Has anyone read Inkheart by Cornelia Funke? Or any other books in that series? I just finished the first one (Inkheart) and I am eager to start the next one. Well it is a really fascinating book. They are also making it into a movie soon n.n I am excited for that.

I have to say I've never read any of those books/series but a few of my friends have and they tell me they are really good books.

They are very good. If you get the chance you should definitely get one.

I remember thinking when I read it in middle school that it was rather poor.

I didn't like. The writing wasn't very good and the ideas were terribly trite.

They're making it into a movie? Oh no. D:

Yeah my friend recently read the second one. And yes at the book store when I was buying the book there was a sticker on it that said "A soon to be motion picture" or something like that. Im kinda excited to see how it's like.

I usually dont like movies that are made from books, they are usually horrible. For example : Eragon! The book=master piece. The movie=crap that seemed to have been written by a five year old.

Yeah I have to agree with you on that. :(
Same thing with A series of unfortunate events, and Beowulf :(. I also think it changes your image of the book. For example, I always imagined Hermione in Harry Potter to have shorter hair, and a different shade of brown. Well after seeing the movie I completely changed my image of her :(

Yeah, and they usually forget a scene or too, or completely ruin a part in the book =/

@Takabean, I think they're translating the third one.
I read both Inkheart and Inkspell, at first I thought they were boring, but second time through I liked them.

I saw the preview for "Inkheart" when I went to see "The Golden Compass". It looked really interesting, although I haven't read the books yet, so I wouldn't be able to compare. I definitely want to now, though. Are there just the three books in the series?

I've read the first one InkHeart and I loved it. I was rather annoyed that the plot dragged on forever. It seemed like they would never get past the points they were currently at. Then that would be over in a page or two.

I own both but have never gotten to finish InkSpell. One day I'll finally get to that.

I loved Inkheart! I read it a couple of years ago. I even bought it at a yard sale for ten cents. You gotta love yard sales! Especially the ones up north! I have not gotten around to reading the second book yet, but I will. It is on my list of books to read eventually. I also own The Theif Lord and Dragon Rider by her. I have seen the Theif Lord movie and thought it was pretty good, but have not gotten around to reading the book yet.

I remember I read it in 4th grade and I thoroughly enjoyed. I thought the plot was very clever and creative
and I was very excited when the second book came out. Too bad I never got around to reading it. Xp

I've been interested in the books since I saw them in the public library in town but I'm too impatient... I can't stand waiting for other books in a series to come out so I've been waiting for them to finish the series before I start reading it. I've seen previews for the movie but I think the movie is probably not nearly as good as the book. I'm even more interested in the books knowing that they're being translated from German to English as I've been taking German as my third language... ^^;

Yes I have and inkspell too and am waiting for the third one to come out. it would be SOOOO great to read characters out of books. The ones I would readout are Noelle Bor from trinity blood (so she doen't die) Yue from cardcaptors (he's an angel nuff said) Marcia Overstrand from Magyk (she is soooo cool) And last but soooo not least Snape from harry potter (from when they are doing a flash back from when he was a teen) I guess these are my fave characters for one reason or another and really would love to meet them.
