I'm surprised by how often "writer" has come up so far.

Professional skateboarding seems like it'd be such an awesome job. Well, not for me, since I have no coordination. But it's fun to watch the competitions.

I have a number of careers I plan to go into, all revolving around my crafting. My main source of income will be my yarn shop where I will also teach knitting and crochet classes as well as offer master classes with guest teachers. I will sell my knitted and crocheted items, and other crafted goods. I also hope to open my own clothing and jewelry line when I get the funding.

I have several different ideas, but somehow I like them all.

When I was little, I wanted to be a vet because I love animals, and I still do.But I want something else xD

I'd like to get a job in the fashion industry ._.; But that could be a pain.

Or photography. (I'm always taking pictures xD)

I'm also interested in Psychotherapy.

And also in translating xD But my Japanese skills are still very poor.

My dream career is to be a CSI. I really love forensic science. I mean, all that stuff intrigues me and I have such a strong stomach for all the gore and stuff. Blood doesn't bother me, and dead bodies are kind of cool.

I may be a freak, but it is really awesome. I think I could be good at it too. I get along with people, and can calm someone down easily. I have an eye for small detail, and I am a little OCD about my work. So it'd be really easy to go and collect stuff. I think maybe even a coroner would be cool. I mean, it'd be really lonely, only having dead bodies as things around. But I really could do it.

I also have a dream to be a culinary artist. I love playing with food, and making it pretty. I can make roses from radishes. I can create a cactus from a zucchini, even a mouse and other things. It really is a passion to work with food. I enjoy it so much.

I'm just not sure. People think I'm odd because I tell them that I like forensic science and food. Usually the two don't mix together well. I think they are such wonderful things. I'm such a nerd sometimes. xD
Enough babbling about me. xD

I've always wanted to be a musician.

Like, in a band.

It always feels kind of weird when I tell people that.
They just snort and roll their eyes. ;D

I'd love to be a nature/scenery photographer.
I've also been thinking about a career in modeling, though it's not my main choice right now.

  • Shrii: That sounds so awesome! :D

My dream job has been an artist of some kind ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil. For the past three or four years, I've been focusing on photography and I hope to be able to make something of it, preferrably fashion/editorial photography along with personal, more artistic and creative stuff.
Writer, painter or musician all sound great as well, but I think I have more skills in photography. If I could do all of those and make enough money to get by, I'd be able to die happy. :D

I haven't ever really studied any kinds of art though. I've taken a couple of courses but they haven't really taught me that much, so I sort of gave up on taking courses on someting so personal as art. I'd much rather learn by looking at the work of others and trying to acheive what I like in their work (while making it mine).

I would love to do anything that lets me write creatively, but I would love to be a Playwrite more than anything. I've been writing plays for less than a year though. My drama teacher suggested I take it up and I ended up being really good at it. I recently read that one of his plays are being published, so that inspired even more to become a Playwrite.

I have 4 real options:
Defence attorney
Physologist
Pastery Chef
ASL interpreter
I know they are very differnt, but oh well.
I really have wanted to go to law school for ever, tho i really dont have that good of grades and i am really lazy. So i thought that while im in colage (im in 10th grade) I would study ASL and become an interpreter. Maby take a law class or two to see if i like it. For the physicology, there is a course as a senior that i have been looking for ward to since i frist got to highschool. So i will know if i like it. The Physcology would replace the lawer. I could see myself doing the Interpreter, bakery and one other in my life. I would really like to acually own my own bakery. Not just work at one. that might take a buisness degree. I dont know how that would work tho...So that would be my very rough 10th grade plan of my working life...i hope it will work tho! I could not stand to have a dest job. Rigth now im working as a lifegaurd at a local pool...

Good luck!

hmm... my dream job is to be an antique appraiser on the Antiques Roadshow or an archaeologist... That would be so much fun :)

As for getting to my dream, I plan on going to Israel next summer for a field school, so hopefully I get accepted into it.

But will I eventually end up doing my dream job? Probably not... I don't think I have a dominant enough personality to get where I want to be. But who knows... maybe oneday!!

Once i graduate from High School I'd like to go to the University nearby and study for a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Linguistics.
Once I get the Degree, I'll be able to become almost anything I want. If I was to further that education I could get more complex jobs like becoming a Terminologist or a speech coach for actors. Maybe even work for the government or high-tech industries. >.>;

I'd probably like to teach English to foreign students. Maybe get paid to live in Japan to teach? xD
I wouldn't mind, I'm very good at Japanese. ^w^

If I decide not to go for that, then I'd like to be an artist.

My dream job would let me procrastinate and leave me with a lot of time to go online, travel, and be with loved ones.

I think self employed web designer would be great!

But since I haven't seen any talent in that area yet (taking a course) I'm looking more into being an attorney at law.

I love helping people, and I've been ridiculed for reading the school handbook and knowing the rules a lil too much.

I want to study law with asian studies so they could go hand in hand and I can help other Asian Americans - I've seen my dad struggle with understanding laws too often growing up and we luckily had a close family friend who was good with that stuff.

I'm currently a web and graphic designer at a local design marketing firm, and while this particular position is perhaps not my dream job, the career definitely is. I love designing and it's something that I seem to have a knack for...I worked in the field for two years before I started getting any formal education on it, and I did it as a hobby long before that.

My real dream job is to have my own firm...I've discovered, since getting this job, that I love business almost as much as designing, so I'd like to immerse myself in all aspects of it. I've already joined a local chapter of an international networking organization and I absolutely love it.

So...there's my capitalism meets bohemia dream. :D

I have no idea what my dream job would be. I finished my degree in physics. But at the moment Im working as a software development engineer. Datawarehouse and database stuff, i like the part where you try to find out why something does not work properly is like abit of a detective job :)

Anyway when I finished my degree I thought I would be working in a oncology institute doing dosimetry...but for now i dont see that happening.
So my plans are staying at the current job for now. Finishing a postgraduate in modeling economy systems and than I will see :)

Beta Tester for video games.

Get this you get paid for playing video games that have yet to be released! That would have to be the sweetest job I could think of and hope for.

Well, Charis-mae, we're somewhat similar. I'd originally wanted to be a novelist, then gave up on that because I never finish anything I start writing. So now my dream job is... an editor! That's right. I want to be one of those people getting after people like you to finish their novels! I'd also like to work on editing translated Japanese texts (I don't think my Japanese will get good enough to edit English texts translated to Japanese).

I think I'd really love a job that would allow me to use my art skills too, but I've never been able to come up with an appropriate, and feasible, job for that sort of thing. So editing is good. (Who knows? Maybe the books will have pictures. And somebody needs to figure out what the cover art will be; though that's probably more a producer's job.)

Edit: Another job I would adore is to be a professional singer. That will never happen though. Problem A: I get extremely nervous in front of people; even just one person if I know I'm being judged. Problem B: I lack training (though I suppose that wouldn't be too tough to remedy). Problem C: Getting discovered is hard and I'm not assertive enough to try to go out on my own. Problem D: Lots of people can sing well.

My absolute dream job would be a critic of something, either of food or to read or watch some form of entertainment. However, as far as I know there are an increasing number of reviewers who do it for free so I don't think its a very realistic option for me. I'd imagine to be a critic you'd have to articulate your opinion very well, and I'm not that good at English or any other language for that matter...

So instead I'm studying a Bachelor of Social Science which hopefully will lead to an interesting career as a community service worker.

Oh wow, that's actually kind of scarily similar, since I was also considering being an editor. I've always been very particular when a sentence is awkward or a word is misused.

It's still a job I'd like to do, but my university doesn't really have a program geared for editing. (Also, the minor for editing starts with this one class that's been making my head spin so far this semester.)

Hmm, I thought editors were pretty much the ones responsible for the entire book, including artwork. I mean, I know they have to get approval for their choices and answer for them, but I thought they're usually the ones responsible for any decision.

Good luck with editing!

I am currently volunteering at my dream job. I want to be an interpreter. I am studying the languages I want to work with (Spanish and French) but I currently have a full time job that has nothing to do with being an interpreter.

I'm kind of taking a break to save up some money, as the next step for me is to studying at a foreign university. I can kind of say I'm working towards my dream job, but not actively.

I'm happy with the track I'm on though.

I want to publish a book of children's stories, but that'll take a while.

My dream job is a zoologist. Yes, the zookeepers. I want to work at one of those zoos where they rescue animals or try to help endangered species, though. I refuse to work at a normal one.

If you want to work in Australia the Zoo in my hometown is awesome. It is the largest free range zoo in the southern hemisphere and has one of the oldest breeding programs in Australia, which started out breeding black and white rhinos.
