ok, I'm looking for advice on my nail polish dilemma. My friend is a manicurist (which I think is pretty cool, lol) Anyways, she wants to paint my nails, but I don't know which color to pick. I either want to paint my nails red or blue. I like the classic color of red, but blue goes with a lot more of the things I wear. So, I was wondering if any menewshans can help me decide. Should I pick blue or red nail polish for my nails? And I guess for further discussion, if you paint your nails, what's your favorite color to pick?

I own one nail polish, it's black....

I've always wanted red nails, but I can never find a good red colour. All the shades I find are either too dark or just plain ugly.
Besides, I only have one red piece of clothing, so it would be kind of pointless...

I wear blue all the time, but I don't think I would ever have blue nails... That would be too unusual for me...

But certainly, if you feel comfortable with the idea of blue nails, go right ahead! I'd rather do that than have red nails if only I felt comfortable about it...! Much more unique and bound to be noticed ^^

yeah, i understand what you mean. it's really hard to find a red color that doesn't look incredibly awkward. but my friend has the most gorgeous deep red nail polish, and a glittery metallic blue nail polish and a shiny light blue nail polish. so, the fact that she has such a nice assortment in both colors is making it really hard for me to choose.

I dont' really paint my nails - i got them done for my prom and graduation last year - but that was it. and it was simple white-tipped.

but if i had to choose between those two colours i'd choose blue - but that's because i have red hair and blue eyes and the blue would accent my colours more. lol

but it depends on the blue and red you're choosing - if it's blood red/crimson or if it's dark or lighter whatnot - and blue - light/dark/royal/baby.

I use all different kinds: black white, red, blue, green, purple.
it depends on what goes with my clothes.

I´d take the blue if it goes better with the clothes you´re wearing ^^.. good luck :)

I say you go with the blue.

My favorite color is the classic pink cause it goes with just about everything. XD

I would go with blue since you mentioned that it would go better with what you wear most often. Then if you get your nails done again, you can go for a wilder color like red.

As for me I like colors as long as they are dark so they do not stand out to much, but they are still cool. I like dark purple and dark blue the most.

I usually go with silver, dark purple, black, pink, or some different colored french manicure. But if you're just wanting red or blue, I'd choose blue.

lol, i don't think that will be possible. also being familiar with the colors, they seem like they would look really weird together and would look much better separate. so, it seems like it has to be one or the other, but thanks for the advice :D

The only color that I seriously like is a really deep red, almost black. I've found good reds at Wal*Mart. But, if I'm feeling really daring I go orange or neon green, it depends on my mood really.

However, the color you chose is really up to you. Though, if you do wear more blue than red, go blue, but red does go well with blue, so, I can't really give any opinion as to what you should get.

Blue!

Red is cliche. I personally love weird nailpolish colors myself, so I'd definitely take the blue.

And get glitter, too! Glittery nailpolish = bomb.

well, it seems like the clear winner is the blue nail polish. when i get it done, i'll report back to say how it looks. and if you want to still keep this thread open, you can still discuss whatever nail polish you use.

ok, i just got my nails done and they look fantastic. i chose the shiny light blue nail polish. it's pretty light, but it gives just enough color to look absolutely lovely. and the best part about it is, it pretty much goes with everything i own. so, thank you all so much for your help. looks like you guys helped me make a good choice.
