thank you for all your support. I jsut wanted to clear one thing up.
The Don't make fun or me comment is a little bit of my Gaia stigma... I was a member of Gaia for over 4 years before coming here, and If i had even tried to make a topic like this I would have been spammed with posts form 14yr old boys insulting me because I was fat...
I am trying to loose weight for my self, not for any one else. My fieance said I look fine, but i don't feel fine. When I get winded walking up a flight of stairs, or walking to the train station, I don't feel fine. My family has had a lot of health problems, so I want to be healthy so that I can have a family of my own as well one day, and not worry about getting tired running after a kid.
I was good this morning. I woke up eirly wiht my fieance, so he could help with my ear drops (i have an ear infection) and had breakfast with him, 1/2 an apple (he had the other half) a bowl of cereal and 1 poached egg with a glass of skim milk ^_^
when my mom stoped at the dunkin donughts drive through I said I already had breakfast. and when i got to work, instead of heading to the candy dish that some one filled with leftover halloween candy I grabbed a glass of water from the water bubbler. ^_^ it's not much but it's a start.
I have a healthy choice meal for lunch, sweet and sour chicken with rice and vegies, and I know since it's friday it's take out night (eeh...) so i'll probably order a salad when jared gets his pizza... dressing on the side. I hate when they make the salad with dressing on it already... you have no controle about how much goes on, or if you don't like the dressing it ruins the salad...
As for taking a walk at lunch, that's really not possable... it's not a safe area for some one to be walking around alone. Some one tried to break into one of my co-workers cars yesterday

Well I didn't mean to insult you Phedre..^^; I'm sorry if I said something. I just really don't know what to say but don't give up no matter hard it is! ^^ I'm sure if you replace fatty snacks with fruits and veggies then you'll have energy to do so. Or just go out walking every few times a week. ^^ Though..it's probably getting colder..xP lol

That's good! Well at least you have support from your fiance too. ^^ I'm sure doing things together will strenthen your love and such. ^.^ After all I think marriage or dating strengthens when two people get involved together, I'm not talking sexually lol xD, in tasks and things that come up. ^^

I know exactly how you feel. I am also overweight and short. I have recently gained some weight because I couldn't go to college for a full semester, and thus became lazy. I am trying to lose weight though too, my mom is a nurse and these are some tips she gave me to be healthier.
1. Eat smaller portions of fatty, and sugery foods. Example, instead of eating a whole cookie every day, limit yourself to two cookies a week.
2. Eat a variety of food per meal. For example, don't just have a hamburger, have a hamburger with healthy sides such as corn or a salad. Also try to eat three times a day, with healthy snacks in-between.
3. You can eat as many veggies and fruit as you want. They are not the least bit unhealthy for you.
4. Do not go on one of the fad diets. Not all carbs, or protein is bad for you. In fact you need some types of carbs, fat, and protein to stay healthy!
For exercise you can do many things in home.
1. Buy some resistant bands (pretty cheap can usually get three in a pack) and use them to exercise with.
2. Search google for in-home exercises, focus on flexibility and strength exercises. Also focus on aerobic and cardiovascular exercises.
3. I highly recommend using the Walking exercise DVD, with Leslie Sansone. It's a great way for your heart to get pumped up (aerobic and cardiovascular combined)
4. It's better to exercise during the afternoon as your muscles have already been warmed-up. Early in the day your muscles are tight, at night too relaxed and tired. Do not stretch before exercise, do a warm-up (light walking around the house) then after your work-out do stretching for flexibility.
5. Last tip I swear hehe :P Exercise at least two times a week, and give yourself break days. Take a bubble bath to relax your muscles.
I've been following these tips and I have lost a few pounds. More importantly I feel healthier. I can now sprint around college without being out of breath like I was a few weeks ago. Hope this helps! :)

Another great thing to cut carbs is to use lemon or vinegar on salads instead of dressing. It makes a big difference! I'm glad you are looking after yor health. It is important.
Also, your body will become accostomed to healthy foods if you don't allow yourself to eat unhealthy food. Even a year from now, you may pick up something you like now and be unable to eat it. Such as for me, milk chocolate only tastes like sugar and milk to me and I only eat dark. And I can't eat fast food anymore because it tastes like salt and greese to me now.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned, but yoga would be good for you too. If you pick up one of the videos you can use it at home. It will help your flexibility, calm you, and you'll eat less because you'll be more aware of when you've had enough.

The only thing is diet and exercise.
I know you're tired when you get home and on the weekends, but you should be able to devote 30 mniutes on the weekend to exercising. It's extremely difficult to start, but maybe you can make little bonuses for youself. (Ex: For every month you work out, you and your fiance have a romantic night out).
There is no fast or easy solution, but you have to start to finish.

Well, a lot of it is mind power! (being positive can really help). As far as the dieting goes I'm no pro (slightly over weight myself but not too terribly). Currently I'm cutting out all pop and trying to stop eating things with the high frutos corn syrup (sp?) and work on eating more small meals, even if its just snacks like carrot sticks. I work at a fast food place so >_<; that can be hard at times.
I know to help yourself be more comfortable with your body you can sleep naked (sounds crazy but it does help), and try looking at yourself in the mirror naked. It sounds crazy and killed me at first but my boy kept convincing me and he was right. I don't hate how I look (as much) and Ive noticed that even with little change I have been droping a bit of weight and been feeling much better with myself. <3 best of luck to you c:

I understand. One tip: One of those frozen, supposedly 'healthy' meals, are definitely higher in carbs and in calories than if you had a cup of spaghetti (which I believe is a serving).
Even eating less will help you lose weight! Exercise will just peel more off!
Trust me. I'm overweight. It feels horrible and I want to be thinner.

I am overweight too, and it's hard. Losing weight sucks, cause you actually have to work! XP But when you lose that first ten pounds all by yourself, there's no better feeling in the world. Diet pills and surgery rob you of that feeling, so I applaud your will to work hard to reach your goal. I wish you luck on your road to bette health. (whoa, I just sounded like Oprah right there.)
