Hi everyone, I'm new (obviously). I've kind of become a little uncomfortable with these kind of sites, but a friend of mine told me about this one, and it seems like a good place. I like the fact that this place has so many restrictions. I'm glad you guys appreciate the importance of intelligent conversation.

Anyway, I guess I'm here to introduce myself. I'm Mhir! I'm 18, and I live in the US. I'm a musician. I play the fiddle and I sing. I play the piano a little, but I'm not very good. I'm currently in college at a small community college, but I intend to transfer in a year or so. I'm very interested in Asian culture and am currently learning the Japanese language. I intend to someday study and maybe even work in Japan as a music teacher.

I don't know what to say beyond that, so anyway, I hope I like it here.

Well, I'm eighteen as well, live in the US, want to go to Japan, and I sing and play the piano, too! :3

I'll be going to college in the fall, though, so you're a bit ahead of me in the field of education. But at least we both have a passion for Asian culture! I know only bits and pieces of Japanese, but I wish I could go to Japan.

Also you're learning Japanese. That's awesome. I'm trying to but it is very slow for there is nowhere around where I live where I can learn it. I have to use books and not very helpful cds.

In response to Kadrias, my dad says I'm "semi-fluent", but I'm not totally sure. I haven't been able to take any classes for it, since there's no classes for Japanese at my college. Once I transfer, I definitely intend to actually formally study it.

Windy - Well, part of it has to do with the fact that I was homeschooled, and I graduated a year early. So I've actually been in college a year.

Hopefully I'll see all of you around here some.

Hey Mhir, I know someone there that gives Japanese classes during the summer. YOu might want to keep an eye on the newspaper, because I'm pretty sure that's where my mum saw it before.
Lol, only reason I remember is because the person who taught it was related somehow! XD
