I look into the mirror whenever the mood strikes me. Usually, its to criticize myself. xD I'm just not the pretty type. I don't really care, and don't put any real effort into changing that, but everyone wants something a little more in life.

o_o; I did look in the mirror with my hair down one day and nearly faint. I always thought my hair was shoulder length. Then BAM, its almost at my waist. xD If I leave it down, people admire!

I actually don't look at myself in the mirror anymore.
I don't like my appearance and by looking at myself it just makes it worse.
I've been doing this for a couple weeks now and I've been getting more uppity.
I still brush my teeth and brush my hair.
But I use the mini mirrors to do that. n____n
I own mirrors,yes.
In the bathrooms and such.
But none are in my room.

I go in the bathroom several times a day just to stare in the mirror. xD

Sometimes it's a bit surprising how long my hair is. :o I'm used to having it short and it's gotten shockingly long recently.

I usually look at myself in the mirror on the weekend, but on school days, I usually just throw on my uniform, maybe run a comb through my hair, and I'm done. On the weekend though, I can spend up to thirty minutes just staring at myself, and deciding what parts of me I don't like that day, and whether I should put lotion on, and messing with hair and clothes.

ok, ok ok, first of all, question number two, "do you own a mirror?"
WHAT THE HELL?!
i would just kill myself without a mirror!
And obviously, by that, you can tell
that i look into the mirror quite often.
Not because i like how i look (oh my no, far from it)
But because i can't stand how i look
to a point that if i don't have make-up on
i want to barf at my reflection!
so i'm constantly looking in the mirror to fix and touch-up my make-up.

But even so, I have had a few experiences like that,
Like this one time, when it was late at night (or early in the morning xD)
i looked in the mirror and seriously didn't recognize myself!
it wasn't that the lighting was bad, or i was tired,
i just, ofr some reason looked like a different person.
Also, then there was a time when i saw a picture of myself from a few months prior,
and it took me about 15 minutes to tell that that was me!
It was mainly because i had been in really bad shape then,
(i was waaay too skinny)
because of my intestical disorders and ulcers (yuck, lawl)
so then when i saw it,
i thought it was my skinny, hollister-ite cousin! lawl!

Things to discuss:
1. Have you ever been shocked by your appearence changing?
Actually, yes. When I lose weight, I usually stare in shock and disbelief at the mirror.

2. Do you own a mirror?
Only the ones built into furniture or the hours istelf. I very much dislike seeing myself.

3. How often do you look in the mirror?
Not that often really. Just when I'm messing around with my hair or putting makeup on.

I usually make jokes about cracking the mirror when I see one. Or, since my friends tease me about being undead (long story), I'll make them check to make sure I still have a reflection. XD

I looked in a mirror one day and noticed that the purple in my hair was fading. That made me sad. But no, I've never really noticed anything very drastic. ...but that could be because pysrien is a rather vain person and does look in a mirror at least once a day to put up her hair, wash her face, etc. Thus, she sees the changes at they happen, but doesn't notice them. ^^;

I sometimes look in the mirror and I'm surprised by how sad I'm starting to look xD; I'm serious, too. They say you can see it in a person's eyes, but I can see it in my entire face. I always had a bit of a baby face -- but I think it used to be harder, my eyes sharper, more emotional. I look really sad and soft and damaged and deep sometimes xD; Just -- my face is really relaxed, because I try not to think or stress about things, I just exist a bit. And there are dark circles under my eyes and the white of my eyes look a bit cloudy from sleep deprivation and tears and stuff. It's spooky. And depressing! xD;;

That having been said, I look in the mirror too often to notice my weight changing xD;

Things to discuss:
1. Have you ever been shocked by your appearance changing?
I've never typically noticed much change in a mirror.. However outdated pictures seem to give me a vague idea of exactly how much of a metamorphisis I go through monthly.
I know that it sounds a touch over-dramatic, but it is true.
For the simple factors that I:
-Constantly colour my hair and change the style per my liking.
-My sense of fashion is very random in reality, therefore shopping and adding to my options is a must.
-There is a reason why my friends call me 'the pierced princess', piercings come and go quicker than my relationships- sometimes for natural reasons, and sometimes from the occasional jerk in the mosh pit.

2. Do you own a mirror?
Yes, if I think about it, the only room of my entire apartment that has no mirror would be the kitchen.
I'm very attracted to reflective, shiney objects in general, in addition to a matter I'm sure I'll get around to answering in the next couple questions.

3. How often do you look in the mirror?
Quite often actually. People have called me on it.
It's not that I'm entirely narcissistic, because I'm not.. I just need some reassurance every now and again that I look fine, and if I don't then I will stop whatever I am doing and right it until it is fine.
Post-narcissism goes hand in hand with the whole "artist/writer" territory, so I hardly see it as anything negative that I happen to be a perfectionist outside of my work.

4. Anything else that might be like this?
Anything else? I think I've pretty much touched all of the bases I needed to in this topic.
There's really nothing more to say, but I am interested in reading the future responses to this topic.
People's behavioral patterns and thoughts intrigue me.

i dont like looking in the mirror because i always feel so ugly...some days my hair looks nice and i have no spots and i feel really pretty and start doing these cute little flicks of hair in the mirror.........

i hate mirrors
they show who i really am when i try to istract myself from the real me and focus on my personality and building on that

i always manage to find faults in myself if i look in the mirror so i try not to

dont worry i dont hate myself as such but i just dont like mirrors...
especially if me and someone else is in it because then i start to compare myself

especially photos i hate photos...
i always look taller than everyone else and fatter
so yeah i avoid them

tee hee i make out to be such a self hating person but dont worry i love myself i just wanna be someone else for a while... :D

I hate looking in the mirror, but i do it because i always feel that im ugly or fat a lot of people say that im not fat and im not ugly but the truh is i feel that I am and for some reason no matter how hard people try i stick by it so yea soz guys.
But i thik that i say im fat and ugly because a lot of people have in the past called me fat and ugly once well on several occasions my step-mum said i was so fat and ugly shed be surprised if i got a girlfreind so yea thats the main reason i suppose.

Okay, first off.. I dread changing because I'm always loosing or gaining weight.
It's never ever one or the other, loose alot, gain some back. It always goes really slowly.
I've always considered myself as an attractive young woman, and I know I'm not the only one out there who agrees but I've always been so self-conscious because I grew up harboring a huge inferiority complex.

Yes, there are mirrors all over the place here, and I do look at myself frequently in the mirror, but most of the time it's just to see if I look okay and to pick myself apart.

Self confidence issues? Oh yeah.

I don't think I've ever been shocked just by watching a mirror.. maybe if I found out that I have a red eye or something, then I'm shocked a little.. x) but no major changes in my looks really.
I like to look at myself in the mirror. I don't know why. It's just always been that way.
Sometimes I don't want to look because it's frustrating, and I think I look ugly at times.. >.>
but you know when you have that new hair colour you just can't get your eyes of it xD

Dae and the mirror are not good friends. When I looked in the mirror this morning, I noticed I looked fairly dead... and I'm sure I looked worse last night... Mostly because I've had been on the computer, doing a project, for several hours...

At times when I look into a mirror, I lose my identity.
I stare at my reflection and forget who I am, forget about existence, about the world and matter around me.
I forget about life and black out.
Then I blink, and it all comes back to me with a massive headache.
And there I am, staring into a mirror at myself
My humanity is lost, then returned to me in a matter of seconds.
I dislike the way I look. Why do people like me?

Lol. Yes. 2nd question, I was very tired. The other thing about that question is that some people only have the mirror that is built in the house. Not like mirrors that someone puts up in their room and such.

It sucks about the sickness things..

1. I'm always shocked by my appearance, sometimes I think I look pretty, ugly, depends on my mood and what I'm happy about. Right now I think I look averag-ish.
2. A mirror? Rather several =)
3. At least once or twice everyday, gotta keep your hair neat and tidy!
4. Not really..
