I use Internet Explorer most of the times. From experience I know Firefox has the tendency to be even slower on our network than IE. There are some sites that don't work in IE however, so I use Firefox for those. I've never tried out the other browsers listed in the poll to be honest.

I have to disagree with Anahita on IE being troublesome to work with as a webdesigner. I design websites too, using Cascading Style Sheets as well. I actually find it rather annoying Mozilla Firefox does not understand custom scrollbars or half transparent iframes. They both have their up- and downsides when it comes to webdesign. But most of the times I try to make my websites as compatible as possible for IE because that's still what the majority of people uses.

Furthermore I use Windows Vista. It came standard with my notebook when I bought it.

I use Internet Explorer. I could never get used to Firefox. For my OS I use Windows Vista. I have a desktop though at home that's an XP, but it doesn't have internet, so I use it to play games.

I use FireFox, but when my husband uses our internet he uses IE. I personally like Firefox better. It seems to take less time to load I think. And for posting on Gaia and Mene it has a spell checker!

I use to use IE, but I keep getting these really annoying pop-ups that won't go away no mater what I try. So now I use FireFox. I'm not quite as use to it as IE and it doesn't refresh a page automaticly when you go back and it's a bit slower, but worth it to not get pop-ups.

And a bunch of sites only work on FF.

Both
IE and FF
WIN XP

sometimes FF acts stupid. and is a memory hog, but i like using the tabs,
so its what i mainly use. i would like to download IE7 but everyone keeps going on about how unstable it can be.

but to actually just have it updated since IE6 at some point- wont get updates anymore.

I have always found IE to be more of a memory hog that Firefox, to be honest. Firefox opens instantly on my computer, whereas IE tends to lag before opening, and is prone to giving me "grey box" errors in avatar sites such as this one, IMVU, or Gaia. Firefox seldom crashes on me at all - lag can happen if I am downloading a big file or viewing too many pictures at once, but otherwise happens little. I am glad to have ditched IE for Firefox as well, since it's less likely to be targeted by virus makers - Microsoft has, sadly, always been the main target of such,so I avoid things like MSN to play it safe.

I use Opera, actually, but it's not on the poll.

If Opera doesn't work (NBC website gives me trouble), I switch to Safari.

I run on Windows XP with Firefox, mainly due to I got told by my stepfather that IE is just a piece of crap basically after fixing my computer once mainly due to it just is a virus browser. My school uses Firefox for their Mac OS Xs.

I switched to Firefox a while back, when IE was just...less than stellar, and the fact Firefox had tabbed browsing made me stick to it. Now IE has tabbed browsing, but it still lags so much more than Firefox ever does or has.

My operating system is WindowsXP, simply because it came with my computer when I bought it years ago. xD I'm going to upgrade to a new computer soon, not sure what I'll get then. I really don't want to get a Windows Vista machine because I hear it's terrible, but I may have no choice if I want to buy something cheap and nearby. xD

I use IE7, and all the people that say it's "unstabble" really need to get a life and stop taking in all that corporate bs that microsoft sucks, cause if it wasn't for microsoft, most of the people on this website wouldn't be on teh website :P

BTW FF isn't all that different from IE7, just on firefox you get to chose a skin to use, which kinda complicates things, one day someone changes skin, then you don't know wtf is going on... that's really helpful lol

My OS is Windows XP Media Center Edition and I use Firefox+IE Tab. I loathe the existence of IE, but as I'm a webdesigner I have to check my coding in IE as well. So I have IE tab for that.

I run XP SP 2 for two reasons, I grew up on them, and I rely on many of the suits by Microsoft from programming. The XP system I prefer because unless you have an expensive high high grade system upgrading to Vista isn't worth it as Vista eats crazy memory for the computers 1-2 years old or older. So unless I need a new computer I'm not getting it just yet.

I used to use Firefox because it is faster for slow computers however Firefox has a few back doors into your system so I do not use it unless it is forced IE 7 is a much safer and stable browser. I only use Firefox on our old backup computer as no one would care if it died. That and EI is a pain so the faster really helps. x3

So if you have a nice computer I would go IE all the way however if is an older computer that is slow in running Firefox is most likely a better choice as if you where to be attacked an older computer is easier and cheaper to replace. But if you have a PC that runs well IE is better simply because it's safer and the slight slowness isn't noticeable.

I use the latest version of Firefox on my Windows Vista. I've used Firefox for several years now. The main reason I switched was because I liked Firefox's set up better and their use of tabs. I realize IE uses tabs now, but I still find Firefox's set up more easy to maneuver around with.

I just use the Internet Explore, just because I've been using it all these years I'm too used to it to change it. I have tried Firefox, but it kind of annoys me because of all the updates and junk, but it does have the 'no script'feature, that makes me feel safe surfing the web.

I'm running Firefox on my iBook G4 OSX. I used to swear to Safari but I started having compatibility problems with Java and stuff. Firefox is pretty much the same but it runs faster than Safari.

I use Firefox. And I'm desperate for Firefox3. It's going to be a great advance. I use XP, and thank God I have it. I was supposed to get Vista, but accidentally my mom got it. And I checked it out only to realize it is a stupid/inefficient operating system.

I am using firefox because Internet Explorer is shitty for obvious reasons. Recently it has been starting to lag though. A friend of mine told me to use Opera. Ive tried it but didnt really like some things about it, I feel stupid to have forgotten which XD

Opera isnt that bad though, fast and certainly better than Internet Explorer. Its pretty convenient aswell. Gets the second place for me.

I have Windows, and I used FF. I have IE too. It MADE me download IE7 and I wanted to scream because IE7 lags like complete fuck and just won't work at all. So I had to downgrade to IE6. I'm okay with IE6..too bad it doesn't have tabs.

FF has tabs and I loooooooooove it. It's nice and fast; though a bit faster than IE6.
