I suppose you'd call this sort of thing Poetry, how ever I don't really aim for smoothness or technicalities.. I write them to convey a message mostly.

The Black Kitten

The sun rose but sky's were black,
the children played in leaves as the kitten moved on.
Hated and discriminated for being what it is;
walking errant, the world unnoticed.

All but the gray cat, with long brilliant whiskers.
She meowed and approached the kitten with pitch black fur
it's emerald eyes flickering in surprise.
And the sun slipped into the houses yonder.

The black sun set, raised, and set again,
The kitten returned to a corner where another had once spoken to her.
She moewed hoping there would be a friend,
hiding in the desolate streets.

With a light pat the gray cat appeared next to the kitten,
Silently and with out a word,
she whispered softly into the kittens ear.
Before any reaction or reply the gray cat left into the alleyway.

We laugh, we play play, we love;
Every one makes mistakes while the world goes on.
The darkness has come, we wait for it to end with sky so dark,
for the sun will truly rise again and sky's will be blue.

"The sun will shine, mistakes are forgiven, and you will have a happy ending."

The Awaited love

Close your eyes and think of this,
the cold darkness has been lifting,
the heart's pain disparaging,
the dreams come true and we come closer.

Carving pumpkins and decorating Christmas trees,
making grand feasts, exchanging a single red rose,
hearing a happy voice so tender and soft,
seeing a face that has never been seen.

Time is passing,
the clock is running,
the fateful day draws near.

Now close your eyes and think of me my lover,
the faithful one who waits for you for years.

In "The Black Kitten",
I loved the two lines,
"We laugh, we play, we love;
Everyone makes mistakes as the world goes on."
Also, the poem keeps me guessing what happened when the gray cat approached the kitten.
All the poem told of was surprise when the cat approached.
Nice work.
