Well, i've not done a proper cosplay because there are no cons in Scotland.
However, last year new one started up which my boyfriend wants to go to next year.
He really wants to cosplay Luffy >w<
He doens't want me to finish off my Zoro costume though, which i've been working on off and on for a while, incase we look gay. I told him he'd look gay dressing up as an anime character anyway 8D;;
But I love looking at other people's cosplays, especially since I can't sew properly 8D;;

Ive cosplayed, but when we had a dressup day at my school XD I live in the outback of Australia, so its hard to get to any conventions.
I've cosplayed as:
Kagome from Inuyasha
Jubei from Jubei-chan: The Ninja Girl
Ryuk from Death Note
Light from Death Note
Princess Mononoke from 'Mononoke-Hime/Princess Mononoke'
Cosplaying Mononoke was the BEST, I made my own porcelain mask and carried around this big plushie white wolf; I wore a white skirt and singlet top. Mind you, Im hopeless at sewing and we dont have a machine. The porcelain mask took me about 4 months as we were told in advance. My friends dressed up as Ardeth Bay, Imhotep, Rick and Evy and Jonathon from The Mummy and my mate who was Ardeth was amazing xD, we brought fake weapons and all. We even had me chase Imhotep throughout the town yelling 'Anck-Sa-Namun shall have her vengeance' as its a small town of about 100 people.

Well, I bought most of the stuff. The pants, shirt, shoes, pig, panda backpack, the materials to make the bow in my hair and the wand. My mom bought the shoes, which you can't see *sweat*

"Aerith" is the official name. Aeris was just put out for the U.S. translation of Final Fantasy 7 but even THEN her artwork is labeled "Aerith." I actually prefer Aeris instead.
For the record...my most expensive costume was last year's Marie Antoinette, a skyrocketing $250 @ [email protected] I really don't wanna do that ever again, and I'm not proud of me spending that money either, but there HAVE been cosplayers that spent worse, around $1000 or so. That's one THOUSAND. Not 100, not 10 dollars...people are hella crazy!

there are ways to do it cheaper, even if it is to be perfect xP I don't think I will ever spend over 100$ on any cosplay I'll make.
I always make my own outfits or have my friends/mom do it for me. :3 saves a lot of money to just buy the fabrics. ^^
I don't think I've spent more than 50$ to any of my cosplays so far :3

Kimonos are fun, but hard to make. I personally end up just buying kimonos but I really should make one. I want a butterfly one, or a really really pretty one. But I make other things for cosplays and conventions that are actually characters.

Even just buying fabric can get pretty expensive. x_x Especially if you're looking for accurate good-quality stuff. ie- not cheap satin, etc

If I could sew, I would make all my own costumes, though it would get expensive after buying all the fabrics.

I've cosplayed as Ritsuka but I sucked hardcore and no one new who I was. :cry: I'm not planing on cosplaying this year but next year I'd like to. I just want to work on my sewing skills before I do. And also after I get a job so I can buy the stuff.

My last cosplay was Anime Reactor in 2004. I went as Shampoo. Though i didn't make my dress except the alterations.
What was funny is I had some like 6 year old girl stalking me... She thought I was the real Shampoo. >w<;;

Some of the wigs I'm seeing are pretty cool.

When I'm sixteen I'm going cosplay-freak-mania, because I already made all my patterns for EVRYTHING possible..
-sees people looking and stashes them- Mine.
...And, all I need now is a car for my awesome ass (yes, no modesty here~) to scoot over to some cons<3
-sings and dances- I wanna go to DramaCon..
But it's not Realll..
So I can't...
-stops and sighs-
Done. > __<
...
-really likes wigs-
