We used to have things like that happen when there was bomb threats at my old high school. Mostly, it was some kids that were bored and decided it would be funny to threaten to blow the school up. We also had a lock down after some idiots let a bunch of feeder mice go in the school. They wouldn’t let anyone move out of the class rooms until they were all caught.

Of course the principal is going to sound calm,
they would be fired if they weren't.
so you shouldn't really rely on that kind of thing to think all is well.
And if they locked the doors it was either a drill for when a "dangerous person" comes to or near the school, or one actually did. (you know like a convict... or something)
But schools always overreact to that kind of thing, so if one was really there, then they were probablly like a mile away and the school freaked.
It's happened i think to a school my mom worked at.

Code Red is a warning for intruder. The school I went to used to do drills like that. Hopefully it's just a drill... ._.
My sisters college had a drill once, it was like, VERY early in the morning and everyone had to come outside where it was freezing and had to stay out for a long time..D: In there pajamas!

At our school it's a Code Blue for an intruder in the building. They just announce that over the PA system. Then we just lock all the doors and close the window shades and sit away from the view of the little windows in the doors, and we don't open the door until the principal comes around, even if like a policeman comes to the door. We were supposed to practice for it a few months ago, but for some reason we never drilled it.
We don't really have any other codes or whatever that I know of, but when the fire alarm goes off there's this aweful siren-type sound and this annoying female voice about an alarm being set off in the building. For some reason the voice freaks me the **** out. >.<;

Code red means that they're on the very highest alert. In the military code red means "OH MY GOD SOMEONE IS TRYING TO KILL US!!!!" Torpedos being shot at a sub is usually code red. In a school it most likely means "OH MY GOD SOMEONE VERY DANGEROUS IS HERE AND PROBABLY TRYING TO KILL US!!!" Which probably means you're in America.
So basically, if you hear code red, do exactly what you're told. No lip. It's a very dangerous situation. The teachers will be calm because that way you're going to be calm. Even if they're shaking and scared to death they'll try to maintain composure.
But it's probably a drill. Apparently America does that...

Maybe it's just a drill though, they're supposed to do them every so often. :]

Yay but wouldn't the person who is intruding know that there is something fishy...that they know he's intruding.

We have drills all the time for this. Every now and then they will be a real one for same thing close by. Once the cops came with dogs and everything.

Ok, I'm not EXACTLY sure what happened, but I'll do my best to explain why I was stuck in my creative writing class for annother....hour I think it was...
Ok, there are three schools in our building, my school (DIAL), a middle school, and annother high school. Apparently, someone from the midde scool came into our school with something they weren't supposed to have.

But lock-downs are Code Red. The class all sat in the corner all curled up for at lest an hour (maybe 50min). That was just a practice. The police came to make sure we were doing it right so they went around to every single classroom. D;

My school does that too.
Once we had the SWAT come in and do a full practice lock-down. They are really boring.
I've found over my years, that the best place to be when that happens is the auditorium.
We can just climb up into the catwalk and no one will ever find us up there.
Unless, they happen to be a person familiar with our auditorium x.x

Haha, me too! I remember being in elementary school and we had a practice lock down and everyone in my class was freaking out, some kids were crying. I was so worried, even after the teacher kept explaining that it was just a drill XP

So many bad experiences with those things.
I remember being locked in a trailer for a good half hour while an unknown man was walking around the grounds.
I heard he was carrying some sort of pocket weapon. But thats just what I heard.
We happened to be in the choir room when it happened with one of my favorite teachers at the time so I wasn't scared. Counting though that I was only seven and really had no idea what was going on except someone was walking around outside. But there were kids crying rivers and she had to give one of them a stuffed animal to shut up.
We were huddled in the corner near the closet and I could here whoever it was outside, he even knocked or kicked the side of the trailer a few times. Scaring the crap out of some more kids.
Finally he left or someone called someone because after a bit longer he was gone and the warning was lifted.
And then another time we were in my kindergarten class and another person walked onto the school's grounds. Again I didn't know what was going on except we were being pushed under the desk. Nobody was crying I think because it was our nap time. {xD<3} I saw her walking by the window peering into the classrooms.
I don't know what that was about. o -o;
AND then x3;
Right after 9/11 everyone was like "OMGBBQ PLANES R TRY 2 CRASH SKEWL."
They shut the school down when they got reports of suspicious men walking towards the schools.
Even though my mum came rushing down when she heard about the planes crashing. xP
I remember some of the girls hiding in the hall's bathroom. Smart ones.
XD;

At my school, Code Red means that there's an intruder, and there's possibly been bloodshed.
Code Yellow is a toxic spill (at school?) or something of the sort. My sophomore year they called a Code Yellow 'cause there was a gas leak across the street, and a few kids passed out or something.
Code Blue is when someone like... dies or something. It's when someone's having a seizure or just needs medical help or something.
Then we have Code Twister for tornadoes, and Code Orange or something for fires.

Wow.. that's alot of codes.. but I think that all the other codes sides for the code red make sense because you need to know about all the other things, but the code red will just alert the intruder that they are hidding and that they need to find the students/teacher that they are looking for...

Well I hope you find out soon! Still internet time, good. Code Red? Perhaps there was a intruder, thats what I'd think.
It happened once, but not in a school, a civic center thingy. "Lock down." Anyway this was fencing and I heard familiar clicks of handguns having their safeties flipped off, since a lot of the older people have concealed handgun licenses and I grabbed my stuff, walked out the door, grabbed my knife, and well we all just kinda left xD.
I've also had other things, like emergency help. Once I was outside of the same place and well my Dad's a doctor, and I'm a doctors son and I've done many, many courses of first aid, dealing with all sorts of things. Over the basics. We heard an emergency call going off and somebody was having a seizure. "Medical help," or something was being said over the com. Well we helped the bloke out, cuz luckily I knew how to help my Dad get him to not blow his body apart. It was rather interesting.

Hmm.... Nationalist much? I'm offended.
We have/had beep codes at our school. Kinda like Alarms except different.
3 fast beeps means a fight out of the classroom. (I love these)
2 beeps with 1 second intervals between them means intruder.
Fire alarm is fire (Duh)
An intermittent alarm is Tornado
and 1-10 gunshots means a school shooting (lol)

Lol, i keep pressing "Submit Vote" trying to post a reply! Anyways, that's pretty scary... Our school hasn't have any drills except for fire drills, which we've never had a fire... Graffiti, hobos peeing, and wallet stealing have happened, all caught on hidden cameras, but nothing really serious.

We don't work with codes here, but if it is an intruder, maybe a dangerous one, the whole school would probably freak out. You don't want that to happen.

We had those on occasion when I was in high school. I used to love them, unless it was a class I hated. One time, there was one during lunch, and I missed half of my next class and at the same time, got to talk to my friends. XD.
I know, I'm weird. They're not supposed to be 'fun'. But somehow, I never panicked during them, or never got scared. To me, a code red was always just a 'not again!' type thing. o-o;
I really should have been more afraid than I was, as a code red usually means the school has someone in there that shouldn't be there, or that there's a bomb in the school. But every time one of those came up, it was just some prank caller trying to get out of class, so they never really intimidated me. o-o;

Yeah. They're just probably drills.
My other school didn't have intruder alerts and all, but there was a fire drill back when I was in kindergarten.
My classmates and I thought it was the real thing.
We grabbed our things and cried so hard, and somehow said our goodbyes to each other.
Haha.
That was really funny.

That happen in my high school long ago. The reason was that someone email the teacher telling them they put a bomb in the building and had a lock down. Now if someone email that there was a "bomb" in the school then why everyone have to stay in the building! >.< I was like 'hello someone said the word 'bomb' shouldnt we get out of the school just in case there was one and dont blow up and we all be dead'. I swear people get more stupid each day.
