There are a lot of scholarly websites you could use in the internet. There’s google scholar for searching scholarly sources. Wikipedia is a website that copies content from other sources which can sometimes not give it permission. If someone will use wikipedia, he or she should quote the original source wikipedia copied from. If the source happened to be scholarly then he or she can use it, if it is not then disregard it. There are a lot of crappy, made up information in the internet and a person has the obligation to verify whether thes sources are providing true information or not.

No, it is to easy to edit Wikepedia and put in false information. A lot of my university professors tell us that it's a good place to start to look for sources because they do have links to reliable websites, but that it should never be used as a source.

I don't like to use wikipedia because of it's bad reputation. I don't wiki is the first site someone should run to for information. If you were looking up a broad subject, I'm sure it would be fine. But looking for small details, like the month/day an event happened should be searched for by a credible website. Although, wikipedia does usually link it's information to some great websites.
