Yeah, right now I work Tuesdays and Thursdays and have class/interning Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. XD

I work at a dairy farm. I needed it to gain large animal experience for my veterinary school application, but now that it's been submitted, I just want to quit. I have to be there at 4am (which means I have to wake up at 3am) and I need to clean and work outside in rain, snow and cold. ;___;

I really want to quit, but I think it would reflect badly on me, especially if I get asked about the job during my vet school interview. I guess I have to suck it up and deal with it for at least the rest of the semester.

But seriously, I worked Labor Day weekend, I'm scheduled for Halloween and Thanksgiving. I'm supposed to work the day after x'mas (though that's definitely not going to happen--they can just fire me, lol). I hate my job.

Well, they did the schedule for the entire semester. I can be done with it during finals week (since I won't be able to make it to my last official schedule day after x'mas). Lol, that's another annoying thing--I can't believe I have to work during finals week. When am I going to get a chance to study? ;___;

But yeah, I'm definitely going to quit at the end of the year. I'll just tell them that my next semester will be really busy or something... (which is technically true, I'm going to be taking anatomy classes). I just feel like I need to finish going to the days that I've been already scheduled to not look like a quitter. xD;;

Ah well, it could always be worse right? I shouldn't complain.

I don't get paid at my internship, and I also get done in December. I can't wait.

Though, I actually think I'm going to try to sleep for an hour or so. We're supposed to be meeting a potential roommate at 5:30, and I want to be semi-presentable then.

@Chi: No, it's a separate job, but in order to be accepted to veterinary school, you need to have experience with a wide variety of species (even if you want to work with small animals exclusively).

So, before my application was due, I applied for the dairy farm position to work with production animals to make myself a more competitive applicant. Since the application was due the beginning of this month, I really hate going even more than before, since I'm not putting the hours into my application anymore... now it's just a job. I'd quit, but if I'm asked about it during my interview next year, I think it would look bad. It would seem like I just took the job to gain experience for the application and not for the learning experience (which is true, lol, but they don't have to know about that). Either way, the admissions committee looks down on students who gain animal experiences last minute, just to apply.

It really sucks that you're not paid though. As much as I hate my job, at least I get a check every two weeks.
