All my problems stem from viruses or spy-ware.

I do not have the know-how to fix my computer when that happens. And I'm afraid to even try to learn because I don't want to fuck up my computer.

I'm lucky enough to be dating a computer geek so he usually fixes my stuff when I break it - but I haven't broken it in a long time thankfully.

I try really hard to make sure i keep spyware and stuff off my computer- I use firefox and ad-block as well as script block and i periodically run Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware. Seems to work so far.

As for viruses and spy-ware I use Avg
Their free... Only they have something you can pay for and if your computer is really bad you might want to spend the money and get the whole works

aww... so good. Sometimes I do love computer geek/nerd/genius, they are so helpful in computer issues!

Lili I have AVG too.

I also have Ad Aware and Ad Watch which helps keep the spy-ware away from my computer.

I have tried scanning with AVG but that doesn't help. *kills programmes*

Since I need to download a various programmes for my course. T__T bad course.

I have AVG, Ad-Aware and SpyBot on my laptop--every computer geek I know uses them because they are the best freeware out there for this kind of stuff.

But then, I won't reformat my computer if I don't have all my things back up and in this case, I don't have enough space from hard disk, thurmbdrive to save my things.

That really sucks Maeve about not having enough storage to back everything up. That's why, when I knew my old laptop was on the fritz I bought a 500 gb external hard drive just so I wouldn't lose anything. I couldn't take that chance.

The free-ware anti-virus programs are the best! With the bought ones by the time they get shipped to Australia, then get shipped to my town they are at least 6 months out-of-date and they don't offer any online downloads to bring their program up to date either.

The stuff you have to buy sucks! It is always out-of-date by the time I get my hands on it.

And also the shit you have to buy usually offers no downloads for you to bring your software up-to-date.
