So whenever you are on a break or vacation, do you miss the people you see often? Like school friends?

For me, I never miss any of my friends. Even if they move away. During the time when they are about to, I whine a bit and is all, "Nuu! Stay!! ;0;" Though in reality I don't really mind. Sure, maybe the most is less then half the day but once the person is not there, then they automatically disappears from the daily life. I will think of them and wonder what they are doing, but miss? Not so much.

So what about you guys? Are you missing anyone during the break?

For some reason, I don't really think about them much. The most important things to me during the break are, internet, family, and sleep.

Nope. I have no school friends.

Everybody there is just out to utilize everybody else and all that just so they can pass. Not to mention they're slobs when they work. Those that do work and are capable, well---they band together and there are obvious fractures in our block because people band together into cliques and if you're not in any of them, you're an outsider and an idiot.

I became an outsider by choice due to being bullied way back during my first year in college. It's not exactly bully but basically I got forced into a spot that I didn't like. Even by our Student Council representative of that year... Fun.

I got frightened by my block and refused to open up to them.

Then I turned to a group ---banding together as friends only to end up growing apart and really not working out. Not to mention I realized people there were just using the word friend to get by and use/make the most out of me so to further advance themselves.

So no. Student body wise? Nope. I'm HAPPY without them. I wish I could have college on my own without having to take classes with other people frankly.

Though I'll admit I do miss SOME quirky teachers/professors ---oddly enough I make better friends (in a way) with them than I ever would with my block.

But I think I can live without them just as much as the students anyway.

...I wish the vacation didn't have to end.

Or at least I find a way to earn my credits without seeing their ugly faces. So harsh but true.

It may sound selfish but there is 'someone' I do miss.

I miss being myself. School makes me conform and hide to be able to protect myself from these half wits who written and oral reports by cut and pasting from wikipedia and don't make an effort in making their powerpoint multimedia for presentations.
I end up feeling dumb and stupid in their presence having to do the same for sake of conformity and crap.

I swear I am in the wrong college.

I do miss my school friends. But it's just soo different from the summer break. Some of my friends even cried when the end of the school year came. But the winter break is just like a short break at school for us ><

I miss my two friends, though I need to scold one of them the next time we speak.
Which, if she answers my new years call, will be soon.

And, I miss my boyfriend, since he gets to vacation in Florida. :?
And some other friends, because they're terribly entertaining, and this week has been less than hilarious.

My high school started in 7th grade, and I remember crying my heart out during summer break because we were gonna be separated for two months.

But now that I think about it, I don't really miss anyone during the break.
I think my breaking out in 7th grade was all for show.

Ithir, It's kind of futile to do so since I'm graduating this term and only gathered guts NOW to admit to myself that I am not happy here---since I realized I've been dragging a rather dissatisfied me for way too many semesters.

I do hope/plan to take up a second course elsewhere but I have no idea how.

...Now that I think of it, I kind of miss the not within school people I would often interact. Like those ladies at the photocopier's shop or the nearby bakery. Or those people at the local net cafe I frequent who let me go off without paying for a while given I gave my word on being able to pay them back eventually. Ah the niceties... They understand college students are always on a budget. XD

I miss them somewhat. I miss the cheesecake and Brazo der Mercedes... Not to mention those nummy cake squares they have! I must have those when I get back to school!

Really. The only time I do care about peolpe and miss them is if I know they wouldn't be in such a good situation and I can't lay my eyes on them for a while.

Give me reassurance you'll be fine, I won't bother. Or you're just not worth my worry, all the more I will not think of you at all.

Cruel enough, I might even forget your name the next time we meet. Then again I forget my name on a regular basis...

I suppose missing food counts too...
In that case, I miss the steak from the super pricey steak house. D:

Yeah though I think I can very well live without them given I end up learning the recipe or find some juicy equivalent.

I do bake after all.

...Which reminds me, I stopped since my blockmates and so called friends would only warm up to me when they saw me bringing muffins, wanting free food.

I got tired currying up to them only to end up with a torn up dream and expectation. They will never change.

I've started to miss the only one of my friends I really care about.
I haven't been to school in at least a month, so.. yeah. XD

Everybody else I'd actually PREFER not to see.

Usually while I'm on vacation I'm thinking about what I have planned, or what to plan, what to do, or how much I should sleep in, what should I eat, and a whole bunch of other stuff that doesn't really matter too much.
Usually, even if my friends move away, they come back, or we stay in touch. So I don't miss them too much, I'm too wrapped up in my own life.

Personally, i don't really miss people which makes me feel bad because i should. Most of the times if i makes friends in school, i consider them 'school friends' and don't make an effort to spend time with them outside of school.
I guess i'm just antisocial, well more like it takes a lot of effort for me to even make and keep friends. I dunno.

@white: The situation you're describing sounds pretty bad. But i say, if you're gonna graduate soon anyways, why don't you just live the rest of the school days as you really want. At least you'll be happy right?

As for me it's almost the same stuff. I don't really miss my friends from school. To be honest, I even forgot about them, you know.And this fact doesn't bother me at all.

Though that's kind of hard when everybody is still trying to control your actions and make you bend to their will anyway.

I just try to focus on the smaller things in life like that bakeshop and the nice people who run the photocopying places. Or those small run down places to eat that have people always smiling and mingling.

I won't miss the people -per se the people who frequent like students and such but perhaps those who run it, I might miss- much but I'll miss the atmosphere.

Even if I'm gone for 2 days, it feels like months since we've seen each other.

Now he's in New York for his grandmother's funeral, it's his 3rd day there but christ. It feels like I haven't seen him in 3 weeks.
Thankfully he's coming home tomorrow.
Now I can smother him with love! :D

It used to be I missed everyone when I was on vacation. Then I got my laptop. XD So not so much now. I talk to my friends online. I do miss them slightly sometimes, because I'm far away and bored and can't do anything with them in real life, but at least the computer helps kill my boredom. I missed my boyfriend the first year we started going out because I didn't have the computer also. But now I'm on vacation and he's with me, so I don't miss anyone and am not so bored. It's nice to finally have him with me. It's too bad though that my other friend, who was supposed to go on vacation somewhere near where I'm spending my vacation, ended up going to somewhere a bit farther away, so I won't get to see her like we had tried to plan. Oh well. We'll see each other when we get home.

Nope, not at all. Actually, i'm pretty happy to be away from most people at school for a while. I have one friend that I actually care about seeing, but we just go over to eachothers houses in the vacations, and we talk on msn ^^

My school friends are very nice. Only i don't really think about them in my vacation XD.
In the vacation(or break) i spend time with my best friends , computer , sleep and music xD
But it's nice to see them back again after vacation :]

Hm, I don't really miss any of my friends... just my boyfriend really. Though we do see each other somewhat often, I still miss him... I guess who I miss and how much I miss them is more determined by my mood though...

I haven't really missed anyone this break so far. I don't usually miss the friends I see daily anyway, and I've been hanging out with my boyfriend every day this week since Christmas. I'll probably miss him tomorrow since we haven't talked or seen each other all day today, but oh well. I plan on calling him Monday anyway.
