You know your depression is getting the better of you, when you can't even bring yourself to chat in a avatar forum based community.

I have one and I'm weanning myself off of my happy pill and its only been 3 weeks and already im feeling bad, like sleepy even though I got a good night sleep, and very dizzy...

I have been suffering from depression since 97-98.

That seems like a long time to be suffering from depression. Has it been looked into? According to commercials there are more treatments out there now.

Do you know anything about depression? Let alone clinical depression?

Not to sound rude or anything. But Prozac and other anti-depressants are not the miracle cures that they are made out to be.

I have a chemical in balance you might have the same thing if you've been fighting with depression for so long, with ups and downs.... I've been on and off anti depressants for 9years will say (I'm not very old) I needed them before I hit my teens I'm sure but no one would give them to a kid that young.... And sometimes they work for a little while then stop working. Right now I'm weanning myself off of some because I don't have the money to buy them anymore... No where cheap to go to get them refilled. I'm not doing so well coming off of them but im hiding it well

I have been on anti-depressants almost constantly since I was diagnosed back in 99. A counsilor that I had some sessions with suggested that I may have been born with depression.

I had had really good results with a drug called Effexor (or something like that) but I had to be taken off them as I started to experience some of the long term side affects.

The things we do to try to feel better

Lilim and Daashi, I know what it's like to live with someone that had undiagnosed Bipolar 1, which is the maniac bipolar.
Getting her the right treatment didn't happen until she was 18. It's rough and the first set of pills that she was on were the worst for her. They tried her on Lithium and Risperdal. They made her feel like a zombie, zapped all of her energy and she gained over 100 pounds in a year. It was truly sad. But now Amanda is on the right med for her, but it's still slow going because there are so many secondary symptoms of Bipolar and some of it is depression.
I'd give both of you a hug, but you're a few miles away. So instead, I send you a hug through here.
