I never wear make-up. I think I'm too lazy. But I usually have the "fuck off" mentality anyway. If people don't like me/don't take me seriously based upon my physical appearance, then that's their loss.
But I've had some damned good mentors to silently teach that to me, too. I doubt they know it. >>

Well I like to make it look like I tried to get ready in the morning kinda look. I mean ultimately it doesn't matter in the end as Aaron loves me warts and all, but he says it does instill some confidence in me....*shrugs*

Warts and all? You're fine as you are. :P I don't believe I've seen any warts on you.
Confidence boosters are good things though.

I like makeup. I don't wear much of it--just eye liner and concealer mostly-- but I like feeling pretty.

I usually just feel caked up when I wear it. I put more time into my hair instead. Unless I'm running late, in which case I toss it up in a rib cage and leave it be. :XD

Chi: I've been using bare minerals, which is really light. It doesn't feel like you're wearing makeup.

Hey ladies, anyone home?
Just got home from school. I gotta say my MIL is pretty awesome, and so is my hubby. I just wish my MIL was able to pick her boyfriend back up.

I'm around, yep. Just watching a movie and wondering if my nephew will make it down. The roads are snowy.

Hopefully they are able to make it without too much trouble.
Just got home from school. I'm tired as hell, but I'm still very happy and looking forward to giving Aaron a big hug and telling him I love him. Just had a conversation with MIL about him her and I made sure to tell him her how proud I am of him. :)

Don't make me get the hammer out Kin.....
Hey anyone know how to do strikeout tags? My brain isn't like functioning at normal capacity. Which reminds me - I have Psych homework to do, but the thing that sucks is it's written to make you apply what you've learned and therefore won't be cut and dry answers. Meaning I need to like save that after I am feeling a bit more alert and less sleep depraved before attempting it.
Hubby said no nap...but I'm tempted...:o

Strike out tags would be [ strike] and [/ strike], just put together without the spaces. :3
Mmm, nap sounds good.

Thanks! I knew eventually I would get it right, but for sanity's sake I gave up and asked :P
Just washed off that makeup as my eyes are very dry and I think the mascara has been irritating them. That and splash some nice warm water on my face.
You know the teacher made us watch this - The Miniature Earth
But beforehand we had to write about how we felt about our life in terms of comparison with other people. I kinda knew it was coming. I mean this isn't the first time a teacher has tried to force their class on watching something eye opening to drive home how good things are here...despite what's going on.
Hell I was watching Nat Geo talk about lepers. Now THATS some pretty gruesome, and sad stuff that doesn't happen unless it's an impoverished place with the right climate...It's so sad though. :/

Know what I've always felt?
Sure, it's probably humbling to see just how bad others have it. You and I aren't rich, but at least we are fed at the end of the day, and we have shelter. However, it always feels so dismissive to hear, "It could be worse!" when someone is genuinely suffering or really down about something.
That's why I try not to say that to someone when they have something shitty happen. It doesn't really make them feel better in the moment. Their situation still sucks, regardless of how bad others have it.
Even so, bad is subjective. Many people (allegedly) in poorer countries are actually happier than a lot of those "better off". It's all about mentality and how we make due with what we have, or in some cases, don't make due I guess.

Yes exactly. Wealth does not equal happiness. Wealth can buy you many many things, but it cannot buy you true happiness. (Hence why we have people like Britney Spears *cue snare drum*)
I'm a horrible Buddhist; in fact I eat meat, and haven't meditated in a long time (in fact I should...especially the metta bhavana...for my husband's beloved ex....ha ha) however, when you strip it down I think that it just logically makes the most sense to me and the more I tend to stop worrying about money and materialistic things I find the happier I feel.
Are there things I want? Well of course! Could life be better? Why sure, but when I look at my life I've felt like I've really have turned things for the better - at least my mental state, and I've also really helped my husband to appreciate life and the things we do have. :)
Edit: Yes and I'm one for hating to tell someone to 'tough it out'. You should be consciously aware of your feelings, but at the same time use them to empower you to become a better person.

Anyways, mmm this cottage cheese is sooo win.
Eventually I need to motivate myself to do something productive today...just not yet.
I think I may sit and max out my gold from my mule. Speaking of materialistic things - I have a pair of raven anklewings on hold for me. Yay!
