I adore my dad. I adore my mum also, but sometimes I really do hate her - she's done some pretty stupid things that have screwed up my family (dad and mum are sepparated though, so by this I mean; my step brother and step dad. But everytime I get angry with her she always manages to make me laugh. I can never be serious with her D:

I never hated my parents. We disagree on a lot of things and I am very upset with them right now, though I feel I have every right to be. My twenty first birthday was on Wednesday and my Dad got back from Kuwait for a week on Friday. I figured they would make an attempt to visit me some time over the weekend to celebrate, but they didn't and they won't since my dad leaves Friday and its a school week for my three younger siblings. I would go out there if I could afford the bus ticket, it's only two hours, but the bus would cost me $115 for me and my fiance to get out there and if we are paying that much than we would be staying overnight at least so then we would need a place to stay and someone to watch our cats. I am just disappointed right now I guess.

I don't hate my parents. Of course, I have times when I feel like I just can't stand them but that happens with everyone. But there is also the idea that you can love your parents but not like them. That is how my one aunt is with my grandma ^^;

I think that there are a few reasons kids hate their parents.

One reason can be explained with "the grass is always greener on the other side". As they get to be teens, they hang out at other people's houses, or hear what other kid's parents do and are so used to the way they are being raised that it seems like the other persons family is friggin awesome, therefore thinking that their own seriously sucks. They get angry.

Another reason is that teens get to an age where they feel more adult and want their independence, but are still forced to rely on their parents, because they are not financially able to support themselves. They get angry because they can't have what they want.

The last reason i have is just this: HORMONES. Kids hormone's are raging and you tend to take it out on those that you love. That's how i was. I was always angry with my parents and gave them absolute hell. But it was because i was insecure about who i was and what i wanted to do, so i took it out on them. I was also a kid who wanted her independence.

I'm now 21 and living back at home because i want to save money. And i adore my rents.
