my husband quotes the raven over and over again..... he did the whole thing for a speech competition in high school.... he never lets me live it down

Oooh I have this monstrously thick book with tons of Poe's poems and stories and what not. I was struck most by the story of Hop Frog and one which I can not remember the name of. The main character/narrator sees a horrible creature outside his window but his friend can't see it and it turns out it was a bug ON the window or something like that.

I love Edgar Allen Poe. I like many of his poems. Some of my favorite poems of his are A Dream within a Dream, Alone, Lines on Ale, Annabel Lee, and The Raven.

i will always read the Raven, that is my all time favorite poem and Annabel Lee is my 2nd favorite. As for stories its the Tell-Tale Heart my favorite then comes Masque of the Red Death. He is my all time favorite gothic poet

So today in American Lit. we're learning about Edgar Allan Poe and we read The Fall of the House of Usher and "The Raven" and out of no where eventually conversation came about the Poe Toaster. I remember last year in Freshmen Lit. we were reading a newspaper article about this guy every year on Poe's birthday comes by and, I think, places a bottle of wine on his grave or something. So, I made it my goal to one day hunt him down. Do anyone else know who I'm talking about?

I've been in love with Poe for 6 years now. I am a huge fan of Black Cat and I'm totally having a mental block on the name of my favorite poem >.<

Is it "Annable Lee" or "The Raven" by any chance SenselessChaos?

I love the Black Cat story. And The Fall of the House of Usher was awesome! I loved the movie as well. Vincent Price was a movie legend. =D

I love Poe's works. My favorite by a long way is "The Fall of the House of Usher." I have a thing for siblings in literature, though. I did a research paper on its symbolism, and for me, anyway, doing research always makes me appreciate something more.
