I've enjoyed the "Shadow Hearts" series since its prequel, "Koudelka" came out.
As for fanart, would avatar art count? Here's one of my cosplays from site called IMVU. Yes, it's Hilda, from "Shadow Hearts 3" :)

Well, the top looked like it was stretched to fit Karin. I mean her back is totally exposed to the waist I think? In here, it would be a subject of teasing like 'the tailor ran out of cloth' the joke wouldn't work there I suppose, because people can afford to buy loads of clothes, but here? There are those who had to make do with what they have, esp school uniforms, there are times when the cloth is inadequate for lack of money/can't afford the extra half yard of cloth needed, and the tailor will just have to do the best he can. So, most of the time, the children comes to school with very tight uniforms or skirts that are too short.
In Karin's case, I really don't think that was the original style of the shirt, more like a modified top to fit her. :3 Hand-me-downs are supposed to be like 'from oldest to youngest' but in Karin's case it was the reverse. At least, that's what I think. :3
@Dark Evangel: I heard about IMVU from Mushy, but I have no idea what that site is all about. Hilda sure looks naughty, she looks like she's about to feast on Johnny again.

Wow, that looks really good, Dark Evangel. I've heard of IMVU, but never really checked it out...maybe I should.
I don't remember the back of the shirt that well, maybe you're right. (But if they were going to modify clothes so much...shouldn't they have met the Magimel brothers first?!)

Yep. So the quest, as I had it, is done...
Except now I'm poking around in the exchange for a cloak of healing. I was surprised to see someone's got it listed for a price I can actually afford. :)
Thanks for your help.

Yes, IMVU is a good place for cosplaying one's favourite characters, even those from "Shadow Hearts". Essentially it's both a giant bulletin board and a chat program - you can be yourself, or whoever you like, and people are friendly there, with very little drama (certainly not like MySpace...). Even Alice Elliot:
I am inclined to agree about Karin's clothing, since Cornelia was obviously a little girl when she died, with Gepetto having based that doll on her.
Try not to go off-topic with the inventory, people :)

Except Cornelia the doll seems like she's at least started puberty, given the "Beautiful Fool" outfit...
Alice looks really odd...I guess it's cause of how angular she is?

No, the costume is quite accurate, although I had to improvise the book. Since Alice literally had lots of books in the original game, it wasn't hard to find one that resembled one she might have used. Personally, I find the look perfect.
Speaking of Alice, it's a shame she couldn't be resurrected at all for the second game, as she was my favourite in the first. There was always something endearing about hitting someone over the head with a book, or blasting them with a Freemason pyramid :D

I realize the costume is accurate in details, it just doesn't look right to me at all. IMVU's style is really cartoonish.
Well, the series wouldn't make much sense if Alice could be resurrected...I mean, Koudelka and the first game pretty much drum it into your head with three different resurrection attempts that you're 100% more likely to create a monster than raise the dead.

I sometimes pretend SH:C never existed.
Part of the reason why I resent SH:C is because Alice isn't part of my party anymore, I miss her terribly, it's not the same playing as Yuri without her by his side. :(
That and the stinky endings. XP Ohhh, not to mention how I dislike the cast...aside from Yuri of course. XD
Someone from the shrine said that he got all 3 Shadow Hearts and had just finished the first one. Claimed he's not as impressed with SH:C like the first. I just hope he's more open to SH:FtNW. I grow weary of comments that praise the 2 games and diss the third. :( I don't even know how to respond anymore. I'll probably snap anytime soon if this continues. XD

Meh, to me it's just "well I can't like the second game, because I liked how some characters were in the first and then that got totally screwed by the second."
Albert Simon's characterization is crazy, and though Kato's Covenant personality could be seen as a natural progression of his SH1 character... I just didn't like it as much.
Plus, he became like this crazy-mad warlock in a year. Which isn't completely implausible (look at how much Yuri, or really any RPG character grows in strength over a year), but--ambassador my foot! What was he doing? They never said. :( *is curious* I dunno, it's just--what even put into his head the thought of using Kawashima's DNA for a clone in the first place, especially since he knew the clone wouldn't be the same as Kawashima?
I guess when it really comes down to it, though, I don't really know why I like Covenant more than FtNW. Because it's true that Covenant is more polished than FtNW. At the same time, while the characters were fun, they didn't really catch my attention. I like...Gepetto. :D And that's pretty much it. But I really like the FtNW characters, even though I can't really say how, overall, the FtNW cast is different from the Covenant cast. And I feel more sympathy for the FtNW villains than the Covenant villains--Kato I felt sorry for at first, but eventually I wanted to kick him. Hard.

I still wish someone would do a cosplay of Edna and/or Ricardo. Or has it already been done and I just missed it? XD
I'd try dressing up as Edna, but I don't know where I'd get the money for the dress or anything. It seems like it'd end up being expensive.

Cosplay in real life. I don't really see virtual avatars as "cosplay", isn't it more of a fan art?

Well I take it literally as 'costume play' so whether it's an avatar we dress up or we do it irl, I'll call it cosplay. :3

Hehe, that's usually as I see it, because when I think of fanart, I think of something that someone has drawn themselves. ^^; Instead of dressing up something. I just think of avatars as a representation of ourselves, especially on IMVU with that Alice Elliot. I just thought that was kind of neat, I hadn't thought to look on IMVU for cosplay items for Shadow Hearts.
Makes me wonder if they have Koudelka outfits. ^^;

I guess that's a good point.
Although now I'm confused, because I thought IMVU was like Second Life, where you can actually alter the clothes. I guess that's not true?
(I would so dress up avatars on Second Life as characters if I had the design know-how--and if I could make money on that game. *sigh* I definitely don't want to put real money into it!)

You buy clothes. Some people make them and sell them, but you have to hope there are some good artists out there to do a decent job on the clothing. >>; Which doesn't happen often. There's no altering anything.
But I just thought it would be neat to check and see if they've got clothes for Koudelka. I doubt it; Koudelka isn't as popular as Shadow Hearts...and that's hardly popular. D: Poor neglected prequel. ;-;

Ah. In Second Life you can make clothes--they distribute the templates on the SL site, but you have to have some an art program and a little SL money. I wanted to try making clothes for Shania, but I never could make any money. :(
SL allows you to edit clothes too, shortening or lengthening them, making them baggy or wrinkled or tight, but sometimes the results look a little odd. (Like when I did a "Shania as a hooker" joke picture, I turned Shania's shirt into a strapless bra by adjusting lengths for the torso and sleeves.)
Koudelka doesn't seem like it'd be impossible, even if artists haven't focused on it...I mean, none of the character's clothing seems very unusual, so I'd think you'd at least be able to find something close. But then, it doesn't sound like there are that many people making clothes, so maybe they don't have a good range of clothing. >.< That'd be pretty annoying.
