Disney princess are lovely.
I don't think they send bad messages, jeez look at 'Bratz' for goodness sake...
I was in LOVE with Ariel when I was 10 onwards, grew out of it a little bit, but they're back, as the kind of allianced princesses, so it's hard not to love them when its easy to buy the pretty merchandise.
I got a crap load of Ariel stuff for my (lol 19th) birthday, like 2 weeks ago, from my manager (god she spent alot on me!) :D. BECAUSE..! here goes.

We had a tissue box at my work, with 6 disney princesses on it.
I was bored one afternoon, so I wrote some of the girls' names above the princesses, giving one each to my bestest friends at work.
It went pretty much based on appearance.
My manager Michelle is Aurora (sleeping beauty)
Liana is Cinderella
Nicole is Snow white
I was going to be Belle but I realised Kelly looked more like her, plus I love Ariel.
And...lol...Tam (he's a boy) got Jasmine, because he's darkish skinned with black hair, like her and it was just plain funny (though we scribbled a beard/goatee and glasses on her : D

I started a craze! Nicole gave us all silly captions befitting our pose on the box. I think mine was "Why, Thankyou!" cos Ariel's hand was resting on her chest and looking all gratiful-like.
I gave a cute little keyring/phone charm of Belle to kelly for Kris kringle, and Michelle an aurora pillowcase and perfume, and Liana a Cinderella perfume and Nicole a Snow White phone charm.
It's fun! everytime I see the princess I think of the person, I'm like "cool, that colouring book has Me, Tam and Liana..or something, ^____^

Anyway, yeah old skool Disney Classic movies are still awesome, never wont be.
Omg though, I nearly cried when I realised Anastasia wasn't disney, it's 'fox', somehow I felt extremely cheated. xD (fav movie after The Little Mermaid, then Beauty & the Beast)

wow long post. Didn't even realise <<

When I was little, I loved Jasmine and Ariel.

But I'm... kind of... old for that, now. No offense. Grown out of it and all.

Leona - Actually, Lion King did sort of have a princess. Nala. Since she got with Simba and everything.

I love Ariel as well! She is my favorite princess simply because she lives in the sea, can breathe and sing perfectly underwater, and she always has perfect hair! Who wouldn't want that?!

The only gripe I have with the princesses is all the sequel movies they are coming out with! There all so stupid, I mean COME ON "Cinderella 2: Dreams come true", how absolutely lame! Her dreams came true already when she married the prince! GAH! And Mulan 2, I had to sit through the whole first movie to see Mulan and Shane get together and then they broke up in the first like two minutes of the second movie! Stupid writers. And "The little mermaid 2: Back to the Sea"? Oh my goodness...

Dude. When I was little, I had a Belle gown. You know; one of those crappy ones you get at Disney World?
It was tight.

I've been dying to watch Pocahontas for some reason as of late... but I can't find the tape anywhere!
Someone upload it on YouTube.

I adore Ariel too! I was listening to the soundtrack the other day. x3 I wanted to be a mermaid for an entire year when I was six. I still know ALL the lyrics virtually, and I went mad for the TV show they did - Spot the whale, and I had such a crush on Urchin. >333< <333

I was just sad the manta ray was evil. ; o;

Poor Keda doesn't get much attention, but she's super cool.

The music from Beauty and the Beast always accompanies my worst nightmares, but it's such a lovely movie. Belle and her books. <3

Pocahontas... I had a doll of, and Jasmine (and Aladdin. xD) Snow White and Aurora bugged the devil out of me, but my mother loved Cinderella, and I kind of took after that.

Oh, but poor Eilonwy never gets much attention either. But she is a bit annoying. xD

When I was little, I used to watch so much Disney videos.
My favorite is Mulan. I love how her story goes. Plus, there more fighting in her story. >.< She atleast fight instead of the other Disney Princesses. Haha!

I've always been partial to the Disney princessess.

Sleeping Beauty was alway my favorite. Still is. I do like the stronger more outspoken ones though like Mulan and Pocahontas.

Mulan, because she's strong and independant and she can do martial arts.

Pocahontas because she's connected with nature and she's brave and follows her heart despite what everyoen else was saying and doing.

But Aurora/Sleeping Beauty will always have a special place in my heart because she's just so darn beautiful, and who wouldn't want to fall in love with a dream prince and find out that he's real and in love with you too!

I was never really a fan of the Disney Princesses when I was a kid, but I imagine it was in part because I always hated "romantic notions". The one I always hated most of all was Snow White. I thought she had no spine to her, and I always found her voice weak and annoying.

The only Disney heroine I ever remember liking was Jane (from Tarzan). I don't know whether or not she would qualify as a princess, but the girl had serious spunk! It takes a brave lady to wander around the forest wrestling with wild animals!

Jasmine is by far the best, dude you kno what i realized though she is the only one who wears PANTS, and i cant stand how she isnt in a majority of the Princess items for sale and she is a real princess hello the daughter of the Sultan!!

oh man i cant sand Cinderella she is everywhere she isnt that great.

One of the tings that really bother me is when they put someone with the princess who isnt a princess like Mulan, i love her but she isnt a princess she is the SAVIOR of china big difference.

And i dont like how they dont add all the princesses like Kida from Atlantis, and they hardly show Pochohantas she is a princess a native American princess thats what the chiefs daughter is.

But sometimes i wonder why they feel it necessary to leave out the non princess like Alice, Wendy, Esmeralda, Maid Marian and Jane, Meg. They too are so cool..why just focus on the princesses, there are other girls who are just as cool.

I always loved Disney! :3 Well not now.
;____; They took out all the good stuff and replaced it with Hannah Montana shit.
I always liked Belle, Cinderella, Sleeping beauty, and Ariel.
There is a 7th princess though..its Kairi from KH. xD loololol. But on the news about 2 years ago an actual new princess came out. I don't know who she is but she looked so cool! seriously.

xDD Lets ignore all the dark analysis about princeses, and talk about disney princeses, huh?

I love Disney's princesses. They represent little girl's naive dreams and imaginations of a happy ending and magical love stories.

I like Snow white, Pocahontas, jasmine, Aurora, Mulan, Belle, Ariel, CInderella...well, maybe almost all of them? Because thy're all princesses, but they have different characters, and I think it's actually good because the little girls who like them have many types to chose from as role model or something like that. xDD

I love the Disney princesses. I love the fact that they all find love. I'm a big romance fan. I also have a Disney princess coloring book and I'm 16. *bows head in shame*

Anyway my favorite is Ariel. Possibly because I wanted to be a mermaid. I also like Mulan and Jasmine.

I never really cared for Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora.

I love Ariel and Mulan the VERY best! <3 I would -love- to be a mermaid ='D (I really hated the second one xD; As a matter of fact, I really like the original story :3 ) Mulan is just awesome :3 Jasmine is pretty cool too xD

There's nothing that I really don't like about them >.>; I mean, they're perfect xD; Which is probably what all the fuss is about, but it's just a fantasy story x3 I think it's fine :3 (Snow White is cool, but not the one in the Disney movie xD; She looks funny :3 How do you qualify a "Disney princess," anyway? Are they ALL princess'? >.>; )

I don't really hate any of them, but I always get Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty confused because I don't think they're very unique xD;

I just want to smack all those people that bring up issues with the disney princesses.
People just always need something to complain about! ><

Anyways, when I was younger, I was a big Disney/Princess fan, though not so much anymore.
But still, I love the innocence of it all, the romantic yet cartoony storylines.
It just all brings me back to my childhood, which I miss oh so much!

Even though i'm not so much into Disney anymore, my bestfriend is completely in love with it still.
She goes to Disney Land more then twice a year and she has ALL the movies.
Once in a while, we'll pick one or two out, watch them, and have a couple of drinks! xD~
The grown-up version of watching out beloved Disney movies!

My favorite Disney Princess, is proabably Anastasia.
I love how Disney turned a part of history into their own version of a childrens disney movie.
That movie is just so sad too D;
We love that one also because we both have Russian boyfriends <<;

I uh... actually don't know anything about the Disney Princesses... aside from what's in Kingdom Hearts.

But i'm all for Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas being one. Just because technically she isn't a princess or that she's a jumble of reanimated corpse pieces doesn't mean that she doesn't deserve a shot. That's discrimination.

...

:o Not really. I don't know. *larfs*

I never really distinguished the princesses from the rest of the Disney characters when I was little to be honest.

I think I would probably have wanted to be Mrs Potts instead... I was a strange little girl!

I'm still mad at Disney for getting rid of Mr Toad's Wild Ride and now for loosing the licensing with MGM that caused them to change MGM Studios to Disney's Hollywood Studio.

So whatever unjustifiable bullplot they get about Disney's Princesses "supposedly" ruining the self confidence of America's children they deserve.

My alltime favorite is deff ariel! but I totally agree mulan and pocahontas are very brave women good people for girls to look up to. Mulan breaks the chain to find her true self. Pocahontas risks her life for love and for peace. I dunno about you but i think that these are acceptional women for my future daughters to look up to.

Disney isn't evil our children won't be corrupted people just need to calm down they're finding faults in everything now a days. even in sesame street...cookie monster doesnt just eat cookies anymore cause cookies are a sometimes snack...what's up with that?

I love how they defy society. Seriously. And how they'll do anything to follow their own hearts, anything for love.

Belle refused to settle down as a housewife, even though the town's most desirable man was desperate to marry her. Ariel was willing to leave her family behind, even sell her soul for love! Esmeralda made a mockery of THE LAW, to stand up to social injustices and prejudice. Pocahontas broke the racial taboo and fell in love with "the enemy." (I'm ignoring sequels, because I haven't liked one yet.)

I'd like to see a lesbian Disney princess in the future. These girls have the guts, so hopefully in time things will change and that sort of plot will be accepted.

My favorite Disney Princess would have to be...
Mulan also :]
I dont know why i really like mulan, i just do.
I guess it's because she's not an actual "Princess" or becomes ones.
I dont know really, i just know when i was little, the moment Mulan came out in theatre i had to see it!

I've always loved the Disney princesses. I just adore fairy tales and fantasy, and think the stories are charming. I didn't develope a stigma against stepmothers, a beauty complex, or a fetish for ball gowns from them, so they do no harm in my opinion.

It's the same as with Barbies, though, really. If you've got pittiful self-esteem to begin with, you're going to try and project ideal beauty on anything with a human form that looks prettier and more perfect than what you deem yourself to be.
