Welcome to CHRISTMAS SHORTS!

*Yaaay* New story thread. This, again, will be another short-story thread. This probably will end this month, since it will only stay during Christmas time.

Hurrah! :D

I just wanted to make tributes/stories regarding Christmas and the Holiday season. I'd love to hear comments! Thanks :)

This thread will be composed of actually anything Christmas related. I hope I won't be scolded if I post some of my poems here regarding Christmas instead of my thread in the poems section. I feel it'd be more organized if I compiled everything on the same theme in one thread. I'd put here my short stories, small idea writings, and mostly prose stuff about Christmas. Hope you enjoy :)

Title:
Type: Songfic
I Celebrate the Day Relient K

And with this Christmas wish is missed
The point I could convey

"Huuh," Courtney stared into deep space and sighed. It's the 22nd of December--3 days to Christmas Day. She's sad and all gloomy today, primarily because she's been thinking about Christmas. Yes, you'd know Courtney is a typical compromising Christian. She also comes from a family who used to be well-off, until the unfortunate incident her father encountered.

Courtney's Dad, Mr. Johanson, used to own a large firm. He and his family had a wonderful life, and were all well-blessed with material possessions. Until their business started to run bankrupt because there have been drastic changes to the stock market, which affected the business a lot. It became to come into bankruptcy, so Courtney's dad decided he'd close it rather than lose more money.

They're not broke at this point; in fact, Courtney still studies at a large college, but her father had told them they had to "tighten things up", and that means no Christmas shopping, extravagant New Year's and Christmas Eve celebrations, and anything else they could probably do to make their budgets fit.

Since last year, before the incident happened, Courtney has been hoping to get an expensive laptop for this Christmas. But since they have to cut expenses, this highly means she gets no laptop, or maybe hardly anything close to it. She knows she shouldn't expect much, or for this matter, anything. Her mom is actually having a hard time trying to budget the meals they're having on Christmas Eve, so they're lucky enough they will be having a nicer-than-usual dinner on the 24th. So much for anything else.

I guess there's really no hope for a laptop this year, Courtney thought as she sighed once more. She decided to go to church, just to ease up on the Christmas blue she's feeling.

She knows her other churchmates would probably be there, practicing for the program they're having for Christmas day, so she'll probably have company in there. With that, she bade her mom goodbye.

[To be continued.]
