"It's the traps," he said after a moment, muttering a few words of insult towards the shapes. Another wolf dove after it and then there was silence.

"Oh..." She said quietly, ignoring the new silence. She quickened her pace and eventually found the exit. She walked into the house and got dressed, noticing she was still in her pajamas, then got some water.

He had followed her up to a certain point, but he stayed out side, poised and ready for anything that might attack the house. His nerves were heightened for some reason and a few of the animals showed this through their skiddish behavior.

She looked outside at Vincent and the animals around him. They were acting scared of their own shadows so she leaned out the door a little and called "Vincent, whats the matter?"

He jumped when he heard his name but smiled when he saw her. "Just a bit jumpy right now," he said. "I'm fine though, nothing is the matter." It was a lie and if someone knew him well they would know since he could never look the person straight in the face.

She looke dat him for a while "Tell me..." She said, making a unnecessary pouty lip at him and stepping outside towards him.

"Tell you what?" he asked. "I'm just jumpy?" He didn't tell me people what was up unless they specifically told him that he was lying. It was almost a habit of his now since if they didn't contradict him in some sort he almost expected them not to want to know.

She stared at him with a hard look and stood there, crossing her arms "You're not just jumpy. Tell me what's wrong! I know you're lying!" She said to him in an annoyed tone.

"Well you could have just accused me in the first place," he said shrinking back slightly. He hated it when she had an annoyed tone. "I'm sorry I just... I'm just... not used to telling people things. I'm scared you're going to get hurt some how and it'll be my fault."

She tilted her head a little "I couldn't tel lat first. How could I be hurt? You know me." She said with a slight smile. "Please tell me?" She asked after a moment of silence.

"I just told you," he said, waiting for her to explode on something. "Or at least I was afraid the traps would come out. They almost took my mother once because they grew frustrated and just came out in an attempt to take her."

She looked at him for a minuet and tilted her head "Oh..." She looked down when he finished "I'm sorry..." She added softly.

"It's fine," he said, trying to relax a bit. "My mother survived and that was the important part." He had moved slightly so he could be closer to the house but he was still attentive.
