So, for quite a long time I've been obsessed with the fatal frame games. I am currently playing the first one. I have beaten Crimson Butterfly in Nightmare mode, and am sad that I will probably never understand the 4th game. (only released in Japan for the wii)
I am excited to play all of them.
So I would like to know if you're a fan, and if you are...which games are your favorites? What parts creeped you out the most?
I'll go first:
My favorite will probably be Crimson Butterfly (the second one) mostly because it was the first one I played, and the story is awesome. The ending was sad (the one for normal mode)
I was mostly creeped out by sai, she is a crazy b*tch who wanted to grab me while laughing sadistically.

I've gone ahead and merged this thread with our preexisting 'Fatal Frame' thread. :)

Fatal Frame is one of the greatest additions to the video game horror gen. in my opinion c:
I've beaten both FF2 & 3 twice, (Though someone deleted my FF3 data >:c ) and I'm working on FF1 and 4.
Also, Fatal Frame's Translation Patch was released, so all you need now is a wii, SD card, and a legit copy of FF4 to play!

Ah, I can answer that, even if it was a post from 3 ago, it'll help someone... XD
Mayu smiles at blind Mio because Mio will always depend on her because she can't see. One sister will always be with the other. Remember how both of them are afraid of leaving/dying without the other?
"We promised each other we'd be together... forever..."
EDIT: Sorry about the double post, I don't know how to delete it... :C

Awesome! I'm glad that they have a way for us to know what is going on in the 4th game :D
It would've been nice to have it released in America though lol...it was close XO
Mayu was creepy because she was possessed by Crazy b*tch Sai...in my opinion...

Gah. I love Fatal Frame. =3
The ghost that falls down that spiral staircase in the second game scared the HELL out of me. I seriously screamed & threw my controller. I was going to say I was done, but I decided it was just a jump moment, so I'd keep playing. Nope. When she attacked me at the bottom of the stairs, I turned the game off and didn't play again for a week. XD
I wanna play FF4, but... I dunno if I'd have the patience to do it on the Wii. Seems like it'd be kind of a hassle. =/

I was out at my local Gamestop and I found Fatal Frame 3 for the PS2 for $19.99 used. I shouldn't of traded in my [email protected] Disaster if you use the power-ups and 90 film it shouldn't be much of a fight.

@ D1S - Yeah, I was so angry about it! But then I found out about the patch a long time ago and I ordered the game last month off of ebay, and I can tell you it's GREAT! You gotta read subs throughout the game though cause the developers are working with voice actors so they can put a dub on the patch eventually.
@ Kid - I never got scared the first couple of times I sen her, but one time she caught me off guard and I screamed XD
Also remember when you have to look through the peephole into the master doll maker's room? A Broken Neck lady popped up right all close in my TV when I was looking through it and it freaked me out too
@ Kasumi - I think FF3 came out for XBox, so if you have one you should do some snooping on ebay. c:

I would always play with my friend and we'd get sidetracked sometimes...it was those random ghosts I wasn't expecting that scared me....
For Sai I was like...*run away *run away* run away*

I always play Fatal Frame and Silent Hill game with my cousin. It's fun, but sometimes she's a backseat player, and she doesn't know how hard it is to beat the ghosts because she doesn't really play video games D:<
And yeah, remember when you have to run from her and you have to go get the doll to solve that puzzle to open the door? That part was intense :c

@Frawesome -- Ugh, I remember that part, too!
And there was also that part towards the beginning, with the ghost chick crawling out of the kimono box? Creepy as all hell!

@ Kasumi - That's great! There's also more endings and unlockable costumes for XBox versions, but to me I just like playing it on PS2 ^^
@ Kid - Oh yeah! That was so weird D:
And remember the Kusabi? I kept trying to take pictures of him but... you know, it didn't work >_<

I wanted to play this for a while, but every time I go into a Gamestop they tell me that they're hard to find. I suppose I'll just have to go without!

If you live in the U.S. you can get the ps2 and everything you need for 100$
I'm surprised you found FF3 at gamestop for $19.99, Maybe its just the older versions that are more expensive, but most of the time I find them there and they're 45-50$.
@Frawesome
Actually they only made directors cuts for FF1 and 2. FF3 is only on the ps2.

Ah, I've been looking for those games for at least two years XD
Never did find them, but watched play throughs on youtube.
Great series, great series.
Don't know who's my favourite in in them, though. If I absolutely had to chose a favourite, it would probably be Sae. (I hope I spelled that right....)
My friend first told me about it a few years ago, saying there were ghosts that popped out nowhere and all you had to work with was a camera. She said she also heard stories about it being based on a true story, and a team staying in the mansion it was supposed to have happened in. One of them apparently went missing.
It's just a story though, I haven't heard anything about it aside from what she told me. I know the story FF2 was based on, though 0-0
