Those are a few threads that are flying around the General Discussion and I know people can get discussion out that but isn't it a little bit too.. I don't know how to put it. Simple? I don't know. Tell me what you guys feel about threads like this. Too simple? Just right? Depends?

They're spam, there's no discussion involved it's a post here and get easy gold.

I think all of the above except for the Mp3 discussion are just useless, there is so less discussion involved, most people just leave their preference and move on.

I want more threads that spark discussion. v.v

Honestly? I frown at them like I do those, "Hey I licked a toilet seat and barfed..has this ever happened to you before??" threads. They seem to be so wildly popular since anyone could be like, "Yeah, I fell once!" or "I love blue." >_>;

Makes me sad that I attempt to put some effort into my discussion threads, and they'll end up dying within a day. xD

Tori, if you ever make a discussion and you promise to discuss with me, send me a link and I shall come discuss! I miss the old discussion threads.

Yeah, I used to love the discussion threads, now they're just... *sigh* threads. I live in chatty threads now.

This is considered spam cause there is no real conversation and it's in the wrong forum.

There aren't any answers to choose from so you can't say which you like better... This is actually a discussion thread about this or that threads.

They're alright as long as you can actually get a long discussion from it. But really, how much can you talk about a pen or pencil. Or feet and shoes. Simple is really the best way to describe these threads. And simple things generally mean easy things. And people like things to be easy.

Well actually I bet you could get a lot from it in the art threads, but not in the general discussion. And therein lays my problem with them. There could be discussion if they only put some effort in. But now there's a pen or pencil thread I'd be wary of putting one in the art thread. Where you can talk about textures, effects and h6 vs technical pens...

There all just discushions for easy gold. I think i started a few pointless threads myself.. My bad.
But somtimes its kinda hard to think of somthing that could go real indepth. Some people proubly dont think that fair into things. Just how they are. not there fault.

They are pretty pointless, but then again, I'd be the person sitting there elaborating on why I like pens or pencils. Or when I prefer which. Or the benefits of using both. XD

I try to find conversation even in those meaningless topics.

They really should be considered borderline spam, though. It's not a real 'discussion'.

Abis--What if they went more indepth of what type of leads and pencile makers.. would that be better.. *thinks for a moment*

I think they're kind of ridiculous and don't even generally bother to read them, unless they've got some kind of absolutely amazing premise. I don't see why if they want to just talk and earn gold they can't go make a hang out. Or just enter a hangout... of course by the same token I keep balking about jumping into one because I don't know anyone. ((Catch 22))So I guess it may be something like that.

I hate threads like that. I like to actually discuss things, not use one line sentences. It seems a waste of time to even make those kinds of threads or reply to them.

I really really really really hate them. I can't stand them. I find them to be pointless and rather annoying.

I think there should be rules set up, because to me they're spam. Most of them only require a one word post, which is therefore spam. :S

From my experience on other forums, they can be a great way to encourage like... interaction. Not neccessarily in-depth discussion and intense conversation, but if you stick around (soo important) and just chat with people about their answers..? I think they can be useful to promote a friendly sort of community.

The problem is that a lot of people just answer and leave, and so there isn't actually any connection or interaction at all. Of course, it's hard to change that, because it's a little hard to make a rule like, "You must stay in your thread and talk to people!!"

P: I guess what I'm saying is... used correctly, they can be okay, but they tend to not be used correctly. xD

The problem with that theory Sat, is that there's really no way to enforce a rule like 'you must stay and talk'. I mean you can't really -make- someone post again, although if there was, people might not start so many of those things.

Are you waiting for people to come with complex discussion? People wont answer it if it's to complex or maybe just boring x.x
