I still haven't taken a picture of my poor pumpkin! D:
I missed the alternative outfits as well. I mean, yeah, the Karin one wasn't supergreat but the one for Lucia was awesome, and Anatastia's was pretty cute as well.
They probably could have used to clothe Shania more, though the ones in Shadow Hearts: Covenant more or less...took LESS off of each character. So I suppose Shania would have worn even less. Wait, Shania and Mao were the only females that were playable...but they should have had alternatives for males as well!
I love when you can change equipment and you can see it! I think the only ones you could see a difference in were the weapons. T_T

What?? You forgot Hilda! XD
I think Hilda's alternate outfit should have been her ultimate armor. And i kind of like the idea of clothing Shania more...because I've always had this mental image of Shania's NYC outfit. The jacket and the pants would be a really light, nearly white color, and the shirt would be blue and kind of shiny...and a silver belt. ...just my idea, anyway.
Also, Johnny's alternate outfit would be obtained through a sidequest in the ninja village. It would be like Frank's outfit, except green and with a different mask. (Because Johnny is totally a younger Frank, and it's up to Shania and Lenny to make sure he doesn't end up with Frank's fate. XD)

I wished we could see the characters wearing different costumes as we buy them from the shops...if only just in battles. :3
I like how we can actually see what the armor/dress looks like in the inventory, but it would be nice to see them wear it.
S03 changes weapons only I think? I remember equipping a metal pipe for Fayt, and thought how ridiculous he looked...but that pipe actually dealt a considerable damage than a previous used weapon. XD
Off topic: Dangit! I want that ball gown in the event store! Grrr! How to make 2250 before they are sold for regular price. :domoplz:
Pardon the colorful text, I want to earn as much gold as possible for each post. XD

Shadow Hearts changes weapons too, but yeah...seeing the different armor would've been nice (that's why when I drew the picture of Johnny and Shania I took the opportunity to draw Shania in the blue cape! :D...Okay she was actually wearing the poncho...thingy in my game, but the cape's the simpler and prettier imo of the two armors.)

Oh yeah, I remember now how Yuri's claws changes. It's really been months since I played Shadow Hearts.
Yeah, adding font size and color gives an extra bit of gold. XD Not much really, but I want to get that gown. Grrrr!
I know it may sound illogical, seeing as I'm not really active on this site, but I want to make Alice pretty. So that when the time comes when it's easy to search members, and one looks for 'Alice Elliot', she's not naked like in Gaia. XD It's silly that I feel defensive of an avatar, huh?

Would it be better if I just use large instead then? Like this? XD
The first Alice Elliot is inactive in gaia, that's why I had to use ` at the end for mine. It...sort of irritates me to see an avatar with Alice's name that's left to neglect. XP
Anyway, enough of my silliness. XD
How is you? :)

Oh, the small font size doesn't bother me at all. I just don't like tweaking my own font.
Ah. That Alice. ...There's too many Yuri's and Alice's for me to keep them straight.
I'm pretty much fine, I guess. It was a little crazy yesterday and today, and I'm feeling a little tired but I still need to register for classes next semester.
But, it's the weekend. Weekend is always good.

Well, sometimes I make dumb mistakes in reading or translating (of course, I realized afterwards that everyone in the class makes dumb mistakes once in a while), so I thought he wasn't going to call on me to translate anymore.
See, since we're a small class, usually on reading days he'll call on just about everyone in the class, assuming there aren't too many grammar patterns for him to explain. (The most hilarious day was when we only got through one sentence because the rest of the time he was explaining stuff.) So on Monday when he didn't call on me, I thought I'd just gotten lucky.
Tuesday, I started wondering if maybe he was avoiding me, especially because he was starting to call on people twice.
Same thing happened on Wednesday--he was calling on a lot of people twice--and I'm just like "crap crap call on me! I'm not an idiot I know this sentence!" *outwardly following along with the reading, inwardly flailing*
I stayed behind class that day, but I wasn't really sure how to bring it up besides "sir, do you think I'm an idiot?" Which, at that point, I was really dreading an honest answer to the question. So I was just lingering, wondering how to ask, and finally he said "you look deep in thought" and I answered, "well, you didn't call on me during reading or translation Monday, Tuesday or today..."
He looked kind of startled and quickly assured me that as soon as we started another reading, I was going to be doing a lot of translating and reading.
So on one hand, yay! My teacher doesn't think I'm an idiot. On the other hand...I think I probably volunteered myself to translate a monster of a sentence.

Ah, I see.
I honestly don't like being called on. When I was in high school, I was like...the last resort. XD
It's not because I was exceptionally good, but because my classmates were sort of rebellious, never pays attention in class, that kind of people...so the teacher would call on each one, none is allowed to sit down until the correct answer was given, sure enough it would take almost the whole class before I was called.

Yeah, but I can tell you that they enjoyed irritating our teacher, I suspect some of them actually knows the right answer but for 'piss the teacher off!' reasons, they'd rather give out completely random answers.
Ah, I enjoy those times, once I tried to cut class with them and almost got caught, I was so scared! XD

XD It was the 'lulz' factor. You know, things you'd never do if you'll listen to the sensible voice in your head.
There was a time when my dad had to pick me up early because I was sick. We were about to enter the car when a bunch of my friends climbed over the wall of the school, not far from where we were parked. Lord, I was so nervous when they saw me and even approached close just to check how I was.XD I was like, 'oh no, now my dad will think I cut class with them!' But he didn't say anything, probably did the same thing himself when he was young.

But I was...carefree back then, it didn't matter what I did, I reasoned to myself I could always blame my misbehavior on alcohol. XP
Yeah, I was a bit naughty back then. I think, I only started behaving when I reached 19 or 20. XD

I received a 'comment' from the shrine a day or two ago. It's not really a comment, or a reaction to your analysis though, more like rambling to herself, what with all those ellipses. :o It reminds me of the person in that SH guild in gaia.
knowing that, would you still want to read it? Or let me just trash it? I mean, it's...bleh, how to say it? Blind and biased? It's as if she didn't read anything you've written, just used the form to, I don't know, write something bad about Alice? :o

Message = I don't like Alice that much for the same reasons I didn't like Aeris Gainsborough in Final Fantasy VII...yes she was a damsel in distress character who, much like Aeris, was special in her abilites and sacrificed herself to save the world, so to speak.
An act of selflessness that generated unending love, pity and respect from fellow characters and fans alike.
In truth...its boring...she is boring...and I have no pity for her character...sure she loved Yuri...big woop....Alice could have been a far more interesting character and her goody two shoes demeanor is enduring yet very very dull...why didn't she ever kick ass? Karin was not a bad character. She kicked ass...and was brave enough to pursue her feelings and put up with all this talk of the incredible Alice...Yuri's guilt baggage. (he felt responsible for her death much in the same way Cloud Strife felt about Aeris) Someone Karin felt helplessly overshadowed by...

Er, just copy pasted it as is. XD Don't know if the narrow comment box had anything to do with how she wrote, but she...stinks in writing!

I thought of it, but I never got started on one for Johnny/Shania, actually. >.>;;;
As for the message...I don't think the fan was really paying attention to the game. For one thing, Alice never sacrifices herself to save the world. There's absolutely nothing in the game which supports that statement. She only once sacrifices herself, and it's at a time when there is no outstanding threat to the world, it's just her and Yuri. She sacrifices herself for him.
And if this somehow makes her a cliche character, than Yuri and Karin are too, because they'd do the exact same thing. Yuri? In the good ending of Shadow Hearts 1, he willingly enters the soul contract for a shot at saving Alice. This is in a way exactly like Orpheus entering the Underworld for a chance to bring back Eurydice, except Alice isn't dead yet (and she's not Yuri's wife yet, either). It's entering a realm that's taboo for mortals to enter. It takes a lot of guts. It's sacrificing yourself for another person, just like Alice did.
Karin also sacrifices herself for Yuri, just like Alice did. She decides to become his mother--after hearing that his mom met a terrible end, after hearing from Yuri that her life before her death wasn't exactly roses and she complained about it a lot--why? For the same reason Alice did: she loved Yuri so much that she didn't want to see a world without him. Which is exactly what would've happened if she hadn't gone back.
As for Alice not kicking ass--she stands up to Masks, Fox Face, and Albert Simon on her own. She is one of the most popular characters for being on the team because of her usefulness--she can heal (yes, just because healers aren't waving bladed weapons around doesn't mean they're useless) and can do kickass magical damage.
And...*reaches the last part* Jeez. If this is really about "Alice sucks because she made Yuri feel too guilty to get with Karin!"...that has nothing to do with Alice, and a lot more to do with Yuri (and Cloud, in the case of Aeris). Or did this person miss the part in both games where both guys were emotionally screwed up long before either gal came along?
And seeing as I already addressed most of that in the Yuri/Alice (with side-dose of Karin) essay, I'm guessing e-mailing them about it would be pointless. -.- People need to pay attention to the gaaaaaame...although given the "Alice sacrificed herself for the world" statement, I kind of wondered if that person had played SH1.

Nah, she's blind as a bat...nuu wait, that's a grave injustice to bats, they at least use other means to 'see'. Yeah, me told ya she didn't read a word you've written, just used the form as her personal soapbox to croak her grievances against Alice. XP
I'll just save everything you've written, create a page in the shrine for future er, reference. Meaning, every time I receive the same 'argument', which actually is what I see in most Alice haters, I'll just direct them to that page. >:3
Are you still planning to write Johnny/Shania? But then, did the lack of fan appreciation for SH:FtNW dampened your enthusiasm? :(
I saw another user here who pm me about SH and...well, you know how people are when they've played the first 2 games and wants more Yuri. :(
And, I sent you a trade. :) I was going to sell it to get my gown but TwoStar donated them to me, so I'd like to help you with your quest. :) You can sell it at the exchange if you wish, although don't follow the price guide, that's ooooollllddd! If you want a companion to chat with you in the exchange just tell me and I'll join you. :3
