Hope you feel better Chi. That sucks about your car. Unfortunately everyone who owns a car has a ticking time bomb. I'm waiting for the first major repair on ours. There are several 'minor' things on it that need fixing, but since they aren't necessary for it to run we just kinda let those little things slide. :|

God. The landlord on this place is concerned about my "variable salary." Drives me nuts. I have managed to successfully pay for an apartment for over three years, including an apartment that cost more than this one. If I lose this apartment, I'm moving to France. That's all there is to it.

Yah it stinks when trying to apply for any government programs where they want to know your yearly salary. I say this as it would make a big difference whether I am accepted to the "No Worker Left Behind" Program which would pay for school. If my husband and I's combined income is more than 40,000 I wouldn't be eligible. He made slightly over 30k last year and I made nearly 11k...But with us both having periods of unemployment it's pretty up in the air. :|

Yeah, at the meeting for grad school I went to last night, it was also mentioned that a lot of programs are out there for paying off loans once you're out in the work force. I'm not all that worried about my loans regardless since I (should) make about $60,000 a year. The area is desperate for people in my field. I'm lucky to live here.
So, I'm gonna go for it. They said that to even get my LCPC, it will take 3.5 years. Before the meeting I had thought it was 3.5 years for the main rehabilitation program and then another 1 to 1.5 years to get licensed.
Happy girl. :drool:

Awesome news Chi! I can understand being frustrated about the length of time. I thought briefly about entering the nursing program, but when I found out it is a 3 year waiting list I was like oh my gosh. Not to mention that the program takes 2 years full time to complete if I remember right. I kind of want to get it started now and get working in those 3 years I'm waiting you know?
It's still kinda up in the air about the whole school thing. I'm still waiting for my social security card to come in the mail...until I get that I can't do the FAFSA and I'm kinda stuck.
Oh god...and I had such a horrible time trying to get my permit reissued. (Yes, I still haven't done that...which reminds me I need to call the testing place and find out what the price is. I can't keep dragging my heels!) Because of all the social security BS I've been having they had to issue my permit in my maiden name as they had to have my social security card in my married name so they had enough 'evidence' that I was who I was. I took the letter the Social Security office gave me, but because it didn't actually have my social security number on it, just my married name, they couldn't take it! (I had a marriage license with me, along with birth certificate and my original card and ID in my maiden name...) Well when trying to issue it, the social security system wouldn't take my maiden name and continually came up with errors that the system was down, but the lady beside me was processing cards fine...They had to manually issue my card and issue me some sort of number for reference. I thank the lady for her patience, but my word!!

Hrm, you leave me pondering whether or not I have a new SS card. I know I updated my license to my new name, but for whatever reason I can't remember having a tangible SS card in my new name.
Hopefully there's no huge time limit on those. o.O But I've done FAFSA and my license, so I must have. I hate feeling like an idiot sometimes. >>;
Isn't it a huge pain?

Yah it is. Then I gotta fax off a copy to my work, which can take 5-7 working days to process in which time I can't work. I'm hoping it comes soon so I can still claim unemployment for my down days. I sort of have to bring in money to pay bills, you know?
Aaron said to me the other day - "You know if I knew what a major pain in the ass it was going to be to get your name changed, I would of told you not to bother. It's not like our marriage is a 'traditional' one."
I told him I would of felt like such an ass if I decided not to. I mean I didn't even think about it until we were at the marriage office and his mom was like 'Are you going to take the last name?'. I really didn't want to say no. Of course his Ex-Wife ended up keeping his last name...not out of her own choice. Oh lord, that is a funny story. She bounced the check for the divorce fees while they were in court, so Aaron ended up having to file and pay for it and of course he didn't bother with that. She probably signs all her paperwork under her maiden name, but it isn't her legal name. :XP

Ah... xD
I know my husband's ex kept his name on her checks for the longest time. They hadn't been married, but they were more co-inhabitants, so they had joint checking accounts and whatnot.
Why she didn't get her checks situated, I don't know. She's not in the US anymore and married to someone else now, so hopefully she's happy.

Probably just broke like most people are. Speaking of which, we finally broke down and ordered a book of joint checks in our name with our new address for paying bills. Aaron hasn't had new checks issued since he was in the apartment before the last one we just moved from, and mine are in my maiden name at the old apartment. Luckily, they've been taking them but I finally broke down and paid the $25 to have them ordered.

That's it right there. I really like it with the field of clovers. That stinks you don't have any loose ones. I wasn't too big on the snakes and I have a rainbow shawl. I kinda pick through the sets and collect the items I like the most. Well except I kept my full set of CP this year. They're all too beautiful to sell.
