Morning all - looks like I missed the first day of the event - so I have lots of chatting to do so I cnatry and catch up
I saw Mamma Mia on Friday night - it was cute. I'm not a big Abba fan so the music and singing was kind of wasted on me . . .
Saturday i randomly decided I had to clean my kitchen - and then I went over my parents house and spent the weekend there. We watched the ball game and just hung out in the house Saturday.
Yesterday we went out for breakfast ad then my Mom and I hit some stores for her to try on gowns for my wedding - we found one that looked awesome on her and David's Bridal, and it was 50% off - so she has a dress for my wedding now.
Chris made it to Rochester yesterday - I think he'll be heading back towards home in 2 or 3 days. .can't wait until he's back!!!

I talked to Chris yesterday for a bit and he's alive and well in Rochester. He got there Sunday night. :squee:
I had to bring in his GPS software to work and upload the data to the server. One of the state parks he had planned on staying in on his ride home is closed and he needed to find a new route.
The girl he is riding back with is due to arrive today and they will be heading back on Thursday or Friday . . . can't wait to see him!!

Haha- thanks Miss Erika
I'm glad you found your way back for a bit Lex. I've been well - same old same old generally. Saving for the wedding and planning that a bit- but I have a lot of time before I really have to work out the smaller details.
Applied for a job the other day- it pays 50k - would be wonderful to be able to move into that position - make things a lot easier with saving for the wedding if I keep living like I make next to nothing like I am right now. I'm really hopeful about this one - and I'm worried I'm going to be really disappointed. :/

Ohh what do you have figured out so far for the wedding? Theme? colors? dress? flowers? I dont like weddings...they are so long sometimes but I LOVE watching platinum weddings and bridezillas and all that stuff cause they skip over the long drawn out parts. HAHA! I guess in essence i dont NOT like weddings...i just dont like the long parts of weddings. HAHA! Are you guys paying for it alone?
Good Luck on the Job! I have been looking at Govt jobs..but most require you to already have gov't job experience which I do not have. I need to just go back to school and get out of this field. When i really want something i try to think negatively...I know it seems backwards when alot of people say you should be hopeful...but I dont like big disappointments. But I wont be as devastated about a negative outcome that way.
But I am wishing you good luck on this! When do you expect to hear back about the job?

I'm not sure about the job - it's within the college I'm working for right now - so I guess I'm hoping I won't be kept hanging for a long time - but I figure at least a few weeks, maybe a month before I know anything for sure - because universities seem to like to tke forever with everything.
So far we have the date (10.10.09) and the place (Richmond Hall) and I bought my dress but it hasn't come in yet.
When it comes into the shop I have to finish paying for it and try it on - I plan on getting some pictures of me in it so I can post them up here.
We're going to do the ceremony and reception in the same place and we don't want to have a big long ceremony - just something short and sweet.
We're going to do photos with the wedding party beforehand in Fairmount Park so we may actually get to mingle with our guests during the cocktail hour and get some pictures with family!
I'm really excited - at this point we still need to find a DJ, someone to marry us, and invitations. We're going to do flowers ourselves, potted mums on the tables and my Mom is going to figure out something for bouquets with me - nothing too fancy.

That place is nice. I love the high vaulted ceilings! And getting pics done before hand is a good idea. SO often the wedding party doesnt get to mingle or enjoy much cause they are off rushing to get pics done.
I know lots of people go crazy with flowers. I dont think i would spend thousands on flowers. I know i do Love Calla Lilies but i wouldnt have like a bazillion roses on every table. HAHA!
And YAY for the dress! I am looking forward to seeing pics.
Universities DO take forever for things unless its getting their tuition money from you. :|

Sia- can I ask how much the place was to rent? and the other places you were looking at? I haven't started looking for anything yet, but I want a ball park area of how much a wedding will cost. XD since I refuse to spend the $25k that everyone has been saying weddings cost. >.<

Oh Sia, it sounds like everything is really coming together!!! I can't wait to see pics of your dress. What you described for the ceremony sounds very similar to what I want to do as well--short and simple, then get down to the partying!
