Oh yah Chi - I forgot to answer your question. Child support is based on his wages alone, unfortunately. He keeps on saying I'm the only way we'll get ahead as she can't touch my wages. Unfortunately, I have a feeling he will always make more than me. :/

Ah, but if you can match his salary after what he's left with minus yearly child support, that's great. :yes: I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I think my biggest thing is finding something I'm passionate about. Aaron says that when I have the desire, I'm unstoppable, but when I lack it I just drag my feet. (ie Math Homework. :cry:)

It's kind of hard to explain. I think diesel mechanic is something that I would be good at and would stand a good chance of making money doing, while the stress of it would be substantially less than working as a nurse, plus you deal with fewer people.

However, becoming a nurse would be a bigger challenge, but probably more security at the end of it as payment for the extra time and effort.

I'm still undecided, really.

That's a hard decision, Kin. Especially since the two options are so wildly different.

I'm not going to lie and say that age isn't also a factor. I just think a middle-aged guy is a better fit for being a mechanic. :)

You have clearly not seen many nursing schools. Seriously, it's nearly all middle aged people. Of both genders.

Hmm...Maybe it's just the hospitals I go to, but they seem to be entirely populated by 20-somethings who are just starting off, and 38 year olds that have been doing it for the last 15 years...

I'd bet you more than anything that half of those thirty eight year old are actually just starting out. And yeah, the younger people who become nurses are going to be really young, because they usually knew right away what they wanted.

I'm sure it will come down to whether I want to challenge myself in the end, or just do something I know I would be comfortable with and probably enjoy as well.
