I was a picky child. I didn't even eat kid foods, let alone veggies. Rice and noodles was all I liked, nothing else. I like some veggies, but I think what really killed it for me was overcooked mussy veggies. I hate mushy things beyond reason. Now there are actually more veggies I'll eat than fruits, but that comes down to being allergic to all my favorite fruits.

Its simple. Its because most of the vegetables are green and crunchy. And green and crunchy is not appealing for humans. Its the food for cattle and the like.

Humans eat candy. <3

No idea why kids like fruit and not veggies.

Although I have to say I hate most vegetables.

I love potatoes and . . . um . . . that's about it.

Although I could like more veggies but because I tend to label them differently. If I like it then it is a fruit however if I don't like it then it is a vegetable.

It might have to do with what the mother eats during her pregnancy.
But I dont know.
I guess part of the answer has to do with our culture.
Veggies aren't mentioned that much, though fruits are.

And veggies look disgusting. Grah.
And they come from out the ground. :p

Most are too bitter. A lot of kids have a sweet tooth, so something bitter or nasty tasting isn't going to appeal to them.

I love carrots. <3

with the exceptions of a few vegetables, i love eating vegetables. it's the whole fruit group that i have issues with eating. it's partly because when i want something sweet, i grab a sugary product rather than some fruit. but it's mainly because i happen to be weird like that.

I friggin LOVE vegetables.
I can eat them and eat them and never ever get sick of them! They are so darned good asnd I dont see why kids get all "OMG NO GROSS" about them.
The thing is, a lot of kids think that because they are healthy, that they wont taste good.
So what you do is you sneak vegetables into their diet somehow without them knowing, and when they go MMM WHAT IS THIS? you say, VEGGIES. muahahaha.
Well atleast that is how I would do it O-o!

I've never been a vegetable fan.
I refuse to eat any green vegetables.
Anything green can't be good for human consumption.
I did eat a pea once when I was 8, but since then I've avoided all greenery.
I don't even eat green candy, as someone may have snuck a vegetable inside of it

I don't mind things like carrots (only if they're raw though, cooked ones are just soggy and gross), potatoes and onions.

I grew up thinking veggies were gross 'cause my older sister said they were. Later in life I finally tried them and loved them. My hubby and I never made a fuss about veggies and our kid scarfs them up. When we get a salad at a restaurant we have to get an extra plate to share w/him. It's hilarious seeing the faces of the other people in the restuarant when my 4 year old is digging into salad likes its an ice cream sundae.
