I thought it was funny how Link turned into a bunny the first time he was in the dark world. I wouldn't have expected him to turn into a pink rabbit the first time you go into an alternate world of darkness. xD Then again, his hair is pink. I never got that either!
|
I think it was a crazy color glitch personally, but the bunny thing kind of makes sense since it reflects what was in his heart. I guess Link is tender and meek on the inside huh? Do you remember the boy playing the flute in the light world and when he plays you a few notes he disappears, but when you find him in the dark world his form has been contorted as well and he asks you to play for him the tune he used to play one last time then he turns into a wooden tree figuring of what he was. It was kind of sad actually. I love catching bugs and having them help you fight monsters! They are so totally cool!! There are so many things you can do. As far as I can remember the quiet middle aged man does nothing special really but I think he's actually a locksmith who opens a chest you find that you cannot open which he asks you not to tell anyone and you can agree or tell him that you are going to tell everyone about him. It's rather funny actually.

I haven't actually gotten that far. I've only gotten to the Lost Woods dungeon with the bones and holes you fall into. But I have seen that boy playing his flute.
Yeah, I thought it was cool that you could catch bees and they'd attack the monsters. But I usually use all of my bottle space for fairies. XD
I think I might go play A Link to the Past now...all this talking about it is making me remember how great it is!

I wasn't at first because of the train, but now I'm really looking forward to it! :) I like the pan flute that you use the DS mic to use, and the fact that Zelda helps you out the whole time.

I need to play Ocarina of Time now, I still really don't know the story line involved with that game. Faeries are definitely more valuable then a bee attacking doing miniscule damage to a powerful boss.
@Tre Le Coco ~ I haven't even heard of that one unless it's the one that looks like Wind Waker.

Yeah, but potions are even more useful than faeries once you have around 10 hearts or more. :)

Ocarina of Time was definitely the best. It had the general plot: fight through dungeons, get more powerful items, be a hero; save the princess. And the graphics were better then the original Nintendo games as well as the gameboy games(of course). Unfortunately, unless I'm missing something, it was the last of it's plot line.
In Majora's Mask, Zelda wasn't even there. You still play as Link, but now your goal is entirely different and you don't save a princess. It was ok, I enjoyed it allot anyways, it was well made. But, it wasn't quite the same and I was a little bit disappointed. I suppose a single plot can only go so far though.
After Majora's Mask, I don't think Zelda is even seen that often. I kind of stopped paying attention to "Zelda" progress after Windwaker was made, or whatever it was called. That and Paper Mario. I figured Nintendo was going downhill, finally running out of ideas.

That would probably be the difference between "figuring" and "playing" since Wind Waker and Twilight Princess were very solid games.

i want to try Spirit Tracks, mostly because Link and Zelda will be working together, which is a new thing in the game series. [It happened a few times, but it didn't last the entire game~]
I just need a DS. xD
My brother got this gamers magazine on Friday, and he showed me the top 100 games of all time by their standards, the first Zelda game ranked number one. Ocarina of Time was 20, Majora's mask was 30-something, Windwaker 50-something, and Twilight Princess was in the 80's. And they advertised Spirit Tracks. It was fun to read. I saw some screen shots from the game. Pretty cool~

For whatever reason, I was never able to get into Phantom Hourglass, and I've heard that Spirit Tracks is more of the same so I'm not excited about it.

I liked Phantom Hourglass a lot, but it got boring after a while when I'd finished all of the dungeons and there was nothing to do but collect boat parts...
I think Spirit Tracks looks better though.

Yes, that is very true. Those kind of remind me of the medicines that sell in the original Legend of Zelda. You could buy a blue potion which would fill your life up completely once whereas the red one you could do twice, in which the first time you fill up your life the potion goes from red to blue then you have one more use left. I can't remember exactly how much life a faerie gives you though.
@Master Shadow Kilo ~ I cannot comment on what you say until I actually play those games. I have heard others say Ocarina of Time was better and more fun that Majora's Mask. I kind of thought Nintendo was running out of ideas until I saw Wii Brothers come out just recently. It is truly a return to the old which was what was so badly needed. It was an ace in the hole in my opinion. I love being able to play as Toad and his cousin! I wished you could play as Princess Toadstool as well.
@Captain Pains~ I actually have that issue and all of my gaming friends who saw that thought Super Mario Brothers One should have gotten the first slot, but I'm rather conflicted actually. Of course that is just the opinion of the Gameinformer staff and not the whole collective opinion of all of us together.
@Kinmotsu ~ I have never played Phantom Hour Glass so I cannot agree nor disagree.

@the poll in the thread: The Water Temple kicked my ass!!!!!
@The actual topic: The entire Zelda series has been my entire life! I have played many video games in my day, but this was above all the MOST influential and the most memorable! Zelda will always be my number one series <3 I think if I had to choose only one game, I'd say Ocarina of Time :S

Anyone else like the music? : D

The newest game looks pretty cool, but I don't have a DS >__< There are only two games I would want to play on the DS, so I'm not going to buy it, but it still sucks. I heard they're making a version for the Wii (not that I have that either), but it doesn't come out until like next winter >__<

It does look pretty cool! Especially Link and Zelda working together the whole game through.
I still don't think a train fits very well in a Zelda game though... xD

The Water Temple was the hardest. It gave me absolutely no problems. But I run a help guide thingy over on gaia. 9 times out of 10 times it's a question of help on the Water Temple. Sometimes it's the golden skulltula thingies... But thats it.

I just used a short, summed up guide for Ocarina of Time in the back of the guide for Wind Waker to get through the Water Temple. And I think I might have had to look online too. xD But I'm not sure...maybe I'm getting confused with Majora's Mask. o_O'

Has anyone else played Spirit Tracks yet? My boyfriend got it for me for Christmas, and I really like it, even though Zelda annoys me a lot.

She probably wouldn't be too annoying for most people, actually. It's mostly just the fact that she pops up at times and states the incredibly obvious. ^^; It's like, "Ooh, there's a switch! I'm going to go press it!" *runs towards switch* *almost to switch* *Zelda pops up* "Hey! Look! A switch! You should go press it Link!"
It's like, no, really? Things like that just annoy me a little.
Driving the train is sort of fun though, and the pan flutes are fun to play. So far, I find it to be a great game. (:

Oh no! It's Navi all over again!
I'm looking forward to the pan flute, cause there hasn't been an actual musical instrument in a Zelda game for a while. :)
