ok, so here's what happened:
I was at my friend's house, and my friend's dad decided to cook dinner. We walk into the house, and the whole house stank! I mean it really reeked. My friend described it as "it smells like somebody dropped ass in here." - direct quote.
We were already horrified at the stench, but it got even worse when we discovered the stench was coming from whatever it was her dad was cooking. And to be honest, it actually looked worse than it smelled (if that was even possible.) We saw the thing her dad had been cooking, and it looked absolutely disgusting. Apparently it was supposed to be some sort of roast, but it looked like a brown, pink, slimy, raw, rotting, half-undercooked slab of meat. It also had some sort of film on it, and my friend's mother lifted it up, and it looked like she was peeling the skin off of a corpse. And to top it all off, my friend's father put some sort of brown gravy/cream sauce on it, which looked like brown bile, and contained some form of black chunks (which i don't even want to identify.) Anyways, it smelled and looked like something a sewer had backed up.
I didn't want to eat it, so I lied and said I already ate a big meal earlier that day and wasn't hungry, but my friend wanted to be nice to her father, so she took a bite of it, and had to race into the other room to spit it up (or throw it up.) Anyways, from how she described the taste of it, it apparently tasted as bad as it looked. (I have other gross food stories, but this is by far the nastiest and most recent of them.)
So, everybody has come across nasty foods, especially in the company of family. What incredibly nasty foods have you come across that your parents decided make?

Not yet, and hopefully never. That must have been nasty then to make your friend spit it out. If that was me i would have told my Dad, in very nice way X_x.

I don't think i got come across something which can make me throw up. When i am small i an taught not to waste food, so even the food is that worst, i have to finish it. >.< Your friend is rude to say "it smells like somebody dropped ass in here", because his parent cooked for him/her.

Luckily, the worst I've encountered at home is algae-infested food. Not that it isn't gross, but at least I never have to eat them, and they're promptly thrown away. My dad's a good cook, and though my mum's not that much of a chef, she can still whip up a pretty decent meal. We usually order take-outs though, so there hasn't been any nasty encounters before. (If there was, the food stall is bound to close down soon, since the food industry in Singapore is pretty harsh.)
I've got to eat a cooked snail once because of a dare, but it wasn't gross or anything, apart from the fact that you actually know that it was once a snail. It's considered a delicacy in Japanese cuisine, and they'd actually bought the food from a reputable local restaurant.
In Singapore, you seldom have to eat bad food unless you're eating home-cooked stuff. It's practically a food haven, if I say so myself.

yeah, actions speak louder than words. nobody had to really say how horrible it was, one reaction from my friend and we all knew how bad it was. all of us starting laughing. i know that's terrible but we couldn't help it. my friend apologized to her father for her reaction, and then told him to never make that dish again. from the stories of the few times he has cooked, he has never made anything tasty. but apparently this was the worst dish he has ever made, and my friend couldn't help having that instant reaction to the dish. yeah, the food was really that awful.

yeah, either she or her mother does the cooking, and i think it should be left at that. but she has a joking relationship with her parents. they say rude stuff to each other all the time, so i doubt anyone would have been offended by that comment.
also, in regards to the not wasting food comment, my family used to believe in that comment, however they don't anymore. my family has a huge obesity problem, and it's that mentality that made many members of my family overweight. so when someone leaves food at the table, they congratulate each other for portion control. so, since her and many of her family members are obese as well, i don't think that would be the best advice to give them.

Well I haven't ever had any really bad food so that is good. I think the worst was my dad's pasta which wasn't really bad but his demonstration of what pasta should act like was hilarious. He threw a bit up on the wall but it stuck there and it was rather hard to get down.

Lol! Interesting! He actually threw it and stuck on the wall? Did anyone eat the stuck on the wall part?
