I usually don't shop for clothes online. I like shopping for Christmas gifts online. It makes it a lot easier to find things that you want to buy. I don't necessarily use ebay all the time, but other sites as well.

I'd have to say I prefer going to shops and malls.
On Ebay, epescially if your just bidding, there is no guarentee you'll get what you paid for.
In stores you can try on clothes, read the book summary (and a little of the book itself, X'3 ) before you purchase, the whole try before you buy thing.

When on Ebay if you're just about to win the bid, someone can come in at the last minute and take what you were bidding on. When you're in a store I haven't seen people grab items from other peoples hands, or take them from others while in the checkout line.
Plus when in stores there is a better chance of getting quality items because you'll be the first to use them.

On eBay a some people neglect to show the bad sides of their item, or stretch the truth about the item's condition.

Plus going to the mall is actually a bit of activity which is better than sitting infront of the screen all day long.

I would rather go to the mall because if you see a new book you can start reading the inside of it to see if you like it or not! And the same thing for clothes. You could find a shirt that looks good online but what about if it would look good on me?

I don't like shopping online, only because I never get out of the house as is, so when I do get the chance to get out, I take it. Although, since I don't drive going with my husband SUCKS. He whines about it the entire time and disappears with my wallet and stuff most of the time. It's rather annoying.

Though, most of our Christmas shopping is being done online, it's a lot easier than going to the stores.

For clothes, I usually have to buy them in a mall. So far, every article of clothing I've ordered online looked bad on me :[[. For books, online is ok, but I usually like to go to the library, or this awesome little used bookstore. I like ordering posters, and stickers, and buttons, and pillows online though.

I don't like to buy things on Ebay because people charge way to much for shipping and I have seen plenty of people who don't get what they think they are getting.
