*to Bunai* I prefer dude, kid is just weird and on here you have no idea how old someone is so...call me dude or Chief. XD
I know Rumiko Takahashi is still reigning in Japan for her stories and she is good but she does trip over herself. She gets loosy goosy at the end of her stories and it ends up being a big waste of time...most of the time. XD
*to Runihura* I heard Chrono Crusade had a sucky ending. T^T Negima...it's only to be expected, original Hellsing I totally agree and Loveless...you can't pay me enough money to see it. XD
As for Samurai Champloo I was watching it and after it ended I sat there thinking..."WHAT?"
*to Internal_Dragon* I tried to read Vampire Game's but couldn't get passed the first volume. ><;
*to Vii* As for Tsubasa goes with the manga I really enjoy it and hope the anime is similar but I can imagine it gets a little boring as the storing goes...or at least repetitive.

Loveless wasn't a bad anime (painfully awkward at times) At least not until the end. I lvoed it, course I'd yet to read past book 1 of the manga. I'm a real fan a Zero <33
But I hated how they didn't answer anything and left it so unconclusive. Seimei is alive? well then, tell us that unstead of letting us guess that's him at the end! Not to mention, how is he a live? who tried to kill him? WHAT'S GOING ON!?! DX
Negima still pains me to this day. Great anime I was in love with it...til then...

I've been let down by so many popular titles, that I don't even bother reading them anymore. The first popular title that was a letdown was InuYasha. It was great for the first ten or so volumes, but after that, the plot just kept repeating itself. Over and over and over again. :(. I gave up on it at volume 21, where I realized that it would never change. :(
Another letdown was Naruto. This is such a popular series that I figured would have to be good, based on the hype. It didn't seem too boring, so I picked up the first volume. I liked that enough, but when I reached the second volume, I realized about halfway through that it was the single most boring thing I ever read. I hated how Kakashi belittles Sakura after she does as the task required before Naruto and Sasuke(he thinks to himself immediately that 'Naruto and Sasuke are much better.')
Aside from the blatant sexism, the plot itself wasn't that great. It just dragged on for 100 something pages. :(. Even though I found the second volume boring, I decided to try the third one anyway, just to see if things improved. They didn't, so I gave up on it.

i believe the mangaka for Naruto just doesnt know much about creating female characters.
they are either used for background decoration. or just weak in fighting.

if worse comes. you can stare at their boobs to past the time

I've actually been quite let down by a few animes. I haven't started reading manga, I'm in the UK so it's hard to get hold of any unless from somewhere like Amazon.
The recent anime I was a little dissapointed with was Ouran High School Host Club at the end. The anime was great all the way through but then left a cliff hanger and has never been continued. I really wanted to see the main characters, Haruhi and Tamaki kiss but they never did! > <
And they could've continued the anime although there are soo many rumours around that they might, I hardly doubt it.

Sakura is a weak, obnoxious little Sasuke fangirl at first. But she gets a LOT better later on. She's one of my favorite female characters, if not my top favorite, of the whole series.

And Tsunade = awesome.

But yeah...the first volumes are painful to read. Even in the recent chapters, I don't like the plot so much...but the characters make it worth reading.

*to Runihara* Yeah, I thought that one was gonna be a good one...till I found out it was yaoi. XD After that it's in someone else's hands but I'll have to take your word for it. The Negima manga is good but the anime freaked me out a little cuz it felt like the girls were pedophiles towards Negi. ><;

*to Jenn_heart* Typical Rumiko Takahashi theme. ><;

*to Javert* That's the one I stopped on as well and realized I was wasting WAY too much money on the series. ><; Just wait for the last book to come out and then read it, I'm sure you'll easily be able to understand the situation. Naruto manga was pretty good and I didn't like Sakura at all so I loved Kakashi for his humor and whatnot. XD

*to Cloita* I wish manga was more available to you because sometimes it beats the anime version of itself hands down. ><; I was sad about Ouran too but figured it was the "right" kinda of ending...but still disappointed. XD I keep hearing rumors about that too and Fruits Basket but I also have doubts.

I definitely think that the manga series, Monster, was the biggest let-down. The series is one of my favorites because it has great characters and the plot is so suspenseful and unique. You literally can't stop reading it! However, when it ended, I was pretty angry. It didn't tie up all of the loose ends and just didn't have the dramatic ending that it should have had. And my biggest problem with Monster is that there was a huge emphasis on the importance of names. So why don't you ever find out the real names of twins? Their mother tells Dr. Tenma, but their names are never actually revealed to the reader. So what, does that mean that names actually aren't all that important?

For that matter, the ending of 20th Century Boys was pretty disappointing as well. I'm worried about Pluto now... :(

*to Pixore* I was actually going to try and collect that series but ended up getting behind in my other ones before I could pick up a new manga. ><; I still kinda want to read it but I've heard about the ending not being as great as the journey.

Whoever told you that the ending wasn't as great as the journey was absolutely right. The plot was enthralling and it was really difficult to put the series down. I read all 18 volumes of the manga in a few days because I just couldn't stop. There's a huge build up toward the end and you're led to believe that the ending is going to be nothing short of amazing. But... it's not really all that great. I mean, there is a major revelation in the ending, but it seems like there was still something missing. There were several unanswered questions and it was really, really disappointing to realize that you're never going to get those answers.

However, despite the ending being a let-down, I would still recommend the series. I mean, the journey is definitely worth it, even if you know that the ending is not going to be that great. And the ending was fitting, so you don't have to worry about an ending that you'll dislike just because it's weird or something completely unexpected happens. The ending works, just feels a bit incomplete. :(

*to Pixore* Sometimes the middle of an anime/manga is more important than the end and I think I'll still go read it anyways. Usually the anime/manga doesn't have the exact ending we want but as long as it's an actual ending and some things are tied up I'm alright. But if it's like Inuyasha where nothing is resolved and the journey was longer and more dragged out then it needed to be then I'd avoid it altogether. ><; Sorry, I like to rag on that series because it took too long and was hyped up so high only to come to that conclusion. Anyways Monster doesn't sound like a total letdown from what you're saying but it depends on the person I guess.

Inuyasha was pretty disappointing for me too, after awhile. At first I really liked it. But then I started to notice that it was just the saame thing happening over and over and over again. So now I'm stuck with all this Inuyasha stuff that I don't even really want anymore. Dx

Other disappointments... I'd have to say some of the biggest are Full Moon(O Sagashite), and Uta Kata.
I watched some of Full Moon because I had been reading the book awhile back, but I was like :shock: as soon as it started. The voices were terrible, and the colors weren't accurate, and overall it was just really really cheesy. I mean, the manga kind of was too, but the anime was so much worse.
I watched Uta Kata pretty much all in one night, because I watched this slash amv of it that was really good. So I was like "Oh, I think I'll watch that. n.n And the shoujo-ai can't be that bad." But the whole thing was kind of stupid, and there really was almost no guy/guy anyway. u.u

@Runihura: Yea, the Loveless anime was bleh. I was like "are you kidding me" when it ended. But you should read more of the manga, it makes a lot more sense. And there's more Zero. (:

Inuyasha really started out great. I was totally obsessed, and it was all I thought about all day. After around ep 90 though, I got totally bored and it got even more draggy. And the ending...if I knew the ending was like that then I wouldn't have watched it.

Hehe, it looks like everyone has been disappointed by Inuyasha. It had such a wonderful and promising start, only to repeat itself over and over again. I mean... Kikyou died how many times? And then everything you'd see her come back, it would be all suspenseful and the jealousy between Kikyou and Kagome would begin. The same thing would happen everything either Naraku or Sesshoumaru made an entrance. Everyone was spellbound by them... except the reader. I mean, they can only make a dramatic entrance so many times before it becomes redundant and loses its effect. :roll:

It's really a shame since Inuyasha first seemed like it would be one of Rumiko Takahashi's best series. It seemed like it would be more structured than Ranma 1/2, yet not as depressing as Maison Ikkoku. However, in the end, her other series are the ones that are worth reading, not Inuyasha.

*to V!rtual Insanity* Exactly! I was near obsessed with it as well and collected up to novel 21 of the series and finally gave up. ><; Eventually I'm going to give up these novels but I'll keep the figures I have of Inu, Kagome, Miroku, and Sess. They're still cool but the series...Oi! As for Full Moon I tried to read the first book but got stuck. It just didn't interest me as much as I was hoping it would and I'm glad I didn't buy it and then read it later. ><; I never bothered with the anime but I love the people behind AMV Hell that made fun by using a chipmunk sung "I can fly" for the main character when she was performing. I died laughing. XD

*to Nagahashi_Miharu* Exactly, I wouldn't have spent 5 years of my life watching that show if I knew how the "ending" was going to turn out. ><;

*to Pixore* You definitely hit the nail on the head. It started out strong and original, looking promising and filled with awesome animation...but it proved too much for Rumiko Takahashi to stay away from the repetitive storyline and never ending pointless "I love you!...But I don't!" scenes that teased us to the point where we already knew nothing was going to happen. You are dead right about the dramatic crap for Sess and Naraku...we already know they're suppose to be badass...we get it. ><;

Ugh, yea I totally know how you feel. It was one of my first animes, so I became pretty obsessed, and bought all these plushies, and action figures, and... a calendar. u.u
I was even Sango one year at Otakon.

LOL, I bet it isn't even that far from what her real voice sounds like. xD
I'll have to check that out. Do you remember what it was called?

Well I was upset but thankfully it wasn't my first anime. Mine was Sailor Moon when I was in third grade so I'd been watching anime for a bit but Inuyasha was one of the big turning point anime I guess. I also have a bunch of stuff and almost went to an anime convention as Kagome but decided I didn't want to wear a skirt. XD *so far I've only cosplayed Ed Elric from FMA but it was fun as hell. >w<* Anyways Inu should be voted biggest let down in anime history.
You can find it on youtube, it's called AMV Hell 3 and its about an hour long but all of it is hilarious. >w<

*to Bunai* XD Long time no see! Thank you for visiting >w<. I may add another question soon but right now let downs will be the main thing so if you've seen an anime that is either a let down or just plain bad come rant about it. >w<

*to V!rtual Insanity* Sweet action, DBZ was my second big anime! I still love it and am going to get the Season 4 boxset when it comes out *cuz it features Trunks! >w<* You got your mom to Cosplay!? O.o Tell me your secret so I can make my mom being an anime mommy *throw an apron on her and have her holding a frying pan/ladle. XD*
Indeed, I hope you find AMV Hell alright

Spoilers will be in white font ;]

I completely agree on Inuyasha, when I told my friends that like manga and anime the ending of Inuyasha, they were like WHAT?!! And I was kind of like Oops...you didn't know that? xP

One I was disappointed in was Zettai Kareshi, just overall. The fact that she chose a ROBOT over a human being realllly bugged me.

Also, the ending for Ceres: Celestial Legend, I was kind of dissatisfied with that ending as well ;/

Another would be the anime for Full Moon wo Sagashite, I was ok with the ending for the manga, but the ANIME. UGH, I just wanted to STRANGLE myself.

Hm...another one that I can think of would be the anime for Kaze Kaitou Jeanne. I also wanted to strangle myself D:

*to Amiiu* Yeah, I think anyone who's watched Inu will agree that the anime sucked. I'm hoping there's an actual end in the manga but I'm starting to have my doubts but oh wellz. ><; I haven't heard of Zettai before but I know Ceres and that bites because I've always loved Yu Watase's books. This is probably the second time someone has been disturbed with the ending of Full Moon. XD

Trunks was always my favorite. n.n
Have you heard about the live action movie??

Well my mom's not exactly an "anime mom"...
I wish though. She just likes dressing up in cute outfits and getting attention, plus she'll do almost anything if I beg her enough. xD
It was so funny, because she couldn't even remember Kagomes name, and all these people were coming up and hugging her and trying to talk to her about InuYasha, and she was just like "@[email protected] ..." the whole time. I do this to people pretty much every year actually. I always make my familly who know almost nothing about anime cosplay. :lol:
One year we even got interviewed by the Funimation channel.

Indeed! He was my first official Bishonen. >w<
I've heard about the movie for almost six years now *yes, they were talking about it then. ><;* So far they keep saying they got the rights and such but last I heard they tanked the project and gave up on it so I wouldn't get my hopes up too high. Then again no actor can really measure up to these memorable characters. >w<
And that's interesting. I dunno if I'd make my family, who don't know anything about the show they're going to cosplay do it, but I'd make them watch a couple episodes to get a feel of their character. I was lucky enough that my two brothers watch Fullmetal Alchemist with me so I got to be Ed while the two of them were Mustang and Havoc. We got a LOT of pictures taken. >w< As for my mom we were watching Jackass the movie a moment ago and the guys *along with Johnny Knoxville* dress up as pandas and run around Tokyo. It was awesome and I proposed the idea to my mom and two bros and she said if we had the costumes she would do it at the next anime con. XD So now we gotta go get skateboards and such.
