terrible, even though you hear something different. o.o; That, or she could be insecure and looking for a little support. XD

I think it has something to do with the reverberation in our ears that causes use to think that we sound horrible when we sing.
I myself hate the way my voice sounds when I record it. I can't believe that that's the way I sound. Maybe I just have a bad recorder or something.

Perhaps, I used to sing myself but no longer. I sing to only music at my home, if anybody else is even close my mouth stays shut.
"Like a dying cow," I like that one.

- My bestestest friend ever was in choir...and she'll tell me sometimes that she doesn't sing well. Blah! Lies! Her singing is gorgeous. 8D
I can't sing worth pennies and that's the truth. D:
Hm, I'll have to look into the differences in how we sound and how others hear us. Sounds really interesting. Whenever I have to record my voice or something, it comes off really high pitched. Freaks me out that I sound like a little kid. But when I talk, I hear myself sounding...a little deeper?

My voice is actually the reverse... I think that it sounds great, but when I hear it (recording, etc), it sounds so bad... XP Anyway.
I've got a few friends like that.... I think it's a combination of wanting to be told that it's not true and self-consciousness. They'd like to be told that they're good to hear it (yea, I'm good), and to prove to themselves that they are.

I think she's just being modest. Wouldn't it be slightly more annoying if she said, "I'M SO GOOD AT SINGING. I'M BETTER THAN EVERYONE." I would rather them say they suck so that I could tell them they don't. 8D

I think I sing horribly and I’m told I sing well. I won’t normally sing in front of people though because I get embarrassed about it. My friend says I sing really well though, but I think she just says it because she knows it bothers me.
