I guess there still are some people, who used to wake up because of nightmare. I must say, that that happened with me as well, especially in my teens. Wasn't very pleasant, yep.

But this night I woke upe because of laugh. 0__o So, I wonder if anyone experienced a stuff like that.
I mean, the dream was so funny that I woke up and started laughing in the middle of the night.

So.. have anyone of you had a similar situation?
Do you have nightmares?
Does it happen often?
If you have, does it take you a lot of time fo fall asleep again?

I hope there wasn't any thread like this before.

That sort of thing happened to me once. In that nightmare, I had a case of diarrhoea so severe that I could barely leave the loo and everyone was mocking me because of it. I woke up to see that I had already wet my bed! However, it was early in the morning and I would have to wake up soon, anyway.

I've actually had a night when I woke up three times because of three different nightmares. Ironically, I fell asleep two seconds after waking up. o-o; I just told myself 'What a stupid dream.' and continued sleeping. xD But when I was younger, I used to crawl into bed with my parents when I got really scared.

I wake up all the time because of nightmares. The nightmares really bother me and it takes a while for me to fall back to sleep. Then in the morning I'll think back on the dream, if I can remember it, and think 'Why was I afraid of that dream, it doesn't make any sense!'

i dont have nitemares that often because i dont fear much and the things i do fear i never dream of for some reason

the only times i have had nightmares is about something that in daily life i dont find scary but when put in a scary concept scare the life outta me

i had one about black dogs that were out to kill me i had this dream over a few years it was like a movie the first was the intro where i met them the second which i had many years later in which i got my revenge i am expecting a fourth one sometime soon...they are scary but when i think of them days later i am like wow that was so cool

i also had one about a shark that was after my boiled egg that i was eating whilst floating down river on a floating car...doesn't soudn scary and it probably shouldn't but man was it freaky

my nitemares only seem to be about animals but in real life i love them too bits

That's happened to me so many times.
Usually when I was younger though,
and not so often any more.

Most of my nightmares that I wake up from are about spiders. ;___;
After something like that i'm usually too scared to go to sleep again
because most of the time I have several nightmares in a row.

But I do remember that I once laughed really hard
and woke up because of it.
I got tickled by a witch or something? .___.

I have nightmares...all the time. It really bothers me. Generally, when I wake up from a nightmare...I can't get back to sleep for a good, long time.

My most frequent recurring nightmare is this whole in-character thing about the last two episoes of FMA. Which I will not spoil, because that's just mean...but let me just say that they do have the potential to cause nightmares. I've had those nightmares for two years now...they haven't stopped. ^^;

And, I'm probably going to sound even weirder than usual on this one, but...just about everyone knows that I am a HUGE Gackt fan. Respectful one, mind you. ^^; But I once had a dream that he died. I woke up crying and made a beeline for Gaia to make sure it wasn't true. I was muttering, out loud, "Damn it, NO! No, no, no, no...please don't let it be true..." and refreshing every forum index I thought MIGHT be relevant every few seconds for over three hours. You have no idea how relieved I was when I saw nothing after that long. XD;;;

And...I have nightmares about palm trees. Yes. Palm trees. I dream about being crushed by them, or having a leaf fall on me and kill me, or getting stabbed through the chest with a giant splinter from a palm tree...just don't ask about that one. XD Generally when I wake up from those ones...I laugh. Just because it's SO STUPID. XD

I hate it when I wake up from a funny dream, though. It just leaves me going "DAMN IT! Why did it have to END!? D<"

I don't normally have dreams. When I do have nightmares though it's usually when I have a flu or the fever, which was when I was a child but I don't get that sick now.

When I'm sick and have a nightmare I just see weird things at some house from what I remember and it's all delusional. It just for some reason scares me. XD; Err, yeah. When I wake up from them, I just look around and then go back to sleep. XD

Another nightmare I had that wasn't from when I was sick was about me sitting on a railing at a large height and I leaned back and fell. I woke up with a startle and with my legs bent as it were in the dream. It felt pretty real because my legs were bent and I felt like I was falling on my back like I was lying in bed. XD I just waited to calm down and rolled on my side and went back to sleep.

So I don't have any really bad or good dreams. Very unimaginative am I. XD

Nightmares usually don't bother me much simply because I've 'trained' myself to wake up. If a nightmare gets too creepy, I realize that and wake myself up. I don't know how exactly to explain it, it just happens. There was only one dream where I couldn't wake myself up though. I can usually do that very easily, but it took me a long time to wake up from that one and that 'trapped' feeling scared the crap out of me. Needless to say, I didn't get any more sleep that night. Also, nightmares that involve something bad happening to someone I care for can leave me with a depressed feeling once I wake up and sometimes it's hard to get to sleep because of it.

I wish I could have a dream so funny that I'd wake up laughing. That sounds like one heck of a dream. xD

I've never woken up from something funny, but on occasion I have been known to sit up and say something like 'it's snowing on Washington', then lay back down without waking up.

But when I had nightmares, I could never wake myself up.
I'd realize it was fake, but still couldn't shake off sleep. Until I was a second away from dying, then I'd wake up.

I've only once had a nitemare. It kept me awake all night and left me with a cracking headache.
I've not had one since that, a few years ago.

Haha, one time I started laughing in my sleep, and
I guess my bf was next to me watching T.V. or something,
and he asked me if I was okay. xD

When I have really bad nightmares, I usually just
fall asleep again right away. Maybe sit up for
a while, drink water, etc.

I haven't really woken up from a bad dream recently. It just keeps going and going and going... and then it ends abruptly when I get woken up by my mother or alarm clock.

But I remember this one dream I had about a year ago. It was so vivid. It was actually an awesome dream. It was super long too because I got to sleep for such a long time, and I remember all of it. And I got to FLY in my dream. x3 ...if I summed it up, I was some sort of celebrated hero or something in the dream. It ended with the end of the world where everything flooded and I drowned. And the drowning... it was so freaky. It was like I was actually drowning. I've nearly drowned several times in swimming lessons, and the dream sensation mimicked it exactly. That was the one time I woke up from a dream. I was literally gasping for air when I woke up.

...but it was a really cool dream if you ignored the ending.

I don't have nightmares often, but when I do, they're always really bad so I'll waking up gasping or crying. Not a fun way to wake up >.<

I've never woken up laughing though. Normally, if I have a really good dream and wake up from it, I curse out loud because I thought it was real at the time and it sucks to find out it's not D:

I've never woken up laughing but, I have woken so scared that I could not move or speak. I have dreams occasionally where someone is trying to kill me or something and I cannot scream or call out no matter how hard I try and those always wake me. Luckily, that doesn't happen often.

I use to have a lot of nightmares as a kid and some as a teenager, though now they have kinda gone away. Now I just have weird dreams that leave me scratching my head in the morning.

I did have one nightmare when I was seven.
The setting was dark and there was a slide.
I climbed up the slide and then this clown with razor sharp teeth came after me. I went sown the slide and started running. It caught up to me and grabbed my arm, I sat up in bed and screamed my heart out. I looked around my room and sighed happy to be out of the dream, but then my closest opened and there was the clown, coming for me. I screamed again and woke up sitting up in bed. I was so scared I ran to my parents room.

After that, I have only had four wake up in dream and then wake up in life dreams. Not sure what else to call them. I remember every dream in detail, always. I even had a nightmare when I was twelve where my parents got in a car crash and the next day they did, but they were okay. I think that dream was a warning for me, because I would have been in the back camper without a seat belt. I stayed with an aunt after having that dream and when my parents had the crash, it totaled the truck.

I've woken up from nightmares before many times, it's so scary, my heart is racing, my body is too warm, I feel terrified...it's horrible. :(

Waking up because of laughter or good feelings, that's another thing. I love it, and it's happened before. My only problem is I wish I would stay asleep when I'm having a good dream like that. xD

lol, i haven't really had a nightmare since i was a teen (like 14, i'm 19 now).

One nightmare i'll never forget made me wake up with a cold sweat.

In my dream, i was walking down the street of this old french town, like stone streets and houses and a giant waterfall in the middle of the townsquare. It was a nice day (sunny and cool), but as i walked into the townsquare, i started noticing that everyone was dead, like a bunch of bodies were all scattered across the ground. I was totally freaking out as i walked past the fountain. I noticed that there was a body floating face down in the water, looking all water rotten and stuff. I walked closer, imagining how ugly it was cause of the water. All of a sudden, the face of the guy appeard RIGHT IN MY FACE!! It had like green water worn skin with these bright white eyes. It freaked my out so much that i woke up all of a sudden with a cold sweat.

I couldn't get back to sleep for like an hour. I couldn't get the image out of my head XD. As soon as i closed my eyes, that dace just appeared in my thoughts. That has to be the scariest dream i've ever had. I'm kinda freakin out talking about it XDD.

I have a dream catcher now XD. It seems to work pretty well. Haven't had a real nightmare since.

oh wlel it depends on what you consider a nightmare xD by now I'm pretty used to having dreams with demons and devils and all that weird stuff in them, so it takes something else to wake me up..
falling down from high is a good example. god, I hate that.
and a few nights ago I woke up because an angry ant tried to attack me xD

Laughing? lol That is sort of odd; I've never heard of that before. One time I woke myself up by screaming. I didn't even remember what my dream was about or why I was screaming. And it was more a shrill scream, one high, long note. o.O It was odd.

I used to have nightmares a lot, receintly at least. I'd always wake up in the middle of the night with a rush of adrenaline. It was scary, because most of my dreams involved ghosts. I've slept better now and havent had any bad dreams for months.

I can't say that's ever happened to me. When I'm asleep, I'm asleep. There's no waking me up. Very bad if something is on fire.

I don't have dreams.. But yet I do wake up in the middle of the night kinda frightened sometimes.. I don't know what it is but I wake up out of a dead sleep and I just guess I don't remember what I was dreaming. Its weird but it hasn't happen lately, the last time it happen was about 3 years ago.

I wish I had nightmares and dreams though.. Its kinda weird not having them, and someone told me that I do have them, I just don't remember them when I wake up. Is that a true fact?
