My niece is turning 3 at the end of the month, and she had her party today. She is getting so much bigger, it amazes me some times. I don't get to see her a lot, maybe 3 or 4 times a year, so when i do it makes me sad seeing how much she changes. I wish i could see her more... I get worried that if I don't see her for a while she might not remember me.

On another note, she had a "Disney Princess" party... I know a lot of little girls have Disney parties, especially now a days. It just makes me feel a little strange, because I was never into that so when mine is like one of the only non-Disney presents i feel bad and hope that she likes it as much as the others.

Maybe it's just me... Hopefully when I have kids they won't want one, because I'd be lost on what to do.

Has any one else ever felt like this? Feel free to share memories, experiences, and thoughts as well.

My mom's boyfriend's granddaughter is like that.

She gets a ton of Barbie stuff.

I was lucky if I even got one Barbie for my birthday.

Oh wow I have 2 little cousins, one's turning 4 and the other is turning 2. I barely get to see them! Maybe 2 times in the summer, they go up so fast. T.T
Sometimes I think they won't remember me either, Because I live in Florida and my other cousin lives up ther ewith them, so when I come around they run past me to see her T.T
But I've never had or heard of someone having a Disney princess party, so I'm as lost as you are at this. :3

I love little kids. I have a four year old niece and seven year old nephew. My niece loves Disney princesses too.

Oh god is my niece sassy though! She has no problem telling you off if she doesn't agree with you. Back once I was watchign my bro's kids for him, she would always make my mouth drop with what she said. She would tell me "You should get a boyfriend auntie sissy! Marry him" then she would point at the famous singer Gackt.

Kids; they grow up so fast these days. <(TT_TT)>

My niece is into Bratz and Disney Princesses. When I was a kid I watched Disney movies all the time but they didn't have the whole Disney Princesses emphasis for little girls that they have these days. I mostly just had barbies. I always liked to make up my own characters and whatnot anyway as opposed to pretending to be a disney princess.

I know. it makes me feel weird too, because the other guests were getting things like dolls, and games, and a tea set.. and all i could get was a couple coloring books and a box of crayons I got at Stop & Shop... (which actually she liked the best...) but it makes me feel weird, becasue every one else spends so much money on her and i can't afford to do that... Her birthday's not until the 24th but her grand parents are taking her to Disney land... for the 2nd time!!! so we won't be able to see her on her birthday.

That could screw your niece up in the long run. My parents made me think my birthday was Halloween for so long then one year once I was six mom finally cleared that up.

Yeah, and my mom bought her ballet slippers and a leotard so that she can start dance classes. I never got to do that when i was younger. Why dose she get every thing... lol 20 years is a big difreance, but still it always seemed that my Cousins had better things than I did, they got to go to cooler places, and they are kinda snobby at times as well... which makes me feel bad talking about them, becasue i love them but it makes me feel really weird.

Hmm, little kids def. are adorable. Well for most of them anyway. I've never seen them have their disney parties though. That'd be a first sight for me.

Kids grow older and older. Yesh, they are so adorable when they are little... but I also know that if you at least see them a few times a year, they'll remember you. At least... that is how my little cousins and such are like. And I only see them maybe once a year.

I never have been to disney. Never had a party there, and never really wanted a part there. XD I have had my partys at home, where I think they should be.

I hope my children don't want one either. I probably won't have the money. XD

I like listening to stories about kids, and they sound cute all the time, but for some reason, just looking at anyone under the age of 10 just.... I dunno, it makes me angry. It fills me with loathe... I don't even know why.

But your niece sounds cute.... I have a step-nephew and step-niece... I hardly ever get to see them, but I see pictures of them....

nah. In the future, Disney will probably get a bad reputation of corrupting young people's minds and creating anorexic girls and bad body images and crazy ideas in boys' heads, etc.

I never found appeal to disney princesses either. My favorite disney movie back then was the Lion King, and I knew I wasn't going to have a life in the safari or anything remotely near that...

I remember, during my young years, that people had G.I. parties (boys), fire safety themed parties (...?) and barbie. Yea, always Barbie for girls. XP

I never had 'themed' parties, luckily.

I never had "themed" birthday parties when I was little. A lot of our money went to the divorce courts or therapy sessions for me so we didn't have those kinds of "luxuries." My family would all just gather around and I'd open a few presents and we'd all have pumpkin pie because I never really was a cake person.

They are cute, if you barely see them. And if they don't talk and don't watch TV yet.

I have a little brother and let me say one thing about him.

He is sooo not cute.

He's verry annoying. He keeps on trying to make me play maplestory even when I'm not supposed to. Also, he does these really weird things just to annoy me. :<

Otherwise, he's pretty cute and fun to tease. :3

Little kids are so awesome! I love thier honesty! :D I really don't know much about "themed" parties as in our family we are all encouraged to use our imaginations. Gifts are usually art suppiles, books or something that encourages thinking. :D

I think babies are cute and very young children but kids can be a pain in the ass, including myself.

Im not so much a kid person, i never know what to do when they pick up crums off the floor and hand them to you..
its really rewarding though, when they look up to you and admire you.
my niece and 2 youngest nephews love me! lol Grace, my youngest niece likes to give me pictures she drew (she gets it from me as well as her older sister)
and when i had to baby sit them, they kept wanting me to push them on the swings, it was fun!

im weireder around other kids tho, like the ones who walk past you in wal-mart and wave .. its a little weired for me lol

I always wonder if I was anything like my daughters when I was little. They're so amusing. I love it when they practice doing things the adults do. :) Today my daughter was pretending to put coins in me and told me she was going to "put in a coin and see if you work." o.O Not sure where she picked it up, but it made me crack up. If only that's all it took to get me off Menewsha and get up to finish the housework! LOL

I've always found dolls scary. o.o
I use to get stuffed animals and stuff, I hope if I have a kid they don't like dolls. I don't think I would have the courage to buy one..or even have one in my house
