Oh, I remember when I used him for a English project I had to do. I read "The Raven" before the project, but I wasn't interested in him. But when I did the project and learned more about him, I started to love his works and I continued to read them. My favorite is "The Tell Tale Heart".

I love reading Poe! He was such a talented poet. "The Raven" was the first thing I read. My sister actually bought me this huge book of his completed works for Christmas... Oh I love reading "Tell-Tale Heart", "Berenice", "The Fall of the house of Usher", "Murders in the Rue Morgue", "The Premature Burial", and "King Pest". I like to read Poe before bed.:P

I first heard The Raven when the Simpsons had a Halloween special. I think I got the gist of the poem back then, even though I was just a little kid. I also got the gist of The Black Cat. Or at least I think I did.

Oooo I love him so much. He is a true literary genius. I love all his works. I reall need to get a book of his works again and read it. The best one is 'Tell tale heart'. That is just pure perfection. Oh, I think I am going to look for one online right now to buy. Thanks for reminding me :D

Joy for opiates and alcohol n,n
Can't wait till tourist season thins out so it's easier to get down to the inner harbor again (where he's buried). I've a Burts Home Library copy of The Gold Bug anthology that I'm rather proud of, one of the 1930's prints but I can't be sure which, the illustration and publishers information pages have fallen out & gotten lost >.<
I'm more fond of his short stories than poetry, 'The Black Cat' was the first Edgar Allen Poe story I read when I was about eight. My favorites have to be that, 'The Fall of the House of Usher,' 'Loss of Breath,' and 'The Thousand and Second Tale of Scheherezade' (one of the lighter and more ludicrously random stories he's written, save Hans Pfaall).

I love "Murders in the Rue Morgue." Yet more undeniable proof that orangutans are evil!
"Never Bet the Devil Your Head" is another favorite of mine. It has some amusing dark humor, and an original way to get a moral across.
I just love Poe. He's my favorite author, by far. ^^

I'm a huge Poe fan and would have to say that "Alone" is my favorite poem not just by him but of all time.

I Love Edgar Allen Poe I own his complete works! My favorite stories are The Cask of Amontillado , The Pit and the Pendulum, The Tell Tale Heart, The Black Cat, and Never Bet the Devil Your Head! My favorite poems are The Raven, Eldorado, and Annabel Lee. Though The Raven and Annabel Lee are super depressing I still love them!

Obviously I love Edger Allan Poe's work otherwise I wouldn't be in this thread now would I? Murders in the Rue Morgue and The Pit and the Pendulum are personal favorites, but in my mind The Cask of Amontillado has and will always have a special place in my heart.

I don't consider myself a fan of his but I do like certain works of his. I even named a cat of mine after Poe well it had a double meaning. A video game called it's village ghosts poes. I named my cat that because I had brought him home a halloween weekend. Sadly he is no longer with me and I miss him dearly. He was a gorgeous black long haired cat with little spots of white on his toes, under his nose and in his long ears..

Yesterday, I read a really great Edgar Allen Poe story called "Morella." It was a bit confusing, sure, but it was awesome and creepy and sinister as is his style.

i prefer THE RAVEN myself its a very good one. as well as the TALL TALE HEART one. it shows of guilt.
had a teacher in school once who said she hated Poe cuz he was so morbid, but she had to teach it.
*rolls eyes*
anyways, i believe Poe told best about life through his tales.
