I think lately I've been a little too proud.
Recently I've discovered I'm more of a talented musician than I thought I was. I thought my singing voice sucked, and just a few days ago I found out, I actually sing pretty good, and pretty similar to the singing style of some of my favorite artists. Anyhow, I'm in what you might call a band, where I play guitar and sing with another girl. The part where too much pride comes in is with her. I really appreciate her being there to tell me what I'm doing right and wrong, but she's really really... Not intelligent... And it feels terrible saying it, but she's not smart at all. She can't hold up good conversations, she couldn't write songs to save her life, so I do all the songs, I do all the music.

example: One time we were filming a short video of ourselves playing one of our songs we're working on, just to get an idea of how it sounded. Suddenly in the filming she stops singing, and starts talking, "Well this is lame! If we're making a video shouldn't we at least discuss something, this sounds really bad too!" Truth be told, before we'd started filming she said she loved it, and how that part went. Grr it just annoys me...

So...
Am I being self-centered?
Should I just tough it out and see how things go?
Other suggestions?

Thanks for reading it ;D

I don't think you are too proud or self-centered, atleast I didn't get that image of you.
I know it can be hard to deal with some people, especially if you have to work with an airhead like that o_o (was it mean for me to say that?).
Soo don't worry x) just try to put up with her :3

Yeah airhead seems to fit her. I guess, I'm a very down to earth person, and she isn't at all, so maybe we just sort of clash sometimes. But yes, she is difficult to work with.

Maybe you should talk to her about it...? I'm not sure, but I know alot of people used to assume I was stupid and dense. But I'm not at all! People would just assume that because I'm a very shy person and pretty much suck at communicating- therefore it would appear that I just wasn't clever enough to have my own opinion, but really, I just wasn't brave enough to put it out there. Maybe shes just insecure about herself, and is trying to hold back because shes worried.

'Airhead, Not Intellegant, can't keep up good conversations'
From what I'm hearing, I'm kinda like her. xD
This is what my friends do:

- Tell me off.
- Be violent.
- Ignore me. T___T

But, then they give me huggies and say sorry, so it's not the same is it?

Anyways, you're not being self-centered, I think you should feel that way if she said she liked it at first.
If I was you, I would get uber-pissed and kick her out. With OR without the others consent. But, I may just be a tad bit moody at times.

Well sometimes she can be a little too obnoxious, she's just mentally clumsy, and she's a bit slow. I don't have a problem with her being slow, but she also has a short temper, and just blurts out things when she gets angry. Most of the time she's really awesome, but I prefer to have someone who is more brilliant minded as a band mate.

As of now it's just me and her in the band, but I really want to bring another one of my friends in [will talk to her about it tonight]. This friend does lack common sense, but me and her have excellent conversations, and she's a brilliant pianist, which is another sound we need in the band. Right now we just have guitar and vocals.

Thank you all for your suggestions and advice!

I think you should probably point out that she did agree to it earlier, and maybe invite her to participate more in making decisions.
