xD

Rhotic is the pronunciation of r's at the end of words.
Non-rhotic is not pronouncing the r's at the end of words and only in between two vowels.

AmE is American English, the standard English for America as opposed to Recieved Pronunciation English in British.

Gotcha. Now I understandify. D:

Or on my bad days, I would "unda'sta'hnd".

It's amazing how much college has left me trying to curb my accent. My public speaking instructor thought I was an idiot because of how I sound. -_-

Oh I sounded midwestern. No twang or anything here. But I stuck out like a sore thumb there. :|

Seriously? O.o

I don't know what kind of accent you have, I didn't know you had accents up there in Maine.
I'm pretty sure I have speak the standard form of English, but I can't be too sure.

I should make a voice clip, but I doubt I will. *hides* I only get the real raging "fisherman" accent if I'm wound up.

I've never noticed you have an accent, Chi. XD

I'm told I sound British.

I don't know how you've not noticed. xD

I'm not sure I'd describe how you talk as British, but it may be because you told me why you think you developed your speech the way you did.

British is definitely the most common response I get (be it England, South Africa, or Australia), followed by European, and, before I lived in Boston, Bostonian.

OK I'm back and can talk for a little bit if you like. I was catching up with my Cousin who I haven't talked to in a long while. It feels weird calling her my cousin as there's a 23 year age gap between us!

I personally don't like people thinking I have an accent as I get tired of all the questions and just people knowingly like picking up on me because of the difference. I like blending in just a little.

Oh yah I ended up going to that wedding and having a panic attack at the reception. Imagine being in a room of like 90 people and the only people you know are the bride, groom, and your husband who's one of the groom's men. I didn't know what to do with myself so I hid in the coat closet until my husband drove me home. I just couldn't enjoy myself and was in tears. (God long story...lets just sum it up to both of my weddings being a justice of the peace and then going home...I couldn't get 20 people to show up to my wedding, let alone pull it off...My parents came to my last one and I got $50 as a present. My dad said he'd donate $100 if I wanted a party....well this party his friend's parents donated a couple thousand, plus his mother did all the catering....Just green with envy I guess...)

Yah I felt bad too, but it's something I did warn Aaron about and we went round and round in circles as he wanted me to go but I told him I was going to have a hard time being there given the circumstances and asked to opt out. He said he couldn't show up without me and it'd be rude, etc, etc. I finally just tried to suck it up and go but as soon as I was out of the auditorium, Aaron was busy greeting people at the exit and I was just wandering about trying to find someplace to sit low and in the meantime my emotions got the best of me.

Mmm... x_x

You reckon some day you and Aaron might renew your vows? I'm wondering if you could get the wedding ceremony you want then? Not that it takes away what upset you now, mind.

I dunno. Aaron said he'd like to, but then he's turned around and said it's a waste of money too...so I think it's one of those things, kinda like having a child, that I could talk him into doing but he really could care less either way.

Speaking of which he wasn't too phased about me getting pregnant...he's like if we're ever going to have a kid it'll probably have to be by accident. Otherwise we'll probably keep putting it off...

A wedding or a kid? :XD

I'd love to have some sort of official ceremony for the pictures and memories, but at the same time I guess I should be happy with what I got.

As far as a kid goes...I'm still on the fence about this one. :|

I had meant the kid. >3<

Do you guys take precautions or is it sort of a "if it happens it happens" thing?

Oh no we take precautions every single time. The one time we didn't was on our wedding night though as I was still on my period and Aaron was like 'it's impossible to get pregnant'. I made him look it up afterwards that you CAN indeed get pregnant then, just a much lower rate and since then he hasn't wanted to do that again...heh.

I tried something different this time around called VCF and it's suppose to have a 94% effectiveness rate. I've never used it before though and I'm a little wary it worked. I'm hoping we did it right as I think right now isn't the best of timing, to be honest.

It's basically spermicide in a very thin translucent sheet that you fold up and push back towards your cervix. You wait 15mins and it dissolves and is ready to use. I'm trying to stay away from anything hormonal as it usually throws my drive right out the window...and hubby hates using condoms. Go figure. :|

Man, that sounds like a pain in the butt. x_x

I hope it works well. It sounds time consuming though, like it must take the randomness out of a "O HAI THAR!!" romp, since you have to put it in 15 minutes beforehand.
