It's a very primitive version of artificial inflation.
As long as the supply is low and the demand is high, there will be users who will pay the extreme prices for said item. So, I agree with Simplicity that more users who are hording should sell more to keep the price down. But they won't because they are greedy.

I can understand them wanting to hide it though, as they want to make the most profit from their items...especially if they paid money for them.

Simplicity; All one can do is to hunt and for the item and hopefully get a reasonable seller to sell the items.
