Bartuc: Are there really people - except for staffmembers - that try to tell you how to do your job..? Hm, I can understand people asking a moderator if they could do something - like erasing an accidental double post - but telling you how to do your job? As far as I am aware, Mene's staff doesn't need help. You guys are running the site quite well.

LOL, yes the mods do indeed have people telling them how to do they jobs, also telling them when they don't need to be doing certain things...which generally means, enforcing rules that these people find inconvenient >_>

Argh. I can understand people pointing out things that need to be fixed. I can understand people saying something should be done if staff makes a mess of things -cough-Gaia-cough- or just does nothing at all, etc.
But Mene has logical rules. Good staff. The rules are enforced, problems are usually fixed soon, unless it's a big glitch or bug that just takes a while to fix.
I don't understand why people would try to tell them what to do. It's incredibly rude.

I think only staff should tell staff what to do. An admin can say to a moderator 'you should try doing it this way instead' without being too rude. But a member? No. Not unless the moderator made a huge mistake.

And Mene's moderators do rarely, if ever, make huge mistakes.

Stuff like that doesn't bother me. It is when people are like "You will receive in infraction for this now." "This thread needs to be locked." "That post needs to be deleted." "You need to go handle this." uhh.. We have a report button? Utilize it?

Bartuc: I know. Have been a moderator of a couple of Dutch forums a few years ago myself. Not even an avatar forum and both a lot smaller than this one, but the rudeness of some people...
I sometimes point things out to a Moderator - but not in that way. xD I just have a couple of moderators I know pretty well, and if they're online and I am talking with them anyway, it's not such a problem. xD Most often the report button works just as well though.

And I'd never point things out in such a rude, commanding way, like you described. xD
