OMG.
Sea monkeys! I never knew what they really were until now.
Wow, I have a sudden crave to go buy me some. o.o
They look so entertaining! :'D
I always thought sea monkeys looked like little microscopic monkeys, jumping about in the water, but instead they look..well..pretty darn ugly. D:
They look like centipeads (sp?) or something. x__X
Oh well..I wonder how much they cost???
My beloved fishie just died so I'm in need of pet love. T^T
(Even though I'm getting another fishie this weekend..>.>)

The white dots are probably eggs.

And, there's billions of things in the water, a million of which could probably look something like what you could convince a kid to be a sea monkey.

Happen to know their scientific name? *wants to research it*

Edit - Here's what they look like close up xD They're majorly ugly D: http://www.flickr.com/photos/larsdna/94383214/

My sister had a few sea monkeys.
They were sort of entertaining to watch, cause hers got REALLY FUCKING BIG...

But she killed them when she put them in tap water. XD

I had sea monkeys when I was little!
They multiplied so quickly.
My little sister and I used to point at them in front of people and pretend to be able to tell them apart.
Then we'd act really offended when someone couldn't tell them apart.
And we named them and would occasionally say that a certain one had died and start to cry.
We were really obnoxious.
Sea monkeys are a good time all around.

I never had seas monkey.
I always had pets that were alive when I brought them home.
XD;;
Mostly as a pretty young age I had goldfish and angelfish of my own.
We had a Gigantic Aquarium full of fish so I always let mine live in there too.
After they died and I got bored with the type we got sharks.
Most of the time they would die after a couple of weeks but a few times some would live for a good few months.
Although they did eat two of the smaller baby fish in the tank.

I got some of those once. n.n
I was so excited, and was going to order alll this stuff for them. And I sat them in an area that I thought would be good for them. Then I looked in there one day, and it looked like they were all dead. And if they weren't, my grandmother dumped them out the next day, so I'm pretty sure they were then.

LOL, a locket-http://www.discoverthis.com/sea-monkey-locket.html
Anyway, I think I'll probably ask for some again this Christmas, and just keep them faaar away from my grandmother.

If only I had one :(

I don't think I've ever heard of those before. o.O Little creatures that spend who knows how long in 'suspended animation,' according to the youtube thing, then when they hit the water they're suddenly alive again? That's just creepy. I'm going to have to find some of these critters and see if it's actually true. How much did you spend to get yours?

Kekeke xD Sea monkeys... My mom went up to Seattle this past summer to visit relatives and came back with sea monkeys -- the problem was that we were in the middle of a move and managed to misplace the food x.x What was more, was that the closest pet store that -might- have had sea monkey food (those things are really rare now xD; Apparently, they used to be really popular, but they're a bit obscure) was still a ways away xD; I was like "ANIMALLL CRUELTYYY ;___;" But those damned things survived, like, four or five days without food while we scoured the town for a pet store that carried their food xD;;

Eventually, we just found the original package -- they're still alive xD Crazy how they grow, right? xD Does Walmart sell sea monkey food? xD; That would have been an easy solution >.>; Some of ours got really huge tails, and a couple ended up getting pregnant xD;;

Anyway -- I don't like instant pets as much as slow-growing pets xD Like puppies and kittens and even fishies :3 <3

xDD I remember those things from when I was little! They'd cost like... 20 bucks for a kit for them or something... a major ripoff DX I wanted one when I was little though, but now I think it'd be a waste of money. I realized when I started raising fish as a hobby that the so called "sea monkeys" were in fact just brine shrimp DD: And you can buy a vial of brine shrimp eggs at the pet store for a couple of bucks, lol. So now I have a tube of them but I don't hatch/grow them to actually grow the sea monkeys, but I grow them to feed my fish instead ^_^;; Live food is good nutrients and such for the fish, and I don't really look at them as pets so all is good! xD;

I don't get how those things work. o.o I guess they suspend the eggs or something? Or do the things just not hatch until they get into water? I'm really confused about that. ^^;

Either way, I never heard about it until I had watched that one Rugrats episode when I was younger, and they had a part where they owned "sea monkies". I wonder what the actual name for them is.

I always thought it was funny that people would want to keep them as pets. I raise them as food for my fish so I don't veiw them as being "pets".

I don't know. When I was little I used to want Sea Monkies, but now...not so much. I want a pet that will love me but I don't have to do much to take care of.

Any volunteers?
Lol...I kid.
