Texas isn't a horrible place to live, I've lived all over south America, and its just less vibrant green as I'm accustomed to. I don't know, in its own way the lower scrubby trees and fields upon fields of wildflowers are lovely. Living in the cities is nice as well, i just miss having something green and foresty very very close by.

Hum, i used to live near Austin during college, the area surrounding it is pretty, rolling hills, picturesque little creeks and rivers, and tons of live oaks (trees.. just not very vibrant green ones). oh! lots of deer about as well in the early morning, was kinda neat to see deer bounding around through the mists when you were walking to an early morning brekkers before class.

Heh, not really much of a beach person (aside from loving to play beach volley), but my hubbers has called every day since he has been there and doesn't stop ranting about the amazing weather and the greenery. Not going to lie, i lived near the beach most of my life, is sounds soothing to be back in a place with constant wind blowing. THE WINDOWS SHALL ALWAYS BE OPEN!

hah no hurry lovely. from what hubbers was saying, we leave Friday night, get to our new place around mondayish, and then we wont have our stuff till.. maybe.. erm. *thinks* the following Thursday. im going to be taking out compies in the car with us, but i'm not entirely sure how internet services work on a base.

D: Live trees, huh? Oak trees never look moist and 'vibrant' to me. @[email protected] We have one in our back yard, and it looks like it's made of dry clay.. Lol.
I'll make sure to find a place with lots of trees... You see, I live in the minnesota wisconsin area, the land of a thousand lakes >_< It'll be completely shocking to move someplace with.. tumbleweeds. When I think the south and texas, the image of a cow's skull and tumbleweeds comes to my mind. D: I've never been west, and the only place south I've gone was on the coastline the entire way. I passed through kentucky and.. erm.. the virginias. There was one place that was really dry and full of cliffs, and it made me go O_O WHERE IS THE GRASSSSS
But the rest was relatively nice, moist and full of grass. X3
Erm, that said.. I think I have some prejudice about texas and the southwest in general lol

lol if it helps any, i've never seen a tumble weed in the Dallas or Austin area? thats further west. lol and there is grass everywhere, it just tend to be on the more yellowed side, because the sun scorches it up a bit. During the spring though there are giant explosions of wild flowers though, and hundreds upon hundreds of bluebonnets near all the highways, so its this gorgeous blue/violet colour. (Dallas anyways, not so certain about Austin)

I have a feeling that the winter will be the most shocking, though. o_o' No snow.. Or very little of it.. We'll have to sell our shovels and snow blower, lol

hah yeah no tumbleweeds, there isnt snow here often no, and it doesnt get as bitterly cold as it does up north, though the last few years we have been getting snow in march. people drive like idiot when there is snow here because its so uncommon.
