Hello Trin. You're always welcome here. ^^
Jeannesha, yeah, I know what you mean. Last year when I got sick, I was so lonely. My mom was always the one that took care of me when I was sick.
Dragon, thanks and it's okay. I'm better now. Last night I was just emotionally overwrought and horribly jet lagged, so even though I wanted to sleep, I couldn't.

I'm thinking you were meaning what I did this weekend??? Well, I mostly saw the sights--Westminster Abbey (went to Evensong), Tower of London, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, etc. I also went to a show called The 39 Steps. It's basically a comedy/mystery and it was really good and very complicated to explain. Loved it.
Psyrien: sorry you were homesick. Actually, I'm amazed that I haven't felt homesick yet. But that may be in part due to the fact that several of my friends from UE are here at Harlaxton. I have a feeling things would be a bit different if I'd decided to study abroad at an actual English college (like London University or something), but since Harlaxton College is only for American university students, I haven't even experience any real culture shock yet. Kind of wish I had done a different program, would have been nice in some ways, but then again, it would have been more expensive. Anyway, I hope you feel better soon!

well me back in school, as is psyrien, and hi everbody, sorry trinn I missed you.
Moving in was hetic, I'll move in better later, when crap is in the condo and not in my room. for the record, ttrying to keep kitchenware stuff inside a dorm room that is for a condo full kitchen is hard. (boxes of pots and pans, cups, plates, mugs, wok, measuring stuff all in dorm room plus self, psyrien and our stuff.....)
Sounds awesome okami, how was the abbey? what did you think of the service (i went myself).
Personally love the tower of london, but yeah, me silly, what yo think of the crows and such? (I also liek the layout). Didd yyou go into buckingham palace, or jsut watch the changing of the guards?
I think i get more dorm friends and family sick (psyrien and mark, and okami), over home sick :P

Moving is always hectic. And so is packing a lot of the time. But I'm sure things will be more savory once you've got stuff put where it belongs.
The abbey was gorgeous, although I found evensong rather dull, in part because I couldn't see much of the choir and the readings were rather misplaced to me (they were both from Eviticus, which is one of the books filled with law after law after law that we don't observe any more (like the ritual killing of a goat)). It also made me think about how distant I feel right now in relation to my faith. I haven't been to Mass since the 4th Sunday of Lent, and throughout the entirety of the evensong service, I felt absolutely no connection. I really want to go to Mass. Otherwise, the service was very nice and the choir was quite good (I feel sorry for those poor boys in the choir robes with all the ruffles around their neck).
The Tower of London wasn't bad, but I didn't get to go inside because the tour takes a total of 3 hours and costs a heck of a lot of £ which equates to way too much mula. We did go into the souvenir shop, though. You can only go inside Buckingham during the summer, and we didn't even get to see any of the guard because we just sort of went around the back (it was also closer to about 1:30 PM). We didn't want to have to get there early enough to get close enough to see the changing of the guard and then wait around for an hour or so in the January cold. Besides, it rained that morning so it would have been a bit unpleasant.
As for homesick, I guess I'm sort of like you, Dragon. I usually end up missing my friends and family more than the physical location of my home (although I miss the Rockies (as in the mountains; not the team) a lot). After all, I really do believe in the age-old adage: "Home is where the heart is."

ah, yes, sorry for very late response, good news is, we closed on the condo, I have a place people can stay and hang out again. home is where the heart is a good motto (must remember in her not able to remember quote thing/brain).
anyway, thank you for update!!
hm, sorry in a good ranting mood but fun one
so yesterday was chaos, and chaos how i use to remember, and I was fine!!! (not emotionally collapse or all, good news considering). so mom called me needing some random legal things, and we played phone tag cause condo wasn't closing how we wanted it to and yeah. rush rush rush thing, then Mark and I play phone tag about meeting up so i can get suggestions on short stories, and finally marisa and I play phone tag over rush event and needing pots and pan.... sooo much hassle.
Anyway, today we closed on the condo, I have a spiffy condo now with furniture to be moved in soon (going to ikea today). and yeah, my room will be clean!!!!!
also if anyone remembers me freaking out over a grade in break, found out it isn't suppose to be that and my teacher is going to fix it :) i am not failing a class.!!
ion other news, much homework, and fun, and less time for Mark...

Yay for the condo! That means that if I'm ever in Chicago, I'll really have a place to stay!! Yay for free accomodation!! (If you don't mind, that is).
I can emphasize with the busy part. That seems to be my life here.
OH! I found out that Nattie is going to be studying in London next year!!! Which will be totally awesome! She'll be right across the chunnel (after I get to Normandy, that is. Which is where the Normans came from in 1066 with William the Conqueror to conquer England (although he was known as William the Bastard (as in illegitimate son) until he actually became King of England. Sorry, British Studies is invading my life, which it should be considering that it's a 6 hour class which equates to British Studies is my life)). Sorry about that ranting tangent.

Speaking of traveling and accomodations and such forth, I might be going to either Spain or Belgium. And it's amazing how hard it is to get to Brussels. I mean, it's where the EU is held! Shouldn't that make it easier to get to??

Wait...you're comparing your birthday to your birthday??? I'm confused.
And I'll bet you're happy! From your descriptions, your dorms sounded just awful!
Oh! And how much in advance do you know when you'll be doing what projects, 'cause we need to think about the end of April and if I'm going to stay in Chicago or just go on to KY.

That would be really great. I just don't want to impose/cause poor grades or anything. In any case, it mostly depends on my mom; if she changes the flight, then she'll lose some money.
Oh! Here's an exciting thing! My choir teacher is loaning me a "fiddle"...for FREE!!! Of course, if I damage it I have to pay for the repairs, but, still! It's a violin! And it's sooooo much nicer than mine. I'll take a pic and e-mail it to you, if you want. It has really nice wooden pegs that like to slip a lot, and you can tell that the violin is old because the wood has aged. And there's a WOODEN bow!!! Oh! oh! the thing that holds the fine tuners (I forgot what it's called) has a design on it!!! It's sooo pretty!!!
Dinner today was Chinese. Well, British chinese. One of the pork dishes actually tasted like pepperoni. So I dubbed it the pepperoni pork. We're almost always surprised in some fashion at meals. Makes life a bit more entertaining here. Apart from all the drunks wandering the halls every night. There's a reason why they don't put a bistro in the basement of dorms in the U.S.

Hmm, that is awesome to be getting a fiddle to loan!! I had to drag my cello up instead of borrowing one, but fiddles are soo awesome!
Mark forogt my birthday was tomorrow, and thought it was today, so we are celebrating today, kind of, instead of tomorrow. Oh well, give him points for trying.

Whale cow? One of the new plushies. Can it only be worn on the head?
I'd like some more critters. I think a hound dog would look really cool sitting next to me!

yes the condo is in chicago, right noext to my school, but off campus, so I don't have to pay for meal plan, but am still very close to my school (acutally closer to calsses once I move, than the dorms now, by 1/2 block).

That must be really great! If it's that close to classes, then it's also probably a really good investment. When you're done with school, you can rent the condo out to other students.
